I like to keep my wolves in a tub upstairs so that as they run downstairs they gain momentum and become a wolf hurricane. Thank you for being so calm and patient with those suffering from hoarding. I didn't realize I had hoarding tendencies until I was in my mid-20s.
Thank you for handling hoarding disorders etc. with respect and genuine understanding, you're a good person with good morals towards others. And also educating people too, and not hating on people who get it wrong. Just basically thanks for being yourself. The humour is great too.
I wanna say thank you. I have depression, and ADHD, and a few other disorders that make cleaning difficult. Usually either motivation, or task paralysis, but I've found if I watch one or two of your videos, I want to body double, and end up with motivation/ability to at least get one big thing done. I'm 31, and it's just now I've found a way to manage.
I have the same issue with task paralysis and executive dysfunction, but watching someone clean, whether it be irl or in like a movie (Howl's Moving Castle gives me the same feeling) I just get a sudden urge to do something similar.
Same here. 36 and just figuring out how essential body doubling is to help me stay on top of house work. Mac's videos really REALLY help with this. It makes our adhd brains/bodies "click into gear", sparking our interest based nervous systems
I love your content because you're educating us with facts, entertaining us with spin kicks, making us laugh with dad jokes, and satisfying us with your superior organizational and cleaning skills. Total package channel 👌
@@Sleep2Dream I live in California and years ago they decided they would provide money for “regional centers” non profit funded by the govt so that people with Intellectual disabilities and now that includes people on the spectrum and in some cases TBI. I wish we had someone with Mack’s ability to share and the knowledge at every local facility that provides care for our clients. It would be amazing. I think he provides two amazing services. Cleaning and education. 😎😎😎😎
Until this video, I was keeping my wolves stacked in a tall, thin utility closet. I've now switched to a tub and you're absolutely correct! It's much, much more convenient! I can now move them around the house "as needed", and no longer need to assist the ones on the top of the stack down to the floor - which wastes valuable time if there's an emergency where they are needed!
My heart hurts for these folks. I hope for healing to come their way. And a big high five to you for helping them with this! The world needs more people like you.
I rarely comment on videos, but I'm absolutely in love with this channel! I too am autistic, and my parents in law are hoarders - not nearly as severe as this, but they have many of the same issues as this couple. Father in law has MS, so he can't move super well (and the condition has only gone down hill over the years), and mother in law has a whole smattering of mental health issues that interfere with her quality of living. They moved to an apartment several years back, and in the process helped reduce the hoard - however, most of it went to a storage unit. Recently, MIL invited my husband and his brother over to the unit to start throwing things out. "Be tough!" she said, and they were pretty tough. It was hard for her to let go of those items, but watching this channel has shown me just how proud I should be of her and her strides towards improving herself. Thank you!
When you talk about the bad advice given to hoarders, it sounds so familiar to me. I've heard the same kind of talk towards autistic people that they need to just "stop acting weird" and "get their act together", or even "autism isn't real; it's just an excuse for kids who behave badly". It can be amazing the lack of empathy out there for people who are struggling. I'm glad your channel explains what people are going through in these situations.
Apparently if you are autistic you are just "privileged" - I would give a lot to be "un-priviledged" and lose my autism - they will get the ADD, Depression and CPTSD thrown in for free 🤯
Wish i knew how to help my mother with her hoarding. Best I can think of is occasionally asking her to get outside help, because i know i sure don't have the skills to wiggle my way past her hoarding spawned delusions and her disorders defenses.
@@fractalgem it sounds like you have a kind-hearted attitude towards her! Keep offering help, keep suggesting professional help. Keep being there in ways that minimize the shame she must feel and offering hands on support eg not "This place is such a mess" but more like "It sounds like you're really struggling at the moment staying on top of things, can I pop over one weekend to help in any way?"
@@softcandy22 hah, i wish. I appreciate the thought, but between my terrible headaches (its rate enough for me to be capable of cleaning without AGONY these days, almost impossible for me to drive there and still be capable of cleaning) and her attitude (she won't let me throw moldy food away because if she can't see the mold it doesn't exist/she can cut off the bad part), what you suggest is not viable. It was a strugglewith her to throwaway an apple that was breeding fruit flies. :( She's almost exactly what I could hope for in a mother except for the terrible hoarding habits. Even on the rare, RARE day my headache goes down enough for me to drive there and clean, she won't let me do much. And late I appreciate the intentions, but i struggle to chip away at the mess she left in this house where she isn't around to be traumatized by my actions or stop me throwing away spoiled food.
I actually love that you don't always clean everything - it shows people the stages and that you have to start somewhere, something is better than nothing. A hoarding situation this bad, they will be lucky not to have to do major renovations. Still, carpets should come out, walls should be painted, upholstered furniture replaced, etc., but that's too often beyond the budget of a pensioner. Good on you for making their home more liveable. With what you are saving them, they might be able to get some of the other stuff done.
Why replace all the carpet? The living room at least doesn’t look to be in super bad condition and could possibly be good with stain removal soaking, and a shampoo/ steam clean? I guess it depends on how bad the mouse stuff was.
@@lucsmith2092 I used to clean rugs professionally and my outlook is that the carpeting needs to be removed: possibly years of mouse waste; maybe bird droppings also; dust and dirt over what has probably been many years and the biohazard of needles along with ordinary wear and tear. I say pull up carpets and start over with something such as a hardwood floor and on top of that smaller rugs that can be cleaned individually.
Everything you do in these cleanings is geared to letting your clients change on their own terms. I’m glad they seek you out and trust you as they go through this process. Much better than the TV shows, more cleaning, less drama.
I ended up with a cleaning supply hoard during a bad patch - because the air fresheners I like kept dropping behind a piece of furniture! So I'd be 'out' and get more. I had thirty cans of air freshener by the time I got better and pulled it out. I'm down to half a dozen by now. The same with handwash, it was behind some garden bags in the kitchen sink cupboard so I'd be 'out' and buy a three-pack and shove two away, and just plain forget. Now I am sure I have only two in there because I looked for a stash *first*. And I have art stuff too. This video's a definite warning to me to keep on my game of throwing things out on a regular basis and trying to do inventory when I need cleaning supplies. The art stuff is back down to nearly nothing and I don't buy any now. Or notebooks! I'm using those up too and they have an actual place to be. And the sink has always been clear - I never got to that point. But seeing how it could so easily creep up... *shiver*.
And this is true of both the hoarders and the organizers. Mack's ephemeral artwork may not last, but it brings the beauty of order at least for a while into the lives of those whose creative desires have spun out of control, who have "lost their compass."
I love your method of sorting things by what they are. I think that helps people when they're going through realize "Oh I have eighteen packages of markers! I probably don't need this many." and it's easier to part with it when you see it in that context.
Especially if there is a place to donate them to. I saw a number of kitchen cleanings, that ended up with hundreds of pieces of cutlery and these are easily sanitised and can be quite useful for community events/organisation (bake sale to helping new arrivals)
Can’t wait for that live wolf brushing- and I’ve also heard that storing them in a single tub is best because when you release multiple wolf tubs at once they have to stop and make the plan of attack before defending the house- doing a single tub insures they know the plan out the gate.
. Great idea, might I add, don't forget the colour coded lids to put them away again or you'll just get so confused and just spin kick yourself in the face outta frustration 😂😂😂
Sorting through mountains and mountains of paper mixed with garbage is just not something my addled brain could cope with. I have a ton of respect and admiration for you - this physically exhausting work and the humanity you highlight throughout these videos is extraordinary.
My mom had a tumor in her frontal lobe, and although it was a benign tumor, it was huge, and she had a stroke when she had it removed. On top of that, she already has ADHD, so it was like a double whammy. She also has a traumatic history, and has become completely disabled because of the tumor and stroke. My mom was never a lazy person and she was a nurse and a very excellent one. I'm telling this story because I want others to know that people with these kind of hoarding problems do almost always have significant issues that lead to it, and I appreciate what you do for those people, and how kind and compassionate you are.
I find that I have hoarding tendencies after watching you for awhile. So as of now I take a 3x3 spot in a room and try to get it clean. Thank you so much
Tubs of live barking wolves!!! Brushing their hair out to make them look gorgeous!!! You are such a scream!!!!! and you are just so inspirational, having the patience, desire to truly help and make a difference, the motivation, and skill to do this!!! I’m blown away at your kindness and understanding, and the world needs more people like you!! Thank you for getting my weekend off to a great start!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💟💟💟🩵🩵🩵⭐️⭐️⭐️💛💛💛
I have hoarding tendencies due to severe childhood trauma, but it got really bad after my mom died of cancer. After my first baby, I realized that I had a problem and wanted to have a safe place for him to play, 2ond kid, I kicked it into high gear and got rid so much stuff, 3rd kid I’m almost done with getting rid of my extra huge hoard of beading & crafting items that I’ve been collecting since I was 12 😅 had to save those for last because they were my favorite collection 🙃 . Very close to being done, I’m very pleased with my progress 😁 Thanks for helping this couple, and I commend them for being brave enough to allow you to help them 😊
Your videos should be required watching for anyone with a family member who is a hoarder, people who work with hoarders and hoarders themselves. You provide so much information it is like a master class. Thank you.
I don't know if you're even aware if how much good you do. Aside from the actual cleaning, the amount of understanding you show and the way you explain things down to medical details most people don't know is inspiring. And you are SOOO right. You can't tell a person with depression to just smile. I love that you understand hoarding so well and get yourself involved in helping these people untangle their lives. Wish we ALL had that!!
The person who was going to determine if I could get a disability pension due to my Chronic Major Depression, Treatment Resistant - to me not to look so negatively on things 🤦
Feeling depressed because of my chronic illnesses making me useless, said, I know what I need so, I start watching, & bam you post a new video. I admire you Sir, love ya to pieces. I think youre a Saint, & that we should all be praying for Gods abundant blessings to fall upon you & yours‼️‼️ Who agrees❓
Books? ✔️ Bags? ✔️ Cleaning supplies? ✔️ Crafting supplies? ✔️ Clothing? ✔️ Okay, so from your videos I'm seeing my hoarding tendencies. This gives me the info to start clearing out these areas before it gets to be more of a problem. I have trouble letting go of stuff but your videos show me my future house and I don't want that for my family. My ADHD brain is struggling but I'm using a lot of your methods to try to keep myself in check. Thank you.
If it wasn't for bed bugs I wouldn't be here LOL Seriously...my granduncle rented a beach bungalow in the early 1930s with some school friends; on Staten Island, NY. First day the SOS call to Manhattan : The place is crawling! so my great grandmother sent her daughter (my maternal grandmother) and her friend Babe (yes, her name was Babe!) to Staten Island to get rid of the bed bugs. It involved kerosine and bed frames on the beach lol. That weekend my grandmother met my grandfather and here I am LOL
First time watcher. I love that you’re educating your followers on the neuropsychological component. I wish we could have more people like you doing that.
Hey nice job goin the extra mile organizing the wolves... 🐺 they are often overlooked. Excellent phase 1 and so happy the isles are clear for safety. Well done! Blessings from over here to over there. 💛🖤💛
It was by no means perfect, but this level 1 clean will absolutely change their lives. ❤ if the homeowners are reading this, I hope you know we're cheering you on and proud of your hard work!
I hope she lets you do the 6 ft tall bedroom. My grandmother was a hoarder with floor to ceiling stacks of newspapers, tubs of empty pickle glass jars, etc, but everything sorted with like items. She lived through the depression and everything had value. It was packed so tight. My mother was raised in that mess and hated it. She was such an extreme NOT hoarder person, not sure how to word that. We had a full basement with only one box of ornaments in it and the fake Christmas tree, a ping pong table and washer/dryer. My children and I are all extremely neat, non-hoarder people. I can’t wait to see that living room totally cleaned and all those books neatly displayed on that lady’s bookshelves. I hope she is loving being able to sit in the living room and lets you throw out more. You are a special human being. Hope your back gets better and Filth can come move the furniture next time so you can vacuum under it. And the wolves in the plastic tub, lol.
My grandma also lived through the Great Depression and hoarded. But it makes me question how the condition gets (passed on to?) younger generations (2/3 of her offspring).
@lucsmith2092 some people whose parents hoard grow up with that as their normal and any deviation feels uncomfortable- I have a father from a hoarder family and my mum is from an obsessively clean one so growing up was a constant stressful battle 😅😅
Both my great grandmother and grandmother were hoarders/had tendencies. Consequently my mother bins everything, she's still messy but does her best to clear stuff out, she doesn't recycle or take stuff to charity because it adds another step to the clearing out process which obviously is how she copes but then all that stuff goes straight to land fill. Now I'm the 4th generation to have the same issue (I am adhd, I suspect they all were/are too) and I know I have hoarding tendencies, I struggle more than my mother bit its because I try to be waste concious. I still throw some stuff away but try to recycle, repurpose, give to charity shops as much as I can manage to. I've started building community practices with friends where we swap time to help each other by body doubling. One week we clean together at yours, the next week we clean together at mine. Everyone gets support, everyone helps each other.
Thank you for reminding everyone that hoarding is a mental health issue, not a laziness issue. I know several hoarders, and none are lazy. Their only hope for recovery is compassion from those who want to help them.
Excellent job. I am a type one diabetic. I am also a senior. A clear floor is essential to prevent foot injuries, which can lead to amputation. You have helped them so much. Every bag in the dumpster is a victory for them and for you. Compassion and understanding are what is needed for this couple. I wish them success and happiness. Best wishes from Canada.
I love how you explained the brain situation for people suffering from this disorder. My whole 33 year career in education has been in the area of dyslexia intervention and assessment. The intervention involves therapy that (like the treatment you described) basically reroutes and builds new neural pathways. When explaining the treatment to parents I always compare it to going to a personal trainer. You’re not going to get into shape over night (I wish), but with consistent intervention work over time you absolutely can get readers to become fluent. They may tire out a bit more quickly because it doesn’t disappear…but the right therapy in any situation can be life changing and allow people to live normal (or close to normal) lives. You’re a good man Mr. Midwest Spin Kicker. Eliminating stigma is a huge and sometimes overlooked piece to healing. I pray for this couple to continue to work through this alongside you. Much respect to both of them. They’ve had to work through a lot of pain…and one asks to get sick or hurt.
A good example of a hoarder being able to overcome the disorder little by little is Melanie at A Hoarders Heart. She is very open about what its like to change from a hoarders perspective, but also shows that its entirely possible.
With their mobility issues it might be better for them to use paper plates and bowls that can be thrown away. If they weren't so overwhelmed they might have more time to tackle some of the other areas that need sorted. Anna In Ohio
@@buckeyedav1 I think you're right. My 92 yr old Auntie has major mobility issues so she uses paper plates, bowls, ect a lot. She feels guilty so she recycles everything remotely possible. Standing at the sink is hard for her. She has a dishwasher that has never been used because she uses it to keep the dishes in due to lack of reachable space. Older and disabled people gotta do what they gotta do to remain in their homes as long as possible.
I read a book last year for creatives about how if you don't create, you will consume. It was mostly talking about social media consumption, but I think to also applies to impulse purchasing. I think many artists struggle with buying the things to make something, feeling overwhelmed or depressed, and never actually following through with the creation. Then you buy more to kick start it or fill the creation void with consumption while never getting rid of the old supplies and its an endless cycle. This is just what i thought of when you said you find a lot of craft materials in houses of this state.
You have got to be one of the kindest and most generous person I have ever witnessed! You helping this couple is God's work! Bless your heart! Thank you for all that you do!❤
You are a machine. I cannot believe your focus and non stop organizing and cleanup. I would be standing there not knowing what to do. I would venture to say it wasn't cleaned much earlier than 2018.
Finished cleaning my father in laws hoard last year and now am moving on to my mother in laws home. He was an organized hoarder. Lots of stuff but all in piles. My MIL is like this home and we're expecting it to take us 3-4 months to clean. It's definitely a marathon if you're in the middle of this.
Such a great sign that they are doing what they can to contribute to their own healing. Your empathy and compassion are both wonderful and a great example for all of us to learn from.
It feels like I'm watching a new season of a TV show I'm absolutely enthralled in. Though I'm excited and happy to hear the couple working so hard. I hope they are proud because we all are and stand by them. Keep up the great work and giving people that little spark of hope. ❤❤👊
as someone born and raised in the states of illinois/indinana, i can most respect their love for the st. louis cardinals. besides that, i only JUST found out about these videos and i'm loving them so far! it's truly amazing what he does, and my heart goes out to anyone suffering from the hoarding disorder. i'd love to hear an update about them if one day they are recovering more and more! peace and love
I’d struggled mightily with my wolf storage. Thank you so much. I already had an extra rubber tub on hand with a snapping lid so I was able to implement your advice right away. Happy wolves, happy life! ☮️❤️🌎😊💪
He has help me clean my house without being here because I have adhd so teaching people to clean one corner of the house in each room verses focusing on the whole house helps a lot.
So glad this couple is letting you help them as it takes a lot of courage to be transparent & vulnerable. God bless you for helping them. Outstanding job!
I am proud of you and your clients! Your patience with them and your willingness to see this mess through to the end is indeed inspirational. The transformation should be motivating for this couple. If hubby is doing the dishes and keeping the kitchen relatively tidy, and they both keep decluttering, you have indeed made a difference in their lives! Keep up the great work!
I’m so touched by not only the physical job of cleaning that you are doing for them but to hear how proud you are of them as they tackle their things. It’s very inspiring and makes what we see as horrible and sad into something hopeful. I really hope they find a way to be in comfort and peace in their home. Every one of us deserves that - your gift to them makes it possible 😊❤
I don't know about anyone else but I think your narration is just adorable. I'm loving it! 🥰 And I think it's sorta cool that you spin kick for everyone who needs it. I mean clean their house for them, I think that's what I meant.
Very smart of you to not spin-kick the bird mess. I see you are well-versed in the ways of birds and their messes. I'm an expert, with 5 birds myself, and you should never underestimate the power of the mess they make... or how quickly they can make it! Not even exaggerating... you might clean it all up and literally half an hour later there's seed hulls, pellets, feathers, bird dust, you name it... all over the place. Don't move the cage for a month or two? You'll pick it up to find another bird's worth of feathers down there, especially if the cage is up against the wall. Then again, when you have 5 birds, it's 5x the mess. Spin-kicking is never recommended under these conditions. (Also, I highly recommend vacuuming over sweeping. Feathers, especially, don't like to cooperate with your broom.)
Thank you Mack for all you do. You are a fine man with good morals. If you ever come across the pre measured pens for diabetes…. Insulin ( in any container ) has to be refrigerated!! One pen can be out of fridge for 28 days while you are using it, but the new pens or vials HAVE to be in fridge! Thought you should know this. I hope not having it in the fridge hasn’t affected the lady. I have been diabetic for years. Love to you from Moose 🫎 country, B. C. Canada 🇨🇦 ♥️
You did a great job so far on this room. I appreciate your detailed explanations of hoarding disorder, and am glad you're going through everything and not loading the stuff with a snow shovel into a hefty bag the whole time like other hoarding cleaner-ups do. I am looking forward to the next part of this series.
Wow! What a difference. I bet it feels wonderful for them to be able to walk safely in and out of the room. They also have a nice clear seating area too. I was a mid level hoarder for years after I lost my dad. My home is clean and functional but packed to the rafters. Quite ironically it was my marriage breakdown that made me want to clean house to get rid of anything ex husband related. I won't lie it's hard. Admitting it's a problem instead of ignoring it and going on as always. Lockdown helped me, I rolled my sleeves up and began the sorting. Trying to get rid of things I know are perfectly good but will never need or use. I filled my living room with things to go out but disposing of it was difficult as I don't drive or have transport. It's a slow process for me but I am taking a couple of bags at a time to goodwill and I can see my progress. :)
Thank you for explaining how a hoard can get to this point. Mine's not nearly this bad but thanks to your videos, I'm slowly working my way through it. And I now understand that I did, in fact, suffer a traumatic loss 1.5 years ago which has affected me more than I thought it had. I definitely had "analysis paralysis" when it came to cleaning my apartment. Not anymore. My new motto, when it comes to cleaning is "one surface at a time."
We dealt with bed bugs a couple years ago. We had new living room furniture delivered about a week before I went into labor with our first baby and didn’t realize the couches were infested with bed bugs. It was an absolute nightmare bringing a newborn home to that. Luckily he never got bit, only me, but we were fortunate to have good friends who work at a local furniture store that were willing to take our couches (and mattresses just to be safe) in and heat treat them for about 16 hours. We haven’t had a problem since but I know how awful it is living with those things. Hopefully this family is able to get rid of theirs as well.
I used to watch the heck out of Hoarders, but when I found your videos they really opened my eyes to how exploitative those shows can be. Yes, they offer help in cleaning up and aftercare therapy, but it feels icky watching the people suffering from these disorders experience (in some cases) the worst days of their lives as they confront their disorder; recorded for our entertainment. These are the videos I subbed for. Just a compassionate guy with his Filth and Thug collectively spin kicking a hoard into orbit. ❤
Bless you for helping people with these hoarding disorders. It is a massive job that many people just won't do and it is exhausting. After my Grandfather passed, my Grandma stopped letting us into her home, one night she had an emergency and i had to go in and was stunned! Fortunately there were no biohazards but this huge house was filled with a massive amount of stuff in every room. I was able with the help of family to get her to agree to let go of enough stuff to make it livable. Unfortunately the cycle continues because once Grandma passed my uncle insists that everything of hers except clothes and costume jewelry is kept so if you ever travel to the southeast let me know
Its heartbreaking thinking of that poor disabled couple having to live in this home, especially with the bed bugs. I had to live through a bed bugs ordeal in my apartment a few years ago and it was an absolute nightmare that took several weeks to completely eradicate. Its wonderful that youre so patient and understanding and willing to help people like this improve their lives. I particularly love the fantastic analogies you use to explain things so that even idiotic bags of crap like me can understand. Youre awesome and a true godsend in so many ways ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
Good on the folks who live there as they start their journey. I appreciate that, along with everything else you do, you have done some very deep reading on hoarding and are educating us. YouR presentation skills are noted too. I have to go tub my wolves now 😆
I recently learned from a channel on here called "Celebrating Appalachia" that the term/phrase for describing yourself as injured - due to overworking, getting out of bed incorrectly, going too hard in the snow with a sled, etc. is referred to as "stove-up". So, you, Mr. Magic, are "stove-up". Feel better. Thanks for being a great human in the compassion you show for the folks who live in these homes. 💜✌️
I am so glad that you take the time to explain the issue of hoarding. I was one that had the sorry judgemental attitude of hoarders. I am so sorry for that attitude. What we don't understand should not give us licence to judge. What a huge heart you have!!! 🙏❤
Sort Like with Like and Wolves with Wolves. Got it! BTW-I'm very impressed with how you tackle these messes. Even more impressed with how the homeowners are sorting through the bins you leave and staying on top of the dishes. Very unusual. Kudos to them!
So smart to put all the wolves in one tub! I heard once that if you put all the craft supplies in the tub with the wolves they will make some cool things ! 😊
Thank you for explaining hoarding disorder! It is pretty clear that nobody lives like this because they want to, so they can't just change it, but comparing the emotional attachment to the kind of feelings towards your kids or pets really helped me understand why one should never just throw stuff away in an attempt to help a hoarder.
Jodi Dunn is a channel I watch - she was cleaning her front windows today and mentioned your lesson on super fine microfiber cloths- she gave you a shout out - I love how other channels support each other
I just got back from a 9 hour drive home from camping with my husband and 2 young kids, immediately unpacked everything and finally sat down on my couch and saw you posted a new video and it made the whole day worth it! Thank you for your videos. I love them all ❤
Thanks for explaining the psychology of Hoarding. Also the way you make sure they do their part. I like the description of 'Level One Cleaning;'. Better than clearing everything and leaving them to re-hoard. Well done! 👍👍
Sorry to hear you hurt your back again, get well soon. Was it lifting the box of books? Oh the wolves in one tub is a great idea 💡 (or was it the wolves jumping around in the box)??? Fantastic that this couple are going through box’s and keeping up with the wash up. Fair play to you keeping contact when you’re at home and giving the encouragement, motivation, kindness and understanding that they need and deserve. The transformation already is fantastic. Stage 1 cleaning here is astounding. You really just want to spin kick the craft room but at least wait until your back is better. Have a great week. Mary, Joes wife 👏👍💪🙏💐
Thanks for going through things instead of just shoveling it up and throwing it all out like most people want to do. Hoarders like my mom and uncle often have valuable items which often get misplaced. I think that the hoard being just junk, or that hoarders only have junk is as bad of a misconception as that they are lazy.
It takes passion to do what you do consistently - and its telling in your voice. Equally the joy and freedom it brings to your clients cannot be expressed enough. For us your viewers its satisfying. Thank you and keep doing what you do because its doing the world so much good.
20:42 (T-shirt idea)“Tyvek butts drive me nuts”. I know I know. You get more than enough silly ideas and you may have one of these already. ❤❤❤. Great clean up so far. ❤❤❤
It's quite hard for me to imagine they have a bird in the middle of all of this. How do they even get there to the bird to feed it in all this? Thank you for helping this couple!
i can only assume the bird never leaves that cage either... im genuinely concerned for the health (physical and mental+emotional) of the bird AND the people living there, birds are messy and pollute air as a rule
@@wolfe6220 FOR SURE, like theyre super sensitive to air quality so im horrified 😭im so glad theyre getting the help they need but i really think these guys should be assessed to see if theyre really in the right place to keep a bird
I absolutely love your humor you can take such a depressing situation and add a tad bit of humor just to get a moment of a smile and it works for me. I have been watching your channel for quite awhile now, and for some reason I just can’t get enough of it. I tell my husband your my favorite you tube channel, he’s not a big fan like me,I think it’s because you make him (and probably other guys) nervous cause you enjoy🎉cleaning.😅😂Please keep up the great work, and never stop smiling😊. Your friend!
I like to watch the hoarder shows. But especially yours because you do not berate the people who have the problem. Watching this helps me get motivated. I start with collecting and throwing out trash. Then doing dishes. I'm able to give some stuff away. I've stopped going to the thrift store. That's a big deal. I might go once a month. I go through my mail more regularly. Throw out and shred. I throw out magazines. It's helping. I've asked my family for help. They won't. They are always too busy and self absorbed. So, it is on me. I will do it... I think that people who are mean to people who have problems have their own mental issues. They kick people when they are down. Who does that?
I love that you really delve into all the psychological issues that surround things like this. I’ve been on my own mental health journey, with a new adhd diagnosis and struggling with depression. Understanding that executive functioning problems is a huge part of adhd. And I’ve had to remove the word lazy from my vocabulary. I was stuck in a cycle of overwhelm and negative thought patterns in regards to my house being messy. My adhd symptoms are made worse by depression. Which then makes my depression even worse. Medication and therapy have helped so much!
So so pleased this couple are doing so well with their hoarding. I'm sure they'll feel much better when things are in more order. I love your channel ❤️
Watching this sent me into a panic. While my home is in no way this bad, watching you reminded me of how I have to deal with my clutter… move this pile here, so I can move another pile where that one was, rinse and repeat. And I’m too old to spin kick it out the door. And it’s frustrating and makes me crazy. It takes too long to get stuff that needs to go out of the place. Thanks for these videos. They help me fight those tendencies, because I grew up with this kind of thing. ❤❤👊🏻
You do an amazing job helping this couple to get around their house so they don't trip on something and fall. I know their red grateful for all your hard work. God bless you.
This is both fascinating and mesmerizing. Also I appreciate the kindness and explanation of this mental illness. I have other mental illnesses, and stigma can be so hard to deal with.
My husband was in the other room listening to you talk about the wolves and he ask "what are you watching." I told him Jonny Spin Kick that's who.
😂😂😂
Did you then tell him to Suck It?
❤😂
I think you should test that theory 😂
Lol😂😂😂😂
I like to keep my wolves in a tub upstairs so that as they run downstairs they gain momentum and become a wolf hurricane.
Thank you for being so calm and patient with those suffering from hoarding. I didn't realize I had hoarding tendencies until I was in my mid-20s.

What a nice Friday surprise- a new MMC video. Hope you and the fluffy wolves have a great weekend and get your back back in shape (pun intended)!

Like he says, 3 steps. Bit by bit
Same here. 36 and just figuring out how essential body doubling is to help me stay on top of house work. Mac's videos really REALLY help with this. It makes our adhd brains/bodies "click into gear", sparking our interest based nervous systems
Big, gentle hugs to this couple for being brave and accepting help, and to you and all your crew for what you do.
Took you a day of cleaning just to reach the area you were suppose to clean. 😳. Much respect to you and how you help. 👍👍
Agreed!
This couple is awesome for allowing Mack to help them with this BIG step!

Thanks for spin kicking mental health disorder stigmas out of TH-cam as often as you do. It makes my work a lot easier 😅
You have great Wolf Tub organization skills. Kudos!!
Aaaaaooooooooooo !
It was a strugglewith her to throwaway an apple that was breeding
fruit flies. :(
She's almost exactly what I could hope for in a mother except for the terrible hoarding habits.
Even on the rare, RARE day my headache goes down enough for me to drive there and clean, she won't let me do much.
And late
I appreciate the intentions, but i struggle to chip away at the mess she left in this house where she isn't around to be traumatized by my actions or stop me throwing away spoiled food.
@@andrewbrendan1579 thanks, your professional explanation makes perfect sense!
I was thinking that abt the kitchen, he did what he could to make it sanitary but those cabinets are absolutely ruined.
@@andrewbrendan1579I don't think the couple would have been able to afford hardwoods or new carpet.
Everything you do in these cleanings is geared to letting your clients change on their own terms. I’m glad they seek you out and trust you as they go through this process. Much better than the TV shows, more cleaning, less drama.
You're very kind. What a blessing you are to these people! ❤
Interesting the connection between hoarder disorders and cleaning supplies and creative desires.
*shiver*.
I’ve been thinking that too.
@@SMTRodent you are so brave and so much stronger than you think you are. Your post will encourage so many ❤
@@audreycasassa1683 Thank you!
That is hilarious!!😂
You are wise in the ways of tub wolves.
This is the way

Movement is a luxury. Huge effort…helping this couple is so important. I think you are giving them a great chance for a better existence. Bravo!

Very close to being done, I’m very pleased with my progress 😁
Thanks for helping this couple, and I commend them for being brave enough to allow you to help them 😊
Your videos should be required watching for anyone with a family member who is a hoarder, people who work with hoarders and hoarders themselves. You provide so much information it is like a master class. Thank you.
Now that’s a great idea.
And it's a good educational tool to teach the hoarders "Where do I start the cleaning and what area?"
I agree!
Such a good idea- I learn so much from MMC 😊
Agreed! MMC explains it so well 👍
I don't know if you're even aware if how much good you do. Okay, so from your videos I'm seeing my hoarding tendencies.
That's a cool story❤
Fantastic, demon bugs make something good happen ❤
Love that story!
I really think I'm lucky. When I am feeling ok ( bad arthritis) I clean what I can. It makes me feel better.

My mother was a hoarder. Thank you for seeing them as people, even in all this.

I hope we get to see this home to its end 💗 so happy this couple is able enough to start forward action I hope we see them get their happy home back!
Thank God for people like you helping others. 🙏
I’m proud of them too. Thank you for helping them.
Yes I love her channel she's really so educating in such a kind way
I know that hoarders can't just "clean it up" I really appreciate how you explain things and educate us while you are cleaning. Thank you
It is wonderful to hear they are going through the totes and keeping up with the dishes. Without your help this would not have been possible 😊
Thank you for all that you do!❤
The wolf advice was hilarious. Your humour has grown on me to the point where each video is funnier than the last 😂
You are a machine. I cannot believe your focus and non stop organizing and cleanup. I would be standing there not knowing what to do. I would venture to say it wasn't cleaned much earlier than 2018.

I don't know about anyone else but I think your narration is just adorable. I'm loving it! 🥰
And I think it's sorta cool that you spin kick for everyone who needs it. I mean clean their house for them, I think that's what I meant.
She (they) must really appreciate the way you help. No pressure, no judgment, just true assistance.
I like how you are so respectful of peoples belongings, even when watching it seems like it all should just be thrown out.
Love everything you do to help people ❤. Great job as always
Thank you Mack for all you do. You are a fine man with good morals.

I have to go tub my wolves now 😆
You made me laugh, Luann!
I am so hopeful for this couple that between therapy and you (you being a miracle worker) they can take their lives back.
I am so glad that you take the time to explain the issue of hoarding. I was one that had the sorry judgemental attitude of hoarders. I am so sorry for that attitude. What we don't understand should not give us licence to judge. What a huge heart you have!!! 🙏❤
❤
@bobbiejoyce1402 thank you for being a large enough person to admit that. I admire you.
Sort Like with Like and Wolves with Wolves. Got it! BTW-I'm very impressed with how you tackle these messes. Even more impressed with how the homeowners are sorting through the bins you leave and staying on top of the dishes. Very unusual. Kudos to them!
Your personality is 70% of why I watch these videos. I love cleaning videos but your personality makes them so much better 😂❤
Well done! 👍👍
You are very respectful. I like how you do not rush the process by going through the piles with your hands instead of a shovel.
@@catstateIn this case I'm worried that the air pollution is endangering the bird.
❤❤👊
I'm spending the night finishing our kitchen project while my husband is at improv. Happy to clean with you! Great work saving lives!
The commentary alone makes these videos worth it !!
Thank-you for all the explanations you give so that we understand what is or may be going on with your clients.
