Great video again Can you do long coding with obd eleven can you show video if you can having trouble with traction control light on can't get the car to recognize the airbag module put the old module back on the traction light goes out but can't get the speed controller working with the old airbag module back on the car there's one pin less on my Old unit that must be responsible for the speed controller working I also have a mucar 07 scanner tool does most things but can't get the Long coding to recognize the airbag module thanks will have to buy the same scanner as you are using what version of scanner is yours thanks again great job I am 70 years old so bit slow but been a mechanic for 50 years still love doing all my own work and service take care

Salut :) Te ocupi cu montarea unui volan pe un autoturism? In momentul acesta am volanul identic cu al tau, fara comenzi si as vrea sa i cumpar unul cu comenzi si sa il leg la masina. Crezi ca ma poti ajuta? De unde esti?
Salut! Din pacate nu am timp sa fac asta. Deci nu te pot ajuta cu montajul. Dar daca urmezi pasii din video o sa il poti monta singur, nu este asa greu. 👍👍👍

Hi! Thank you! 🙏 I don’t understand the question. Without mfsw you can only change the info of the board computer with the wipers lever. Or is it something else? 😁

@mr.officer3011 I think not, the round airbag steering wheels are for the b8.5, where the module is different, the wheel has more buttons. So I think they are different, but I’m not sure 🤷♂️

Hi! I have never done it, but I assume the steps are the same. I did it for an Audi A4 B6 from 2002. Exchanged the steering wheel module (not the clock spring) and added the cc lever, coding and it worked.

Hi! Yes it is, for sure. I don’t have details, but I would start with checking the HW Part Number of the steering column control module, to see if it supoorts mfsw.
But in principle this retrofit cand be done easily. 👍
So i see you didnt need to change the steering wheel module as well in order for the buttons to function? I have the exact same steering wheel on a 2009 audi a3? Does it wary or do all models that have this same steering wheel have the module ready for the buttons to work if installed? I know some different models without multi functional steering wheel eg 4 spoke without the plastic caps you need to get the whole new steering wheel plus the module if you want it to work.
His module just already supports the function of the multifunction steering wheel ,thats why he didn't have to replace it .
Yes exactly. I’ve replaced the steering wheel module in another video when I’ve installed cruise control. (See my channel) You cand watch that video and you will also see a list of module codes that support MFSW. 👍
Ok thanks guys. I thought that this model had the module already since the wheel is upgradable without having to replace the whole thing, in which case i’d just get the controls install and code it because i have the same steering wheel on my a3.
Do you know if you Could you switch the wiring nav and asterisk button? I’m trying to skip songs on steering wheel. If you turn on joker on green menu it allows the asterisk to change track but I don’t have asterisk button.

Te salut am un Audi A4 B6 din 2003, și am schimbat volanul din fabrica care era în 3 spițe sport fără comenzi, și am pus tot volan de b6 dar în 4 spițe cu comenzi.
Dar comenzile și claxonul nu funcționează, ce trebuie să fac ?

Hi, I tried to do same thing with vcds, but I get "this appears to be an uninitialized control module". I try clicking Yes and No, but my change from simple to multifuncion steering wheel is rejected. Can you tell me whats wrong?

Salut scuze am un audi a4 2014 cu volanul in 3 spite dar nu am comenzi as vrea sa ii pun comenzi oare ce trebuie schimbat presupun ca tot volan, doar atat pot schimba doar covrigul cu unu cu comenzi si sa pastrez airbag-ul codat comenzile din vcds sau trebuie schimbat si altceva cum ar fii ''spirala volanului'' cea pe care se clipseaza airbag ul.. multumesc anticipat
Salut! In primul rand nu e necesar sa schimbi tot volanul, capacele pe care le ai acum pe volan se pot scoate si inlocui cu butoane, deci e de ajuns sa cumperi butoanele.
In al doilea rand ai mevoie de cablajul de la airbag, care iti comecteaza si butoanele cu modulul/spira.
Im al treilea rand trebuie sa vezi daca modulul/spira iti suporta comenzi pe volan (dupa cod), pe tru ca daca nu suporta va trebui sa il inlocuiesti si pe acela.
Poti sa imi zici daca ai deja cruise control?
Do you know if it’s possible to skips songs etc with the steering wheel when using the aux.
It’s not possible. I use aux a lot, it doesn’t work.
Did u change steering wheel module or just the multi functions on steering wheel?
Hi! I did changed the steering wheel module a few days in advance because I retrofitted also Cruise Control and my old module was not supporting this option.

Hi! Thank you! 🙏 yes you can. I have a friend who did this on his b8. Look for “ultimate diy” youtube channel, he has a video with this retrofit.
Regarding price I can’t really tell, it all depends om how expensive you can get used parts. But I can only estimate around 200-300$ if you don’t change the airbag. At least this is how much it would cost in my country. 😁👍
where can i buy buttons, how do i find them online?
I think that the easiest way is to buy them used. So maybe search for Audi Facebook groups in your country. This is how I bought mine.

Hi! No, you don’t need to change the airbag. But you need to change the airbag harness / cables, because the ones you have right now don’t have the connector for the mfsw. 👍

Salut! Nu am numarat cati pini, dar cel mai simplu iti dai seama daca verifici codul spirei/modulului. In video cu Cruise Control am pus si o poza cu Part Number de module si ce suporta. Verifica acolo.
Ca sa citesti codul de modul iti trebuie doar diagnoza, nu trebuie sa desfaci.

It means that the coding is not good. Maybe your steering column module does not accept this option. What is the steering column module code?

Hi! No. If you refer to my older videos, that’s a different car. It was an 2014 B8.5 A4 which had factory flat bottom steering wheel. 👍

Hi how to code new steering module in 2011 a4 all road ? I believe it’s been changed or something had because the buttons on steering wheel don’t work please help
Hi! You should follow the same process done by me. It might be that the steering wheel was changed but not coded.

@@istillplaywithcars hi the steering wheels is the same if I’m not wrong it’s just the steering wheel control module was changed with the wires and needs coding in, I guess I will need the old code to put into place of the new one… but I’m not sure how much appreciated for help
Understood! You don’t need the old code. Just go to coding and check the boxes of the things your car has installed. You will define the new code by this.
Are the 4 wheel controls valid for the 3 wheel?
Yes. I took mine from a 4 spoke steering wheel. 😁👍

Same as for B8. Once you have the vcds cable and software installed to your computer, find the OBD connector and plug the cable. The connector is also in the area of pedals, under the dashboard. 👍

Salut. Butoanele cu comanezi, in cazul meu am luat un volan in 4 spite fara airbag (250lei) si cablajul de airbag care sa aiba mufa pt comenzi (150lei).
Trebuie sa te asiguri ca modulul (spirala) suporta comenzi pe volan, altfel trebuie inlocuit si el. 👍

It’s the steering column module. You only need to change if it’s not compatible with MFSW. Please check my video where I retrofited Cruise Control. In that video you see also the list of control module codes and what they support! 👍

Yes, sure it works. If you have paddle shifters I assume you already have mfsw.

Understood. I recommend that you scan the car, get the code of the steering column module and google it. You can find if that module will support the mfsw.
It might be that you still need to change the wire harness because I assume it will not have the connector dor mfsw.
