Suffering - in terms of holiness. Is very powerful. It Crucifies your flesh. And exalts the spirit. Esp thru intense fasting. Learn to fast. Frequently. Yul feel better.

anthtan depends on what u an handle. Mary says. Wednesday's. And Fridays. Nothing but water and bread. Padre Pio was extreme holy. He's go on fasts. No food for days. He barely ate enough to live on. One time I went 10 days. Nothing but water. Just basically. Eat very very little. So God can fill u. If your stuffed on food then God can't get thru. Gluttony is a very bad sin.
Okay.... you said that fasting would make one "feel better". Can you elaborate?

Tomorrow a nearby parish will be offering a 2nd-class relic of Padre Pio, one of his gloves! There will be a chance to venerate this relic all day, 9:00 a.m.- 9:00 p.m. and a Mass for Padre Pio at 7:00 p.m., and I am full of anticipation for this but don't know the best way to venerate such a relic! I am a returning Catholic (as of about a year and a half ago, and I am so thankful to our Lord and to Mary, who herself invited me back to her Son, Jesus, in the Eucharist!) and have not had much experience with holy relics. Please can someone advise me on the best way to approach such a relic and if I may bring rosaries and green scapulars to be touched to the relic that I may give these to loved ones who are struggling with faith, illness, injury, etc. Thanks for any help!

Thank you. It turned out to be a very special event, and I did just that, following the custom of the quiet crowd that gathered to honor Padre Pio. It was a holy atmosphere of love and joy surrounding the veneration of the glove and other 2nd-class relics (there was also a 1st-class relic, some locks of Padre Pio's hair), as well as his full brown mantle! I did not get to touch the mantle, most people didn't, as it was discouraged, but we could all touch our Rosaries, scapulars, etc to the reliquaries housing the relics. The Mass that followed was especially joyful, and the bishop gave a wonderful and inspiring homily of Padre Pio's love in the wounds of Christ, exhorting us to love Him like Padre Pio did, meditating on His wounds and loving others in their woundedness. I hope that any blessing that God can work through the articles and sacramentals I touched to Padre Pio's things will be a benefit to those who receive these special gifts. I was really grateful to be in attendance at this celebration.

One could say that through the failures of Pope Francis, much success has arisen, in the separating the wheat from the tares. If they come out from under Him, they prove they were not ever with Him, no?
