Merlin - His student being a savior complex, doesn't know jack about politic and being decent parent. Lead to got stabbed by a tomboy with daddy issue.
Chiron - One of his student got shot in ankle by a sheep shota. Another one got clash by his own boat while being a hobo. But his biggest student is the most successful one and not die quite a tragic like his classmate.

I remember being curious to see what his skills did just to realize he was arguably the worst servant in the game.
I mean, he could be better if his skills were targetable and had an extra effect like Bride.
They'd have to put in a LOT of work to make him good, just combine his skills into 1 ability and give him 2 new ones, but they wont do that because of a few reasons.
No one uses him
He isnt a very high rarity and was literally free, last 3 star I remember getting buffed was Fuuma.
Also even if they did we wouldn't get it for 2 years, and FGO will probably have wrapped up the story on JP by then, so why bother?

Wonderfully done as always. The Combination of Achilles, Chiron, and the Jeanne CE makes the upcoming banner a worthy banner to pull for. Not just for Achilles but for Chiron himself.
Those support skills and that NP will come in handy against those pesky CQ bosses who spam invul, evade, and def buffs.

I didn't know his NP also removed Guts. Geez, he'll be a pain as an enemy.
ALL defensive buffs removed. Fucking hell, neither Mash or Best Doggo can survive that NP! Guess the best strategy is to kill him as quickly as possible. (doesn't help that Archer enemies have only 3 charge bars)

So... Chiron is like an archer version of Rider Ishtar + Helena Caster with a bit more utility mixed in the NP?
Pretty much. Caster Helena + Team Utility version of Chloe (skill wise)
@@Yohtoh but Helena has teamwide NP charge, that's easily her most important trait than the pitiful all card buff she provides

@@Cr3zant you know who else has a teamwide NP charge? Waver, Merlin, Ozymandias, Chen Gong, and Jinako (who also has a stargen skill to boot), all with a better cooldown and is constantly at 20% without levelling, her "most important trait" isn't as unique as you thought, and that "pitiful" all card buff ain't a joke.
@@astridparungao4971 All of those but Chen are 5*s and thus not relevant for the sake of comparison as the odds of having them are ludicrously low relative to a 4*, and Chen is only capable of charging 10%, not even enough to turn 1 NP with kscope.
DW should really consider creating a CE that lowers star weight (or, even better, command codes), it would help a lot not only Chiron, but also Reines and Boudica in their role as support (and this effect already exists, in Chacha's kit).
You forgot to mention Hans, he is the best support for Mr Horse Archer here.
I just maxed my Helena caster's skills, and hopefully I can get Chiron for that all card buff also

I mean, I'm really excited for him! I've got a lot of servants to support him and I'll hope to NP5 him. And I think there a couple of really good CEs that will make sure he doesn't steal stars from the DPS(or just make so many stars he can't steal any! Lol)

Correction on 5:58 His NP removing defense buff isn't affecting Guts, since guts is not defensive buff
The amount of horse puns you managed to front load in the first 15 seconds is commendable.
I'm pretty excited for him. He's the last 4* I'm going for until Lanling and the possibility of an Achilles spook is very nice too.

Reminds me I also need to level my Chiron in JP, I do hope I may get him in NA but I'm in no rush, also slightly correction Oni, I do believe his NP despite removing DEF buffs, Guts as you mentioned, don't count as such, the others being the trait icon (buff), Evade, Invul and Death Immunity, I specially know about that thanks to a certain battle...
He is my go to for someone like Hercules or Achilles as he might be the only one able to hurt them and bypass their guts and defenses
I tested Chiron out and discovered that he can NP loop indefinitely with a Merlin support.
I was waiting for this spotlight. Love my Chiron, just unlocked his bond level 11.

Thanks for the great review Oni, I must stay strong and save what I can for Skadi in the coming months, but from what little experience I had of him from a spook on JP, I can attest that he makes certain fights (especially in later Lostbelt chapters) much easier due to his np alone! :D Hopefully he will spook me again at some point in the future on NA this time.
Did a ten pull earlier in the event, got nothing but the 5-star CE. Did tickets today after shop reset. Fourth ticket, this man. I actually wanted him more than Achilles, both for stylistic merit, and him being so damn good. So I'm doin' a little dance. I'm an Arts main without Tamamo. But between Chiron and CasGil, I can make Arts-Crit function. Wahoo!
Question Soberoni, do you have any plans on doing more updates to servant spotlights like you did in the past? Like for example, Nero Bride's targetable NP gain buff, Moriarty's evil alignment skill, etc? I'm not sure how much of an impact it makes for their gameplay, but I believe it would help since its been a long time since they were released.
I do plan to, probably in May since there aren't any major events / spotlights. I will be doing a re-review for Mordred first

Been looking back, whenever the free SRs come in I mainly focus on the servants I don't have. The last time was zerkerlot so I may use the next one on Chiron.

As for my rolls, 4 10x rolls + 9 tickets and i got NP4 Chiron (with Nezha and Avicebron). Sadly no Achilles... still have 300sq but save the rest for Skadi

Chiron is a Offensive Support Archer that can be on par with Waver when it comes to being able to Support Literally ANY TEAM, and as a Four Star!? O.O I've been trying to figure out how he should be used for awhile, and kept thinking that he was an Offensive Servant with a tiny bit of Support Utility, but after watching this Spotlight, I now understand that Chiron was a Support all this time!!! I mean, seeing as he's a Teacher and what not, it makes sense now that I think about it, lol. ^_^ Makes me glad that I didn't decide to Grail Chiron now, since from what I've heard, choosing to Grail a Support Servant is not a Good thing, with very few exceptions, like Tamamo Caster for example. However, just because I won't Grail him anymore DOESN'T mean that I WON'T use him!!! As a matter of fact, I Very Much So intend to use him, A LOT once I get him!!! I'm happy to see that Chiron is as good as I was hoping he would be, and thank you for another Great Spotlight, as always, Sober Oni!!! I just tried a x10 roll in the event banner hoping to get an event CE and i got spooked by this horse, now, i finally have a good archer and a great support at the same time
Chiron pairs surprisingly well with Achilles, his star weight isn’t that much of an issue, Achilles generates stars and appreciates the buffs that Chiron provides and can make up for the lack of damage Chiron might bring to a team.
Ofc they have to work well together.

Reminder that the Apocrypha event banner and its re-run are the only times Chiron is on rate-up, and this is the only chance of getting him other than the SR tickets.
Yes, he's in the general pool, but because he only has 2 rate-ups ever since and the chance of getting him as a spook is so very rare, he might as well be as rare as Fujino.
Everyone Apocrypha will be upon us soon. Appropriate thoughts sometimes are good catalysts. If you think of Oni blazing through LB content, farming and CQ with Achilles, you might get a share of Oni's luck. If you like seeing Oni, despite having multiple high level servants, struggle with hidden enemy mechanics, having his buffs removed or battling without mystic code seen lately in certain streams, Chiron is the target.
IM already know that Chiron is good support/semi support servant but it is my first time to know that Chiron is a top tier servant even i have him already in my chaldea. I guess i gonna max his skill and bound relationship to get that CE
Notice how the two best supports that fit into any team regardless of card type are both teachers
I wouldn't use my quartz to do some summons in the Apocrypha's banner but I might try to get him with my tickets
I hope i get him alongside achilles, so i can have both the horse and the rider (also master and apprentice)
I loved Chiron in the new series on Netflix I was happy getting 2 of him on my first pull
I hope they can just do like quick quest pretty much just a 1 click win and of course it will take the right amount of AP just give u your drops. if you have already beaten the quest a certain amount of times. But only the daily quests should get this feature. everything else is just fine.
This guy is great for the buffs and being equipped with Guda Guda Poster Girl for solo challenge quest memes.
Emiya would have 158% Crit buff with the two skills combined thanks to also having independent action.

I am skipping this banner, so my Quartz would be used for Skadi and hopefully for Summer BB.
Man, I had no idea he was this good. I consider myself really lucky when I got Chiron as a bonus when rolling for Kama and Parvati, same goes for caster Gilgamesh tbh. There goes my chance for other good servants this year.

Decided to roll a summon ticket on a whim... got him without even wanting him, which is pretty great for a f2p player like myself! 😌
Centaur... mostly man, but horse where it counts.
Correction: Guts is NOT a defensive buff. The only 5 defensive buffs are Dodge, Invincibility, Defense Up/Damage Cut, Ignore Class Disadvantage (the purple diamond) and Death Resistance.
I have been saving up for this guy after using him on JP.
I got Chiron on my jp account and he’s carrying me through a lot of story boss fight as a support. I was confused between emiya and chiron but i find chiron a lot better .
Got both boys, though more glad to get chiron! He was probably my favorite servant writing wise from the anime, even if I do like Vlad
Chiron really needs an interlude. A plus level skills. Great utility. Can do some damage with Arts crit. Perfect synergy with Anderssen. Absolutely ridiculous NP gain. (2%!! on Arts)
But why is his NP damage so poor? Emiya Alter has similar stats, but his NP hits really hard after rank up. If Chiron could do the same level of damage on his NP at 1200%, he’d be even better. Best Non-Welfare archer right here in NA.

I have him at NP lvl 2 and finally got his 3rd skill to lvl 9 . Wish his NP was a little better like with sure hit

Ironically for a crit support servant, if you have him at level 5 with 2 supports he is RIDICULOUS as a dps and np nuker/spammer
Won't be rolling for Chiron when his banner rolls around, but I'll hopefully be getting him from the Guaranteed 4 Star Ticket later this year! I'll be waiting for the Great Sage of Centaurs to appear in my Chaldea :D

I might throw 30sq at Achilles so if Chiron comes, that's great, his kit is pretty useful even if I'd rather not use a support archer, but I do run Atalante for support, so...
Great kit, but his design does throw me off a little
a small mistake about the removing defensive buffs the guts cannot be removed he only removes [ evade - invincibility - any def buffs ]
