Sonic 3D Blast was quite different with its isometric view. The prerendered graphics look good and the music is on the level of other Sonic Genesis games. I even like the "Marble Madness" like layout of the stages. However, the controls in this game are horrible! You contantly have the feeling that you are too stupid to aim for stuff but after some time you realize it's not you.. it is the game that is too stupid to move Sonic properly. I made a little example video to proove it : th-cam.com/video/pKtNhOK3Olo/w-d-xo.html In this clip I only press UP and DOWN (later only LEFT and RIGHT) and yet Sonic always moves a little to the other direction with every turn you make. You cannot walk straight lines. Changing the X position will always change the Y position as well. THIS is what makes it so freaking hard to aim for stuff. There is also a Saturn Version with slightly enhanced graphics and new real 3D special zones.
You're exaggerating a lot and that video is a bad excuse. It can sometimes fail but most of the time you can aim well enough. That's why there are shadows to tell you where Sonic's about to land
@@mep6302 so proven facts are a bad excuse now? I clearly explained and showed whats wrong. Of course you can aim well enough, but "well enough" for such a platformer IS bad. It should be precise all the time. I could create a situation where Sonic stands on the exact same position and you enter the exact same inputs and he would end up on 2 slightly different positions because that sidestep thing depends on the last direction he ran from.
@@RetroGameSpacko I've almost had no problem with destroying enemies by jumping like if it were a full 2D Sonic game. So, now your video is a "proven fact"? and saying well enough IS NOT bad. How can you be precise all the time if you must aim first? Did you look at the shadows to help you know where Sonic's going to land?

My uncle bought me this game shortly after he got payed. I was only 8 and i chose this sonic collection game i dont recall the name but it had this game and many others to choose from, i played this game and never step foot on the xbox 360. ever. again.

What really shined about the Genesis/Mega Drive version of Sonic 3D Blast/Sonic 3D: Flickies' Island was the soundtrack.
You expected an angelic chorus but instead you get a catatonic manic man screaming Sega
