- Jason Stanley is not just any Jewish philosopher; he is the grandson of the legendary Ilse Stanley, who helped release over 400 people from Nazi concentration camps in the late 1930s. He is not just the author of one major book on fascism - but, soon, two of them. And he is not just a professor of philosophy; he is a professor of philosophy at Yale.
So who better to talk to about the campus protests at Yale University, where police arrested over 40 pro-Palestine students demonstrating against the college’s ties with Israeli weapons manufacturers earlier this week? Who better to discuss antisemitism and anti-Zionism with, as student-led, pro-Palestine encampments continue to spread to campuses across the nation?
In a new series called ‘The Exchange,’ foreign policy analyst and Zeteo contributor Rula Jebreal interviews Professor Stanley, who debunks “the tremendous misinformation” in the mainstream media about what’s been happening on campus at Yale and other Ivy League universities; argues that the “the claim of antisemitism is just today’s excuse” for authoritarians to crack down on protesters; and notes how critics on the right have, shamefully, framed the Jewish students joining these protests as “not real Jews.” He also has some harsh words for “fascists” Benjamin Netanyahu and Donald Trump.

These students have given me more hope for the world than I have experienced in many years.

Since it's pretty easy to prove with evidence that these are not antisemitic protests, all those wrongly slandered should be suing the media outlets, politicians, and their universities. Money and power is what these organizations care about, so threatening their profits is the only thing that will get their attention and compliance with laws and ethics.

In fact, we've been watching this cynical weaponization of anti-Semitism for quite some time, but probably never so much as we have seen since 10/7.

He danced so close to a point when talking about “visible Jews” that it can’t not be made. Many of the “visible Jews” are wearing Israeli symbols to display their Judaism, and do so not to display their Judaism, but to intentionally antagonize. So the claims of visible Jews being harassed; a large portion of those claims are coming from people who are being harassed because they are being belligerent and antagonistic.
While it would certainly be preferable if people reacted calmly to these provocations, the reality is that not everyone will be able to placidly endure being goaded. There is no shortage of videos of groups of thugs wearing Israeli flags or other Jewish garb getting in people’s faces or openly cheering for genocide, and some people can’t hear that without being enraged, and sometimes people say things that they don’t mean when angry. It doesn’t take much imagination to know that many people have said nasty things about Jews when they really meant nasty things about Israelis/Zionists.

I find myself mostly agreeing with this Professor. But further, Judaism is a big tent that has existed globally for thousands of years and will continue for thousands more, (IF we can sustain the planet), it doesn’t really need a physical state (Israel) because it’s a mental state.
The problem with all this has nothing to do with Jewish students. It has to do with the isreali students who are loyal to their lord in Isreal. What they don't seem to get is, Americans don't owe it to them to not criticize Isreal.

We went into Iraq at the behest of Israel after Netanyahu told congress that they were developing nukes. We went into Syria not to topple Assad but to secure the Golan Heights for Israel. From the Nile to the Euphrates is what Greater Israel is truly aiming for and have been since 1947, they want way more than from the river to sea, they want Jordan too.

U will then understand that these students R the best of us. It is no surprise that Ivy League students R at the point of this spear. These students , in particular R our most brilliant of our youth, and they R concentrated in thee elite Univ.
