I love that little mesh pouch - I have a full set of mini and small lace needles in it, with a varieties of cables, all the adapters and end pieces, a pair of embroidery scissors, a retractable measuring tape, and the small white ChiaoGoo plastic case with all my markers. It all fits in that tiny pouch! I bought a lovely case for the set, but the mesh pouch is just so compact that I just want to stick with that.
I love the Chiaogoo interchangeable knitting needles that I have. My husband bought me the complete 5" set several years ago. More recently he bought me the two shorty sets.
I just started knitting & I love my chiaogoos! I do find the mini cables kink a tinnnnyyy bit if you’re a little to harsh with them I think just because how thin they are but the cables are great I find!
You have a beautiful collection. I love Chiaogoo so much that I thought all I needed was 1 set since they are not cheap. Well.... within a year, I had both bamboo and stainless in both lengths, then got the shorties and then the 5" minis. What I also love is no matter the project, I can just switch out tips/cables when going from neck to body... sleeves to cuffs. I also don't care for magic loop. It's an expensive investment but it lets me transition smoothly as I knit.
That's my favorite part too, doesn't matter what project I am starting I have all the tools I need from start to finish :D Have you seen the new needles and cables coming out?! They're so pretty! I am definitely getting the new cables atleast to try out.
@@hookedinaflash I was going to mention those needles but thought... maybe I'm chatting too much! 😂😂😂😂 You know those needles are on my list later this year. Just like my yarn supply, I do not need any more, but they are oh so lovely. I just hope the price is not astronomical. I was lucky to buy all my sets at a good price, but the pandemic has caused too many price hikes.
No you chat away! :D I am hoping they aren't too expensive as well, I really want a set just because they are so pretty hahaha! I was super fortunate to grab my supplies before the price hike too thank goodness.
@@hookedinaflash I feel that they are the best of both worlds and I'm glad Chiaogoo went on all to create what could be - I hope - the perfect set of needles. For starters, the tips are the long, tapered metal tips we all love with red lace and most of the needle is made of wood. Not only is this beautiful, it means those who can not knit with metal needles(due to arthritis) can use them as they will have the warmth of the wood but the pointy tips. I also like the cables and it seems CG had to match what Mindful collection has - the memory-free cable that also spins. I hope the needles are durable and there are no issues with tips falling off. And of course... they are gorgeous. So many times companies release new sets without any improvement on design. CG seems to have captured both design and function.
Wow! You are the ultimate ChiaoGoo gotta have it all, lady. I do a lot of sock knitting and have bought extra sets of the 3” on many of the sizes as with toe up socks with gussets (my current favorites) on the gussets and toes I don’t switch to Magic Loop and have the 2” cables and can make my own version of Flexi-Flips but often knit with two circus. The HiyaHiya straight adapters are definitely something to want to get. Cool scissors! Love that your children knit with you.
@@hookedinaflash In Europe, all children learn to knit, both boys and girls. Their scholastic achievements outstrip Americans and I am sure knitting has much to do with it. Knitting is a skill which uses a lot of the brain, and when the brain is awake, it can learn better. Your children will be brilliant, like their mom! My dad died of Alzheimer’s. I am 68, if I find a day my memory isn’t sharp, I knit until the hardest pattern I can find is perfect and is worked easily. We can repair the brain and knitting is key in my arsenal to fight the disease which robbed my father 15 years of not knowing who he was.
That's so cool they teach knitting in your schools! I completely agree with you! Knitting and crocheting both help so much with memory and concentration as well as with anxiety. I am so sorry about your dad, I'm glad you have knitting in your arsenal :D
Thank you for your video! Should the small to large adapter be from Hiya hiya of from Chiao goo? Or does the large straight needles from Hiya hiya also fit with the large Chiao Goo needles?
So the size 2-3 in the shortie set use mini cables right? Vs the ones in the regular set that use small. The reason the pockets are reversed is so that they will lay closed properly, it would be too unevenly bulky to have two sets of 15 on the same side
Where did you get the mesh pouch for your cables? You said you can buy it separately. I must have it! lol Also, where can I buy extra cables for the 5” set??
You can buy the mesh pouch and cables on Amazon or you could see if your local yarn shop carries them. If you buy from Amazon make sure it's from Amazon and not a seller because there have been lots of fake chaiogoos being sold unfortunately
If you put the shorties sets in your mesh bag, with all the cables, does it still fit inside your case? I got a complete set and a mesh bag for cords (because of your amazing video!) I’m going to get the blue and yellow shorties; I’m really hoping I can store them all in the main bag 🥰
www.threadandmaple.com/products/needle-binder This is very expensive (to me anyways) but you can add pages to it to accommodate all of the sets I think
I saw so many recommend that! It’s a little too pricey for me right now.. I think I’ll try different ways to get the shortys and cables all in the main case/mesh case, and if all else fails just keep the mesh case on the outside and band them to the main case ❤️ Maybe if I split between the front zipper pocket and the mesh case I can squish them all in 🤞🏼
The shorties have a hook on them, maybe you could just add a little loop that they could attach to on the front? If you wanted to be crafty you could also get a second case and sew the two together!

Agreed. You have to be just a bit careful with the mini cables

@@courag1 I agree that teaching children to knit and even crochet when young would be a benefit to them. :)
the thrid on the chiagoo largie needel is short the hia hia is longer
Red mini ones I use to make socks
Me too, they're perfect 🥰
The hiya hiya straight adapters fit the chiao goo needles??!! How did you come across that? That's amazing I want them too 😍
Only the small size BUT you can buy the small to large adapter so that you can use your large needles too 😉

You want the small to large adapter from chiaogoo and then the small straight adapter from hiya hiya 😊
The hiya hiya needles do not fit the chiaogoo accessories, the screw is too long

Mine aren't reversible. Some pickets are bigger than the others, they aren't size up accordingly like the other pockets
The sizes 0 (2mm) up to size 3 (3.25mm) all use the mini cables in the shorties set
*pockets Maybe I should order another pouch and see if mine is sewn wrong 🤔
there is a bamboo set too :)
Yes! I prefer the metal ones myself but I really like the feel of the bamboo too
I checked on Amazon, and don't see a complete set that includes 4" and 5". If you purchased your set on Amazon, can you send me the link?
There isn't one. I bought a full 4 inch set and a full 5 inch set

it is for small not large i trid i have both sit
The depth is longer for the hiyahiya but you can thread the chiaogoo into the straights.
For the small straights only, the large does not work but you can get a small to large adapter and then use your large needles
Ok
Please video in the landscape mode. So hard to watch when you do it in portrait. Thanks. Did like the products though.
Thank you so much for the input! I will try and make my next videos in landscape. And thank you for watching.
Do you prefer the 4" or 5" tips?
I prefer the 5 inch tips
Where did you get this set? Never seen 4" and 5" as a set
I got them on Amazon.
