I saw this in theaters when i was 8 as i grew up with the show in the late 80s and couldn't wait for the movie since it was announced in fangoria the previous year. This and Tales from the Hood and Body Bags are the most underrated 90s horror anthology films
Yes, this was the actual Creepshow 3. Fact is, "The Black Cat" story was supposed to have been in Creepshow 2 but they didn't have the financing for it at the time. Tales from the Darkside television series oddly enough is a spinoff from the original Creepshow movie. They were going to do a Creepshow television spinoff but decided to retitle and sell it as Tales from the Darkside. As the Tales television series was quite popular as it lasted 4 season, the producers decided to instead retitle Creepshow 3 as Tales from the Darkside in order to capitalize on the TFTD show popularity. Basically, Creepshow is Tales from the Darkside and Tales from the Darkside is Creepshow. It's all good.
