BTW you're getting better with RED everyday, i guess you're setting new standards in this vlogging game here :D
To the people who say it's boring when they just film a "normal day" and nothing "entertaining.. But that's the thing they dont have to do extreme entertaining stuff all the time. This is their life and they're vlogging each and every day of the year. It's enough that we just get to see their day and how it looks like those days when they're not travelling the world! They do more entertaining and xtreme stuff than anyone. They should not need to force "entertaining" content, for me this is entertaining. I believe that if they would feel the pressure to get "good" content everyday it would be so false and not fun to watch and they would not be as happy as they are now.
Creator Fawad given that they shoot lots of stuff with high frame rates they most likely shoot 6K and master in 4K since the Epic-W can only shoot 25/30fps in 8K & 7K. Only the RED Weapon can do 75fps in 8K. Ultimatly it doesn't matter...

The RED looks amazing in the slow shots w/ the background music (like 0:37 until 1:15 and 3:14 until 3:35). But I liked it more when Leica was used in the normal shots (Normal speed and when you guys are talking). The RED feels too cropped in during the normal parts, like everything feels too close such as everyone's faces (For example 3:39 onwards). :-)
100% agree, working on that. The issue is that the camera is so new that it does now have all the software relesed yet. once that comes we will be able to shoot in different settings making the shots way wider. Now we have an 18mm lens on but the crop on the stting we have makes it a 47mm. So just hang tight, updates are coming!
Even if there's not loads going on in these vlogs they are so watchable because the video is gorgeous! I bet there are pro film makers who would kill for your gear and Marcus editing skills.

Johan Maud Personally I think they need eachother. Without Jon no crazy / fun activities to fill the vlogs and without Markus no crazy editing. So they balance eachother which makes these vlogs so good! And Janni ofcourse is a joyful lady to watch!
When I started in the business I shot on a Newman Sinclar, I edited on a Moviola and joined each 35mm shot with cement. What a joy to see such quality from the Red. I look forward to more montage, after all it is so easy on FCP. Best wishes Barney

Ignore what people were complaining about, the video is stellar. And of course when you have that high quality of video it's not gonna get stabilized with a program because that just downgrades the quality. Everything is great and naturally flows.

Random challenge for you Marcus and Jon, you have amazing equipment but for the aspiring youtuber we start off with the most basic of cameras (with no lenses sometimes just an iphone, with no editing software) would you guys be up for the challenge of doing a super low budget version as a blog and make it look good, i don't know why i think that would inspire a whole slew of hundreds of thousands of people, you're not just a regular vlogger so it'd be an interesting perspective to see what you do when you don't have the amazing cameras and another type of editing program. Marcus, the colors look so great! When is the editing workflow vlog coming? Are you still using the Osiris LUT.? The colors remind me of the Portra film stock. Keep it up!

With this red camera your videos became purely amazing! The look that this sensor produces is awesome. The colors are similar to the bmd pocket cam, which I think is the best in that regard among all bmd cameras, but this red has incredible slowmo and 8k resolution. Hopefully, blackmagic will introduce pocket v2 someday with the similar specs as this red cam. Great grading job, by the way! Is it filmconvert? Anyways, just wanted to tell you that now It is much more pleasure to watch your videos than it was with leicas. In my opinion it was a right decision to go this "filmic" road with the red instead of staying on the videoish look of your previous cameras.
You guys will eventually move on with your lives, get kids and not sleep on the couch (all the time), but for now... I think you guys rock together and radiate positive energy. Thanks for making us smile so much! :)
I love these guys, and Janni! they have great personalties and such mellow awesome attitudes about life, their general demeanor is so carefree and excited for adventures but I must admit a small part of me wishes they saved some of the $$ they spent on the RED and went on more adventures like Komodo island, bali, LA My favorite "shots" from all their blogs are john and Janni's morning walks in spain, the gokarting/trackday from marcus and John, their LA hiking shots, and the entire bali/komodo trip and anything on the boat with Richard... and of course the formentera/mallorca trip...where john was director/actor/producer....on a boat. I know they are just getting started with the RED, but so far low light looks and sounds pretty rough...needs color grading (saw johns comment about waiting on the It/Coding/programing science") and i can't tell if they are switching to their iPhone to film in the house but the video quality even in 4k on my mac does not look near as crisp, sharp, or color tone quality as the old set up. I'm sure with their passion they'll only improve in time... but i agree i wish they worked on their "style/shot creativity" more then worried about equipment... instead focus more on high quality ARTISTIC content...because I can tell they have the ability in them and the PASSION. My thoughts are tho that perhaps the RED just isn't a productive setup for their mobile/traveling style of life...I honestly think it would be better for longer form format of 20 - 30 min... maybe if they cut back from daily blogging to weekly...and did a mini-movie using the red about an entire adventure that might make more sense, but i honestly miss them using just the leica and a gimbal and the simplicity and mobility they had with the smaller cameras and drones. keep up the Good work guys... love watching. Yes, they used to film 4k with the leica, but when they upload it on youtube it goes down to 1080p, but now its officially 4k! :)

this camera doesn't really do low light, it's designed to be well lit in a cinema environment :/
