- Peter Knego takes you aboard the newest Viking Longship river cruise ship, VIKING RADGRID, which is one of four Viking Cruises patented European river cruise ships designed for Seine service. In order to berth at the Pont de Grenelle, the closest quay to the Paris city center, these vessels are 33 feet shorter than their standard Longship fleetmates and carry 22 fewer guests. Very comprehensive tour, thanks Peter. I did a Avalon trip on the Rhone just before COVID and it was very nice, not what I expected for my first river cruise. Different from an ocean cruise but in a good way. I'd go again! Viking looks equally fine.
Thanks so much, Ed. My experiences with Viking on rivers and the high seas have all been excellent. They are a very savvy operation. Haven't done Avalon but did do Emerald and Viking on the Rhone. I have yet to meet a river cruise that I didn't enjoy on some level. :)
