In the video I will show the construction of the tower, assembly of the RV clean-out valve as the chute mechanism and how I constructed the funnel within the 55 gal drum that allows the feed to flow down through the 'dispenser chute'. Thanks for Watching! - Joe

    I am just finding these chicken coop videos since we are going to attempt to build one. I just have a suggestion that is dear to my heart. I noticed your lovely daughter please please take the time out to teach her everything you know about carpentry and working with power tools so she can build stuff on her own when she is grown. My dad was a carpenter and never took the time to teach me those skills so I never learned and I have a fear of power tools. So us girls who don’t know how have to depend on other people to build us stuff. He is no longer around but how I wish he would have taught me those skills. Believe me girls need to learn too. Anyway love your videos

      Thank you! Check out my DIY Bat House build. My daughter did a LOT of it with me… and yes I do try and expose her to all sorts of skills as she gets older. Even welding pretty soon too! She’s my little girl, but I also want teach her everything I know and more. (skills and life/wisdom stuff too)😊

  • @Smurphenstein
    @Smurphenstein 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Very cool. If that was mine I would put a 45 degree bend in the pipe and run it direct into the coop feeder. Love your designs, I have been watching since the wildlife water collectors. I reckon the thing you are making for your wife could be a paper bag storer and dispenser for plastic grocery bags. The other thing I thought was perhaps a ski holder. To be honest, I couldn't guess.

    Joe, Not entering either drawing, you give us so much by giving us a GREAT videos to watch. THANK YOU!
    I would consider using your design for dog food as it would keep it up out of the way, sealed away from rodents and it could be fitted with storage for other items in the bottom. I'll have to do some measuring to make sure it can go thru a doorway.
    I'm pretty sure you have a steam cabinet built but that leaves soo many things that you could make, from arms for a chair to wagon wheels.
    Marley is growing every time we see her, she may end up being taller than her Father.
    Again we appreciate the entertainment, ideas and knowledge that you provide to your viewers. Hope you and your family have a Safe and Merry Christmas.

    My experience with plastic gates and grain is they wear out fast, metal ones designed for a dust collection system do last... mine were in a corn vac system I used for the corn/pellet stove I use for heating. So they only got used in winter and the plastic ones would wear out every year and let corn dribble by. Plus they were not self cleaning... grain gets jammed in the grooves!
    You wifes present is a holder for hotdog/marshmellow forks for the camper!

    Really cool idea to use the RV clean-out valve. I will have to store that away, maybe for a shop dust collection system? My guess for your wife's steamed Christmas present is a set of needlework hoops. From the little bit of her we have seen on here, I could see her enjoying the hobby. But I could be way off base as well.
