- I was furloughed from my job for a while and right before I went back to work the weather turned nice So I thought I would take advantage of it. The high up mountains still have way too much snow so I did some more exploring down south west. This particular area is wide open with vast rolling hills all while being surrounded by big mountains in the distance. Not a whole lot of people seem to come out this way with overgrown roads as the evidence. It really feels like you're in the middle of nowhere with plenty of new roads to explore which makes it the perfect area for MotoCamping. I'm completely out of demographic,, sixty four year old, but I love watching you videos, your productions are getting incredible, I have been enjoying them for some time ,, if only I was younger I would try to enjoy the lifestyle you are, don't stop,, it is impossible to go back,,
Difficult yes, maybe not completely impossible. I'll be sixty-four in 6 weeks. I stopped riding motorcycles 40 years ago. After I started going to a gym and lost 80 pounds I was able to get on a dual sport and get back into riding. I don't usually tent camp, I have a camper van with a rack to carry the bike. Unless there is more holding you back than just age, you might not have give up the idea of riding Ralph. I've met other riders out on the trails that were older than both of us. Hey Ralph, I am 63 and ride my TW on these same trails! I am out of his age group too but he keeps me inspired. Good luck and try a bicycle if a motorcycle isn’t in you future. Moving and exploring keeps going
no worries glad you enjoy the videos! there are plenty of older people out there that are still riding and doing what they love. I got a message from this lady in her 70's who had just traded her other bike in for a TW200 and is riding it. I don't know if there is something else other than age alone holding you back but don't let your age stop you from doing what you want to do.

Hey tdubskid! You ever heard of the xt350 Clarke tank mod on the tdubs? It requires a bit of modification of the seat but it more than doubles the tank size to 15 litres I think.
There's a pretty decent detailed post on the tw200 forum.
Clarke also do a tw200 tank but it's only a bit larger, no point imo.

You know what would make a great end of an adventure video, you summarizing where you've been. Actually, from the start you could tell us about where you plan to ride, or at least in what direction just to inform about your aim for the day. Also info like the temperature and the time of day, perhaps also the date, would be nice to share. Afterwards, well at home, you could show the spots on google-maps what roads and places you were on. I'm very curious about the Colorado country.

How much is gas per gallon near you? Currently in pa its 2.35 for 87 octane. Absolutely beautiful where you live! I need to visit the area sometime. Ship or haul my bike out there. Love it!!! Also editing is epic!!!

Love your videos and narratives, but there's too much video shake, especially swiftly looking left & right. Ok watching on an iPhone, but impossible on a big screen. Would you consider mounting the camera on the bike itself?

The TW is a pretty good Adventure bike. I did some on Mt TW. I had a white and red 1987. Never let me down. I sold to a guy who was planning a ADV ride with his friend and their boys ride across Washington state. I did stay in contact with them and they said that had a great time. Around Bend Oregon out!

Your cinematography from 18:40 - 20:11 is really good. I mean it looks like National Geographic's Planet Earth. The fact you are one guy with a presumably small budget turning out that kind of imagery is astounding. You need to get yourself into that kind of work. I wish I knew how to get you noticed. My only critique, and it's minor, is in the drone footage I'd avoid / edit out the 180 degree turns. I know you'd lose some potentially good footage of the Elk but it takes what looks like a professional shot of the highest quality and snaps you out of the awe into thinking "oh this is drone footage" if that makes any sense. Anyway, you work is amazing. I really want to see you excel professionally in cinematography.

Yeah I agree with messing up that elk shot. needed to slow down some at the end without the 180. would have been way cooler seeing them all jump over that fence. I had just crawled out of my sleeping bag and was half asleep and I only had 2 packs for the whole trip. It's cool to watch back footage and have some feedback so I know what to work on next time. thanks!
Had knee pain. Was because I wasn't drinking enough water during the day. Crystals in my knee. Was scared that might need surgery but knee great now. Thought it might have been due to drumming or cramped leg position on one of my motorcycles (lowered and adjusted pegs, much better).

How long did it take to produce the clip?
My wonderful parents bought me a 1969 Honda Mini Trail Z50 on Christmas Eve and I got hooked on riding. Raced motocross (125 Yamaha then 250 Maico's) from 1972 - 1980. Hare Scrambles (IT 175) 1980- 1985. Bought a 2004 HD 1200 Sportster in 2007 and still have it.
I came across your videos searching TW200's because if I were to get back into your kind of riding, that seems to be a great bike.

Hey it would be great if you did a gas mileage info one, as far as reserve too. I know if varies by bike but would be a good guideline every thought about a rotopax on the back end under your camp bag? ? that give you 1.75 same as your tank heh Great Vid as always Tx4V

hey thanks for watching and subscribing! Dual sport bikes are great, so much freedom. yeah this is dual sport land for sure. I can only speak for personal experience and am not giving advice, but it's called serrapeptase. I also found a high quality Turmeric Curcumin Ultra High Absorption one really helped me too

My only comment is that you might want to read up on how to hang a bear bag. Used to live in Cascade (up Ute Pass) and I've seen black bear zip up a tree nearly as fast as they cover ground.

Psst putting that gas reserve bottle "in the back" will not save you if it leaks. keyword : turbulence. If you cannot trust enough to put it in with your clothes, don't use it .
hasn't leaked before so should be alright. just for worse case scenario

Today I put a 4 gallon Clark tank on my Yamaha XT225. On short trips one does not have to fill it up to keep it light.

I don't have a specific one for all the tools yet but I I have lists of most of the tools needed on the specific maintenance videos in the descriptions, I got a tekton 1/4 in torque wrench and like it a lot, seems very well made, I would stay away from harbor freight ones. I gotta make a video on torque wrenches hope that helps

This is the second time you mention lack of water during camping. You should reconsider amount of water that you take for camping and add couple more liters.

Anyone with bad knee pain try drinking more water. Also have a pillow in bed for knee to rest on, takes pressure off knee while asleep.

Thanks for the adventure! That was a lot of fun! I totally understand when you say it’s hard to get motivated to go on long over night adventures. I’ve done a few hiking camping trips and it takes a lot of work especially when you are filming it all lol! Praise the Lord about your knees! Sometimes we endure trials and tribulations for a reason and The Lord uses those things to draw us closer to Him! Thank you for sharing! Keep up the great work!
