He's used to wow which is for children when compared to dark souls.
I love how he gives the enemies turns to attack him and he just takes it until its his turn, THIS ISN'T A TURN BASED GAME

A lot of streamers are superb when it comes to timing... since well, skill is pretty much a requirement for the grand majority of male streamers. Otherwise the viewers won't stick. But they are often a little slow on the uptake when it actually comes to learning a game's mechanics on their first playthrough. Skipping things, not reading properly, not experimenting or trying things out, etc. But you'll see their talent actually become relevant once they do learn about other mechanics a bit more.
I'm not a streamer and don't have their reaction times... that said, first thing I always do in a game is jump into the settings so that everything fits my preferences. Not just visual settings, also stuff like controls, sound, etc. I notice hardly anyone ever seems to check out those other settings. Heck, for Ys 8 first thing I did was spend 10 minutes on getting the controls set to what seemed good for me since the default one... well, I suppose it's workable for most, but it was pretty garbage for me personally. I did play it on Nightmare though, so I do think it was essential.

This is one of the best examples on how you _shouldn't_ play Dark Souls lol being impatient, unobservant, non-reflective about your own decisions and just being downright stubborn, I'm honestly surprised he made it to the end

For the past days I watch his Dark Souls playthrough on a regular basis. Having played all Dark Souls and Bloodborne myself I know how frustrating and hard they can be but Asmongold is beyond bad, sometimes I really think he's not well in the brain..

@@fled110 sounds like you suck at DS. There are guys that can beat the whole game without taking damage, there are guys that can beat the whole game without leveling up. The game doesn't hold your hand and have enemies stand around while you kill them. The mechanics are actually pretty good, you just have to git gud too.

As a former Halo pro, when I played WoW, I pretty much had trouble with how simple and easy that game was that I didn’t believe at first how simple it was. Yeah, WoW is definitely not a skilled based game at all.

If I had to give one tip to a beginner it would be if something seems impossibly hard like trying to fight the first boss with a sword hilt then it's likely another way of doing it or it's not what your intended to do

The two people above me perfectly show the dark souls community, on one hand you have people that give help and feedback to new players, and on the other you have the people that yell "git gud" and "casual" while rocking their chaos zweihander and giant set with father's mask

This series is what introduced me to asmon and I come back to it every once in a blue moon because of the immense joy it brings me. To see how far he’s come in these games is fantastic. Look at the juxtaposition between his gameplay in the early game for his first play through dark souls vs Elden ring. Shit is night and day. He really did get good. I love this series so much 😂
He sure has come a long way.. Dark souls was such a struggle lol.
But honestly he was really good in elden ring. And those streams are still my favorite Asmon content ever.

Dirtbike Dom I play it now and it’s stupid easy. Mechanics are predictable and once you know an encounter you are pretty much all good. Classes are all easy to play. The only difficult thing about it is the RNG and stuff not dropping all the time. Other than that WoW is the easiest games I’ve ever played.
to be fair, the early deaths to the Asylum Demon(first fight, with just the broken sword) are pretty excusable. Only thing that got me there were all the times the side gate out was visible and he didn't see it.

I'm impresed that asmongold decided to go SHIELDLESS and no lock into lower undead burg. By that time I was using my 100phy shield for everything and taking it slow.
No shield isn't too bad, save for the dogs.
@@desertrainfrog1691 its a bit of a problem with the backstabby guys tho. Just blocking them kinda negates them as a problem but I frown upon using shields because I just don't think it's fun or takes skill. Dodge then attack. Playing like that with str weapons for my first time was hell in lower undead burg

He seems to be suffering from the delusion that you’re supposed to kill every enemy on your first playthrough at level 1
Dark Souls is a game that isn't meant to be easy when you start. "Git gud" is literally the point, you learn from your mistakes then improve yourself and your tactics. The true issue comes with someone who refuses to learn.

I love the start of this game is just hilarious to see new people playing it and get constantly rekt (hepened to all of us) and their reactions, my favorite part is when they meet Havel.

After 40 hours of this game so far and only getting to a few locations but finally owning them it puts a sincere smile on my face to see someone so WoW savy fail at a game like this even though it's inevitable

If you watch his reaction to the Dark Souls speedrun record he loses it when he finally finds out you can parry.
