0:51 There's actually an ATS which decides if your CV is seen by a human or not! Welcome! The real world is different in fact. I kniw too well this game

Thanks for your comment! It does depend on the company whether or not they use an ATS. While nearly 100% of Fortune 500 companies do, the majority of small and mid size companies currently do not. And yes, there are questions that may not have a resume advance any further but when it does you definitely want to be able to connect with the human who is reviewing the resume, calling for a phone screen and eventually interviewing you. When all is said and done, the ultimate hiring decision is still done by a human.....at least for now.....dun dun....:)

I'm sorry to have to tell you that, in reality, there are many automated services behind the review of the sent/received CV. As someone who tells stories and did extremely well in the first round of interviews (laughing with the interviewer, sharing experiences, and working toward a genuine connection), it means jack **** if someone else is a much better work fit or just cheaper labor. I have even gotten genuine feedback on why I was not picked, whereas the interviewer did not have to share this feedback with me. This works for smaller companies where you get to connect to the people that do the hiring ( CEO and similar ). Thats how I got most of my jobs. I didnt get any in big corporations, they are just machines.

Thank you for your comment! While every company is different, I'm drawing from my 15+ years of experience working for Fortune 500 companies, non-profits and a small family owned business where the goal was to find the right fit both in terms of work experience and from the human perspective. Unfortunately, there are companies that just want to hire the cheapest candidate and they are going to be spending A LOT more money in the end since turnover will be a lot higher!
