Compared to Zhao Yun or Han Xin or Lu Bu???
Han Xin was certainly much more famous or at least probably better since the Chinese called him "Bing Xian / 兵仙" or The immortal of soldiers and were held in much higher position militarily than Xue Rengui, But Rengui himself was indeed outstanding in term of military achievements, his only loss was cause by Guo Daifeng in battle of Da Fei Chuan. But he win all others and he fought on much wider scale geographically than Han Xin, from Korea, Manchuria, to Mongolia or probably even Southern Siberia and to part of Central Asia all the way to Qinghai Tibet border.
As for Zhao Yun and Lu Bu, these two wouldn't hold a candle to Xue Rengui in term of military achievements or even on martial scale or fighting prowess, not even close. Xue Rengui had both their combined efforts beat in an order of magnitude, you can even add in Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, or some other military generals of Three Kingdoms but Xue Rengui would still be far superior.
The only probably one guy that had lots of military achievements or some other administrative achievements that can be compared to Xue Rengui during Late Eastern Han just before Three Kingdom era was Cao Cao, no other came close.
Xue Rengui was like Cao Cao, both can be outstanding military tactician or strategist, while also possessing outstanding political and administrative ability. The only two different between the Cao Cao and Xue Rengui was that the former held utmost power by controlling the emperor and acting like a regent and can do whatever he wished for, this was what Xue Rengui can never even dream of, while the later was the most ferocious general in early Tang Dynasty or even entire roughly 3 centuries of Tang history who can even scare the shit of more than a 100K of fiercest nomadic warriors into submission and was also probably the best fighter as well in Tang history, a man who could even wrecked enemies battle formations by himself and always caused disorder and chaos among enemy ranks when he single handedly charged into them before the Tang armies joined the battles, this was something that even many of Cao Cao fiercest generals combined could never hope to achieve.

@@zhuangsaur227 Bai Qi and Wang Jian were better overall as commander in chief in terms of tactic and especially grand strategy. As for Li Mu i think probably roughly comparable, as for Lian Po, i think Xue Rengui was better overall.
Wu Zixu or Sun Zi or Jiang Ziya were certainly was more famous in term of their arts of wars or something like that, but Xue just had achieved more in his life than those three, as for Zhang Liao, even if he was a good Three Kingdoms general, he was still far below in achievement compared to Xue Rengui.
But if you compare martial prowess and ferocity, than Xue still win. Xue Rengui was more akin to people like Xiang Yu / Xue Andu / Gao Changgong / Yuchi Jingde / Qin Shubao / Li Cunxiao / Wang Yanzhang / Yue Fei / Yang Zaixing and the likes as in terms of battlefield prowess in fighting.
Let me put it this way so you can compare this by yourself, Xue Rengui was an overall very balance general in term of everything, he was very capable of tactics and strategies in military, he was a very capable administrator in governing territories, he was also extremely exceptionally formidable as a warrior on battlefield whether in melee combat or archery, you can safely said he was an all rounded general overall in term of everything which was among the rarity even in world history if you count all generals that had existed in the world.
And ultimately he was a high achiever in so many things. Real life historical Xue Rengui was better than Xue Rengui in the novel, which was a rarity in itself, usually when people wrote novel, the characters usually will be exaggerated or blown out of proportion, Xue Rengui was formidable in the novel, but historically he was even better with much more achievements than in novel.
If i remember correctly, People like Tang Taizong, Tang Gaozong, Tang Xuanzong, Song Taizu, and early Ming Emperors and generals commented on his prowess and giving him thumbs up for what he had done. History also commented on him favorably as well. This was seldom seen historically. You can see the praises those guys gave him historically, and you will understand he was indeed very formidable and outstanding.
Just one thing, despite the fact he defeated, pacified, and conquered so many places, the conquered places that he administered and when he was summoned by the Emperor and left, the natives on those places build so many temples in order to honor of him to show their love towards him as an outstanding administrator and achievements. His Temples in the past spread from North Korea, Liaodong/Manchuria, part of Northern China, Qinghai & part of northeastern Tibet to as far as Guangxi region.
