I don't know the percent chance of recruiting him in blue/red rescue team, but in my guidebook for Explorers of sky, that I had from when I was a kid, gave tips on recruiting kecleon. It said to use a Lv 100 Pokemon with the fast friend IQ skill, have the golden mask (from zero isle north) and the mobile orb so you can go through walls. It also said that even with all these requirements (Lv. 100, fast friend, and golden mask) there is still only a .1% chance of recruiting him. Not 1%, .1%!
You won't believe what happened when I first recruited a Kecleon. That omniscient something rose out and ruined everything. And here I thought things wouldn't get worse from when that new Registeel fell down a Pitfall Trap...

the madlad is at level 90 when you get him, he technically is the highest level Pokémon you will encounter in the entire game. Maybe not, I still think so

4 years ago, I got my Togeti to max IQ, max level, and evolved it into Togetic. He is insanely overpowered, he can walk on air, water and even lava etc. He has a 100% accuracy with normal attacks, all dealing around 259 dmg. However, this all comes at a cost. He has terrible defence and health, I found myself dying first hit from everything. So Yh 😂😂
I still have PMD Blue and I've been trying to recruit Kecleon for so long that I have up. I never thought of searching this tutorial up. I'm so dumb... XD Now I wish my 3DS works again... ;-;
Another thing to keep in mind is the Pokemon's defenses. So Pokemon with alot of Defense like Aggron, anybody Steel probably or even Rock would be good to absorb the damage while you do this. But I really like this video. I definitely will use it when I get further in my game to get Kecleon
When u havent saved in a while on psmd, and accidently took an oran berry from kecleon, but you dont have enough money, so u just ran and used all your wands to petrify the kecleon, and finally moved to the next floor

What you need is an energy drink called Protein to give the pokemon you're using more attack. They're mostly found in Westurn Cave. Another option would be to feed that pokemon Gummies at their friend area, and it doesn't matter which color at all.

Managed to get Kecleon on my first attempt years ago and cleared Wish Cave, Joyous Tower and Purity Forest with it. It is in my mind one of the Top 5 pokemon in the game.
1. Use Mobile scarf. 2. Learn rock smash. 3. Go to the right bottom square of a room and use rock smash to break the wall that is 1 square down and 1 right. 4. Go to that square. Wait for Keckleons. Equip recruitment object and use cut corner attacks. 5. Here you have a perfect safe place where Keckleons won't be able to hurt you, since they don't have any cut corner attack. I'll use this strategy because I think it's perfect. I'll told you if it is.
Hehehe My cousin was playing threw Red Rescue Team for the first time and he was in Mt. Blaze. Then he found a Kecleon Shop, and took everything, then the Kecleon asked if he was gonna pay, and he answered No. I said out loud (didnt mean to say it out loud though) ''Hehehe, the poor fellow don't know whats coming for him'' ROFLMAO
You can get Calcium, Protein, Iron, and Zinc in Westurn Cave. They increase your stats permanately. You can also wish for more strength and the end of Wish Cave.
I highly recommend lv up a registeel (i think ice/rock works just fine, but metagross/torkoal are inferior because they have no one-tile aoe, tentacruel is the worst cuz he's weak to psybeam) just to recruit a kecleon. Never risked dying to screech thanks to clear body. It can learn curse and amnesia, making him virtually invincible while able to ohko kecleon with basic attacks. It can also learn lock-on+thunderbolt, which guarantees kills on nearby kecleons and not killing faraway ones like earthquake (metagross)/heatwave (torkoal) would. The only problems left are luck and that gust of wind. Mr.mime also works bcz he's psy type (anti-psybeam), has sound proof, and can learn meditate+barrier+thunderbolt+safeguard. The trade btw sure-hit and anti-confusion/substitute is a personal preference. Otherwise, nothing survives kecleons with screech, although some of them don't have that move.

I suggest you guys, if we're talking about increasing evasion, I suggest to use Raichu Lv. 100, because it has a move named "Double Team" (make sure that Friend Bow is still holding), instead of wasting evasion orbs. I recruited one easily because of that
You must also keep in mind that Screech can completely remove those defenses, and iron defense won't be able to help with that, why, I don't know. The only way to avoid that is with the White Smoke, Clear Body, or Sound Proof ability. If you don't have those, you'll have to rely on evasive capabilities. Tail Whip can also be a problem, but only if it hits you enough times. Screech only needs 2 hits to completely wipe out your defenses.
2 choices, Celebi or Chansey. Celebi is at the end of purity forest, the ultamite dungeon, Chansey is in Joyous Tower floors 50, 60, and 77, those 3 exact floors and Joyous Tower is harder than Purity Forest if you don't have the right items.
Because I wanted to make an example of what Screech can do. (Also I prefer using certain pokemon over others, no matter what the reason is.) But the Clear Body is mentioned in the description.
You need to have one of your moves set. When all of your moves have 0 PP, use the set move shortcut combination (L + A) and you'll use Struggle. It only works if all your moves have 0 PP.
i have two kecleons now in mystery dungeon sky and i love my kecleon duo! just the two of them can take on monster houses alone and even tackle zero isle center
Well, Kecleon is at Level 48. It's HP is 288 and its stats are 255 around the board. If you wonder how I knew this, I recruited one last year. It took me 2 weeks (35 attempts) worth of midnight activity to play PMD2 using Lv. 100 Chikorita as team leader and it wasn't easy. I did follow the same exact procedures on this video's tutorial.
@charizardmaster23 PMD 1. I can tell because in PMD 2, The Kecleons have so high defence that Lv. 100s can only whittle 1-2 HP per move, and the Kecleons deal around 100 damage per move on Lv. 100s. Kecleons still are always in double speed in PMD 2.
@Superfirefox1996 everytime you walk very many steps on a floor it will say that. if you walk normally for 2 min it will say it's closer. 30 secs later it will say it it's aproached and 5 steps later you dissapear and it will say at the end *Blown away by an unseen force*. this happens a lot quicker in marowack dojo

The recurie rate is -35.1% 90-100 levels means +25% when you recruit. a friend bow adds +10%. at your bestbet, you have 0.1% precent chance. DON'T GIVE UP THOUGH!

@tomaltensalad because when you use an escape orb when your a thief it will cancel it out, so use it on the next floor up.
If you use Grimer, you'll have Minimize - which also works as Double Team.
RIP video's entire tutorial aspect because of the loss of Annotations.

The recurie rate is -35.1% 90-100 levels means +25% when you recruit. a friend bow adds +10%. at your bestbet, you have 0.1% precent chance. DON'T GIVE UP THOUGH!
@Metallover349 its this thing that happens when ur on the same floor for like 2000 turns, and then another 2000 turns, it will say somethings blowing, then another like 2500 turns, it will blow you outa the dungeon
OK! This is easy enough for me to only have to do 2 or 3 attempts to recruit Kecleon.
Recruit chance is about 1 in 1000 (1 in 200 in PMD2).
