Take a tour of this off-the-grid native beach house in Camarines Sur. A breezy house close to nature and oozing with the kind of charm only wooden materials can give. This not so tiny house comforted a family of five during the pandemic. Probably, it's the depression or having little interest in doing things among the little ones.
But why off-grid living?
When it comes to living off the grid, it's hard to pack up your life from the city and move to a place with no running water, no electricity, or road access. But then you probably haven't met people like Antonette and Emmanuelle.
The couple invested around 1.5 to 2 million pesos on the main house, and look at what they've accomplished.

Guys after reading your comments ill try to answer some:
Yes we are aware of the weather condition in Bicol and honestly we learned a lot on how to cope with the weAther. Last year we experienced several typhoons and thank God no rePairs are needed yet for the house.
As for the concern on how we keep the porch dry when it rAin. We have sun/rain shAde ordered online and it was installed as a roll up (DIY) so we can easily protect the inside of the house from rAin.
For the wind typhoon, we have separAte trApal that somewHat ‘nakayakap’ with the bifold.
The place is a beach cove and the waves are always calm. We are surrounded by mountains that might help with the typhoon’s wind.
For the security it is gated and only lot owners or their guests can enter. Majority of the Property are owned by people who are respected on the area.
For the termites and other pests, almost of our area is treated. We have someone that regularly checks the place (prevention is better). Solignum is a big help as well.
For the Insects and mosquitoes, our sheer curtain is actually a moSquito net. We also bought it online.
Maintaining the place is a bit of a work and a challenge. We learned a lot and surely will learn more. Thanks for the comments and God bless us all!

Goals! Ang nice ng bahay! And nakakatuwa to watch the owners share about their home, kita mo talaga yung passion nila and yung fulfilment na nakagawa sila ng ganitong bahay. Lalo na si daddy when he was sharing about the kitchen, nag light up yung eyes niya. I love the swings for the kids habang hinihintay si mommy matapos maglaba.

Hello po! We experienced several typhoons last year. Honestly po it was a challenge for us because we all know that Bicol region is affected by typhoon most of the time. So far po no repairs needed after those typhoon we had last year.
Also pa-cove po ang beach area, maybe it could also be a factor. Locals there always answer us with ‘nakukulong ang beach na ito ng mga bundok’ every time we ask about the typhoon. :) Praying that the house can still withstand stronger typhoon in the future. 🙏

Usually kung native ka Sa lugar alam na nila na kelangan semento pa rin haligi. Vinyl tiles, hardwood ang ginagamit. Or yes kawayan. Marine Plywood interior then top with amacan. Yung roof ay pa triangle coz it will stand strong wind.and it’s made of common roof materials used in modern houses. But the ceiling are made of amacan. In that way. Matibay yung bahay sa typhoon. Unless it’s a category 4 or 5. Evacuate.

2 million pesos is like almost $50k at the present exchange rate. You could easily have one in a few years' time of saving dollars in the US. Yeah, might be a good time to plan your return back home.

Hello paano po pag tag ulan..di ho ba pinapasut ng 2big ulan,durable ba ho pg bagyo
We have po 2 types of trapal po, one for typhoon na nakayakap sa bifold wall para po di bumaha sa porch. Other one po is a sun/rain shade bought online na ginaya namin ang mechanism sa bamboo blinds :). Para po maibaba namin ng mabilisan pag umuulan. So far po kahit may kalakasan ang ulan at katamtaman na lakas ng hangin, effective po sya in keeping the porch dry na maganda pa din tingnan sa labas ng bahay. Nakaexperience din po kami ng mga bagyo last year , awa po ng Diyos no repair needed after those typhoons.
Parang nakakatakot naman sa labas ng bahay nila. Though the house is beautiful, actually this is my dream house. But one thing I noticed Parang hindi sila safe sa lugar na yan. Sana mataas ang bakod nila matibay at may lock.

@@antonettebc2007 How about those bamboo walling ideas with between partings for air ventilation, Do you have any covering to protect the interior of your house from heavy rain showers and typhoons as well. I'm a bit worried on how do you handle heavy rains and air breeze from the ocean. BTW your house is one of my dream beach house ideas. Keep safe all the time because I've been in CamNorth and the weather there is very unpredictable. God bless your beautiful family.
