I am interested in for example what to wear on certain occasions (restaurant, party, date, office etc.) with a classy/stylish/old money style. Or maybe a "go shopping with me" where you can recommend items in stores or say why some items are not good and should be avoided. Also maybe a video about good coats for when the autumn comes?

Love you channel, such great advice. A video to show how evening wear, black tie could be done elegantly. I would love your advice on what to wear to a Gala dinnear, I will be flying to the city (so can't bring much luggage). And it is in October, so suitable options for coat or jacket etc to wear over a gown.

A lot of the “elegant” or “classy” style influencers tend to stick to black, white, camel, and blue, whether or not those colors complement their own tones. I recommend everyone get familiar with their personal color palette!

I had my seasonal color analysis done and I am a bright spring.. I don’t have any problem looking expensive wearing bright colors but that is probably because brightness is what suits me the most. If I wear colors that are not in my color palette, I look drained and older and my skin just looks very unhealthy, so I can’t follow most of these rules. When I do wear my colors, I glow like I just spent $500 at a spa. I don’t buy anything that is polyester though, and I have a physical color palette from my seasonal analysis and everything has to be in my color palette or I won’t buy/keep it. Generally I only buy silk, cotton, various wools, linen and nicer viscose… and I am very mindful of the lines of every piece. I wear one print at a time and then solid colors from the print in the rest of the items. Also I am very artistic so I can easily put colors together.. what I am saying is there are definitely people who can pull off being very colorful but I do admit that it is not for everyone. The whole look has to look very intentionally and flawlessly designed, but if you master this it really makes you stand out in a good way.

Bright, clear Spring here also & agree, but I can also use the neutrals from our pallette especially in winter (Ireland 🇮🇪 lots of grey, wet weather) . I love dressing in summer time when I can bring out all my Brights. A red lipstick really helps as well, or fuschia

    • @HeatherHasGame
      @HeatherHasGame 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

@@adriennebrown3778 totally agree. It is basically impossible to find nice winter clothing in super bright colors, or at least for nice coats and boots etc. Off-white is a good choice for me, and same with the lipstick. I basically always have to wear a bright lipstick no matter what. As soon as I put it on, my face becomes more visible. I personally go for coral and red the most but hot pink is also really good to switch to when wearing pink clothes.

Thank you 🙂 I like subtle colors on other women. But I look sick in beige, pastel colors and blue or black (because of my light olive skin). I need to find ways to look tastefully in colors that naturally suit me, rather than wearing "elegant colors" and looking sick 🙂 The same applies to clothing cuts and fabrics 🤔🫣

Hi. I have just spent the weekend in Dublin with my son and his wife. Obviously I was sending photos to lots of people and I (following your advice) had a camel coat and tan leather boots, and a combination of outfits based on grey, navy and burgundy, plus grey bag, 2 scarves (one grey and one navy). Absolutely every person who commented on my photos said how elegant I looked! Plus the outfits worked for dinner in the city and a walk in the rainy mountainside...thanks you for your help!

I realized this is part of the reason Ellena Hue looks good in colors - she chooses a lot of collared shirts, tailored pieces, and has a slim build. But I’m struggling to determine if certain things like pockets, shirt-tail hem midi skirts, or pleated pants are or are not an “expensive cut”

Super easy rule about mixing prints: same colors, different scale. One should be a large overall print and one should be a tiny graphic print, with identical colors. Just a thought.

Talking about prints for older ladies at 6:24, the word my mom always used for those tiny cutesy prints was chintsy.
Which has the connotation of cheap. But the denotation is what those small tight prints literally are, which is chintz.
She said chintz only looks good on children or historical costume haha. But to never wear chintz as an adult.

It appears that the distinction between 'pastel' and 'bright' colors is closely tied to the nature of the fabrics used. In the natural world, it is uncommon to find plants, creatures, or living beings displaying such intense, vivid hues. Therefore, it is likely that fabrics exhibiting these bright colors are manufactured using synthetic or human-engineered materials, often associated with lower production costs, contributing to a more artificial or fantastical appearance.

Your videos are always very sweet but a lot of these 'expensive' looks fall into a narrow-ish interpretation of expensive. They're quite samey and conservative... having your colours done is a game changer for people wanting to look expensive. As a deep autumn, I look horrendous in pastels and they look cheap on me too. I could not disagree more with the pastel centered philosophy.
They are bland and baby pink and baby blue look extremely boring and drab.
Pastels look awful on many skin tones as well.
    Yuck.
I’m surprised there wasn’t a philosophy around deep jewel tones. Deep jewel tones like dark emerald and burgundy, maroon, plum, indigo and deep mustard tones and terracotta and sienna.
These deep bold colors are rich looking! Especially when in the form of texture like satin and suede, silk and tweed and wooden button or mother of pearl buttons or abalone. Even deep orange in linen with sea shell buttons.
Truly boring “safe” fabrics like cotton in pastel are not flattering on too many people.
Color and texture have endless possibilities on a wide variety of skin tones.
And if playing with pastel it’s easier to add hues to neutrals.
For example, grey with a lavender hue, or grey with green hue. Or tan with the mauve hue as in blushy taupe.
Or browns with the maroon hue.
I find this approach much more universal.
