hahahaha! You're knives are not Knives!!! this is a Knife!!!
www.DBKshop.com HIHIHIHIHIHI! you fell for it
Please review it’s big sister, the Down under knives Mistress. Not only is it bigger, but has a better edge for carving.
its actually "your" ☝🤓(also please try out the tops longhorn bowie, although its an older knife you wont regret it)
Op Amazon staat er al klachten er over.
Mes niet scherp en niet te slijpen
Blijk een productie fout te zijn.
En bij sommige mensen al happen er uit.
Verder niet full tang .
Zat er al naar te kijken.
That’s what everyone says when they hold my knife! Good day mate

Two Dutch gentleman, speaking English, trying to do an Australian accent, pure gold.
Gentlemen? Where? Pair of rascals😂😂😂
@@augustoramirezdiaz4068😂👍
Fun fact: when you try to use TH-cam auto captions, half the time it recognizes them as Dutch despite speaking English...
@@augustoramirezdiaz4068unscrupulous cads!
@here_be_dragons9184 probably because a lot of English originated in frissia.
Stop trying to to make me spend all my savings each Thursday!
Love to DBK
hahaha sorry!
I have the carbon steel version of this beautiful knife. Because of the slippery handle I roughened the leather with a sanding paper and I changed the angle of the edge. Now it is a nearly perfect knife for all purposes. I've measured the edges Hardness, it is 58 to 59 with a softer backside.
Great knife!
Guter Tipp. Danke 👍
Good lord that’s a high Rockwell score no?
Bought this knife years ago as soon as it came out. Sold it shortly after. Not because it was slippery. Not because the edge was to far away...
...I was playing with it when sitting on my couch. Wanted to get comfy, pulled my knees up on the couch, not paying attention were I pointed this big ass blade, felt a little pinch, knew I did something stupid (again), looked at the tear in my pants and knew I stabbed myself in my bloody leg. 🥴
It wasn't the first time either I showed up at the General Practice Center with a self inflicted knife wound.
When the doc pulled up my file, he said: 'So, mr. Arends, you stabbed yourself again? Maybe it's time for a different hobby.' He was a funny smartass. 😂
Haha, unintentional self harm… with a twist 😆
i to have accidentally stabbed myself, took a half centimetre chunk out the tip of my thumb
You need to bring this down to Australia and do a collab with Pete.
Who is Pete ? Is he a TH-camr? 😊
“A very tiny chipje”-I love this channel 🇳🇱
hahaha
Represents the average Dutch IQ perfectly...
Yes!! My favorite youth movie 🎞️
Loved that movie back then. Beautiful knife 🔪 ❤
I'm from Western Australia and can tell you that is the best English accent I have heard. As for the knife it is worth $90aud and made in Pakistan out of old stainless steel sinks and pots. The knife belongs in the movie prop section only and could never be considered for that kind of application..😢
It would be like skinning a kangaroo with a spoon, it can be done but it's bloody hard work...😂😂🦘🦘
I thought the worst thing I have ever experienced was my bad divorce, but by crikey hearing 2 Dutch boys doing an Aussie accent was far worse...
The Dutch even ra** their own language...
I have waited so long for you guys to review this knife thank you :)
Sick a bowie, sadly most aren't that good tho i still want a good western style bowie that's classicly designed.
Where did you learn to write?
I’ve had one on my desk for years. Love it but it’s a display not a user.
Awesome review guys. Loved ❤ it.
thank you so much legend
You can always fix a lanyard in front of the guard and around your wrist 😮
Thanks for the videos guys!
Dankje dbk i asked for it a while ago i loved waching crocodile dundee on vhs this is a great video when i saw it i actualy screamd dbk bowie so loud
Haha. Thank you too man! We appreciate it
I think the key reason why it lacked performance in some tests is that it had a pretty dull grind as I think they assumed many would just buy it for hanging on the wall.
Sharpen it some and it would most likely work fine for all those tests.
It's literally a wall hanger😂 as a knife guy it's the one I honestly regret and wish I spent the 500 on something else
Been waiting for this one
ohhh…this is a childhood dream i didn‘t even think of… i need one
sexy beast of a knife 😅
I started watching you guys the other day. Really enjoying what you're doing. Great fun. Im in the process of going through every video. It might take me a moment or two. Hope it helps the algorithm. Whatever one of those is
🤣
impressed with this knife considering its a "movie knife" performed better than any Rambos personally
love this channel keep up the work lads! :)
Thanks a lot Legend
@@DutchBushcraftKnives ❤
Honestly as a small kid I used a Pakistan knife bought from a flea market that was very similar in material and design for all my woodland adventures. The mild steel kept it from shattering in my hand while I abused the ever loving snot out of it. A little older I got into the carbon steels and was disappointed by them as I kept breaking them and didn't know why lol
this seems legit, and not a reach for attention. ; )
@@kejadventures241
Your mom reached for attention last night.
@@kejadventures241dumb comment
@@kejadventures241 not really, im just saying you don't always need these 500$ knives to go play in the woods. And also the difference I learned about Carbon steels and Stainless ones. A chopper/machete I found is best in Aus-8, your belt knife is best at 1095 hc, and for a folder any swiss army/Leatherman/buck in 440 is great but if you want performance cutting get a Higo-no-kami. And thats mainly all you could ever need in the world of kniving
@@old_timey_prospector that was your hand last night?
Epic video as always, have you ever thought about trying more Helle knives. I would love to see the Helle Lappland! Cheers guys!!!
Back in the 80’s every kid who went camping wanted either a Bowie Knife - Croc Dundee style, or a Rambo knife. Unfortunately after one camping trip many of these knives got designated to the ‘random knife and tool box’ in the garage 🇳🇱 🇳🇿
Finally awesome video
Love this channel!
It’s a NOVELTY TOY ! Movie memorabilia. Too serious you take it 😂
Ive only just discovered your channel. Where have you guys been all my life lol. Im going to go through every single video and like and comment on every single one. You see if I don't lol. Might take me a minute or two.
My very first bowie wall hanger!! Bought it for €160,- way back when!! Thanks for putting her through some discomfort for our viewing pleasure!!!
The best survival knife is the one you have in hand when shit happens 😮
Great video.
👉👍👈🖖
Can y’all test the condor undertaker bowie? No one has a good video out :/
I asked for that last month , got this review instead …. I have the condor it would score better in their tests , 1075 steel hole for lanyard …. Sharp too !
My passion for knives started when I was a child with this movie. I never bought it because I only buy knives to use them not to collect them, but it remains my all-time favorite
I am an aussie and I have this knife for the looks of it, great review guys funny as usual
By far my favorite episode 🤣 so good…
Great entertainment, as always.
Are you guys going to test Cold Steel Recon Scout?
Another great video. I have a Sabertooth made by Dulo and it is a great chopper.
Best trick with kangaroo is marinade it before cooking. Something sweet like a chutney, or jam, some bbq sauce or Worcestershire, salt and pepper, let it side for 30-60 minutes. Takes the game flavour out of it. I find roo meat slightly unpleasant without marinade. Same for venison, to be honest. As for the knife, I think it’s a wall hanger by design, not really intended for survival or bush work, but it is usable. Great video boys.
I would absolutely love to see you pair do a remake of Crocodile Dundee!!
I can’t make decide which one of you lunatics got the best accents ohh hell I will call it a draw. As for the gentle underhand throw of the knife up into the air and sticking it into the tree stump.
I think I can feel your frustration Mikkie B at how easily Maarten just casually walks away 😂 but just think you make tripping over a thing of grace 😂😂.
Yet again lads can’t thank you two enough for the lift you two give my brain every week with your style of knife reviewing and altogether light hearted comedy 👍🏼 stay safe and healthy lads and have a cracking weekend till next Thursday 🫵🏻😘👍🏼
Would love an episode comparing small fixed blade EDCs, like the Brisa Necker, ESEE Izula, Peltonen Ranger Cub, etc..
So disappointed you did not get one of those hats with the corks hanging off 😞
Had this knife for years but never used as didn’t want to damage it.Looks like it can take it 😮 👍🏻
Great review as always, love you guys! 👍(ps: waar kan ik die grill kopen?)
Thank you for this video. I am a great admirer of this knife, by the way, where did you get the hat?
I always wanted this knife because of the movie. Looks like a quality blade and not some junk.
Martin is soooo good at testing if leather is slippery or not...he must have lots of practice...
This calls for the recon scout cpm 3v ??
About damn time!
Something I learned from elk meat was that sometimes with gamey meats, if you cook it in (instead of roasting in a pan with water) or marinate in Lipton Onion Soup mix, it makes a big difference.
This would be good as a pair. And a lanyard hole. Big chopper and slasher, combined with a smaller knife for carving and small cutting.
The next movie knife should be the golden child
I cant pronounce it either😄
Cool classic knife,
But I’m not sure how much I would trust it as a hard use
You guys should test out off grid knives, especially the caiman xxl
Awesome video. Is there a way to tie your hand to some handles without a hole?
duct tape :D
Rubber bands
Love the Australian 🇦🇺 accent!! I live in New Zealand and hunt with a sizeable Bowie knife. Only it’s a Fallkniven NL2 Odin Bowie. Now that’s a knife! 🇳🇱 🇳🇿
Surprised it held up it’s got a horrible rat tail tang
I thought the knife used in the film was made by Linder (Solingen)...
Who needs feathersticks! Everything here just catches fire. If it can chop up a gum tree and stab a croc for dinner, its an aussie bushcraft knife haha 🇦🇺
Good job on the vid, accents and bush tucker! 👍👍
I’ve been waiting so long for you to do a down under knife!!! They make some big claims so was never sure if it would actually be worth the money
Finally, the ritual will be completed. All of time and human history has coalesced to form THIS video by THESE people about THIS knife!!
It was okay.
While it's not a thing I have much use for, it's good to know that it's at least well built.
I thought Mikki was in the thumbnail with the hat 😅
Would have been interesting to see how the knife would do with a DBK edge put on it first.
"That's not a knife... THIS is a knife!x
"No, that's a spoon."
"I see you played knifey spoony before"
What kind of steel is it? Loved that movie.
Dual Heattreatment 440C
Hey have you seen the new bushcraft knive from Fritz Meinecke a very popular outdoor kanal in Germany. Would love to see how you shoot the knife 😂. Please make a video. I love your work 🎉
Ontario SP10 is a similar style knife with better handle for chopping and it is not expensive for what it is. You must test it.
I've seen one example of the tang breaking while batoning, due to the stacked leather handle making it too skinny. I would never baton with a knife anyway.
All these movie knives make me stick with my 40 year old Marine K-Bar made by US Camillas. It's been through hell and back and is still great. GySgt USMC retired.
As an Aussie I was embarrassed to see you found these knives; knowing how you test your knives, these were never going to hold up to your scrutiny. These are for show, not for use, basically a glorified movie prop.
As for the kangaroo meat, it's a really fine line to cook that right. It has quite a unique taste and turns from tender to tough super fast. Pepper and salt were good options, you can also add garlic and rosemary to tackle that sweet gamey flavour.
Great video as always though! Love your work!
P.s. I honestly can't believe you didn't break this knife!!
Hello Maarten and Mikkie, when y'all find a handle slippery, you could wrap it with with a tacky wrap, such as used on tennis racket handles... Other wraps may be offered elsewhere to combat such. That was a great flick, for sure. Keep up the good work and vids... Be safe and take care, "God Bless", sincerely, Randy. 😇🙏👊
P.S.: How's the cameras doing?
I'm going to make that knife in full tang out of a 8mm leafspring soon
Beautiful knife.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
That’s a sword 🗡️
Great review guys in fact a "Beauty Matey". Though I didn't see a skinning of a crocodile. "Didjahavagoodday" filming in it!
A friend has this knife and while chopping down a lot of bushes and branches in his backyard i was surprised how good it performed.
But its too big and heavy for me personally.
MARTIN: I like big knives and I cannot lie...
Would love to see the Busse Team Gemini knife use in "The Walking Dead" TV series.
Struth top tucker sunshine!
Nice knife! .-)
Thanks. I would not buy it, but it is cool. I have very similar knife - Coldsteel Wild west Bowie. It is a great chopper. And, yes, you need a paracord so that it is safe to chop.
"There's a shark in the water!" is the easiest statement to make you sound Australian.
Weak 1 of asking you guys to test the Southern Grind Grandaddy machete
Can anyone tell me where i can find that Kind of Bonfire Grill the are using or what it is called?
Tjmmetalworks he makes them himself. Great dude and not too expensive
If you need the lanyard, tie it around the unsharpened recasso and wrap part of the loop around the front horn of the guard. Shouldn't get in the way since you'd be holding the handle so far back.
Also tips for cooking kangaroo from an Australian: you want it more on the rare side. About 3 minutes per side and a 3 minute rest. If you cook it too much it'll go tough like a boot and you'll end up with a sore jaw and a shit meal.
And if you want a good marinade to soak it in, rub it with brown sugar and massage that into the meat and then leave it in a container full of Guinness overnight (same marinade works for steak and pork, I just used it more commonly with kangaroo).
Two dutch feller, used by an Australian actor, invented by Jim Bowie in Arkansas.
With a knife like that an Aussie can scare the skin off a rabbit in 5 seconds flat. It doesn’t have to be sharp. Roo’s take a bit longer.
Yup, that's definitely how we all sound hahahahahahaha
A wrist cord could go around the base of the blade, but that's a pain when there are better choppers out there.
Ppl say that best survival knife is a 12 inch machete, Dbk maybe in one day you test a machete for example a tramontina 12inch
Thanks for another happier Thursday guys. At least they made that one tough. Is there the same saying in Dutch, " If you're going to be stupid you better be tough." ? ANYHOW, on another topic, any idea what the wait time is for a malanika puukko? (Which is the opposite of a stupid, obviously!)
P.S. Daniel says 10 months...
It must be a down under knife from John from crock Knives awesome 🕊
Ik was surprised it didn't break untill i saw the big roll. They must have changed steel or heattreatment cause mine broke like glass at the handle 9 years ago. Turned out it was a well known fault in this knife back then.
Hej. Tune this knife in your next video 😉
Regrind it, change the handle, make the back sharp, add lace...
Just as you could build such a knife.
That could be cool 👍
Nee joh!!
Zat twee weken geleden aan dit te denken!!
En nu, afgelopen Donderdag...
'That's not A knive, THIS is A knive!!'
'Dutch Knive Exibition!!'

please test the SOG seal team
Of coarse you guys know it’s designed to stab through crocodile skulls,
What kinds of pectoral workouts do you do, Maarten?
Mostly just bench press and incline bench press. They are.my favourite!
