Definitely a different timeline of some sort. Goku met Grandpa Gohan at the end of Dragon Ball as an adult after his fight with Piccolo at the 23rd tournament

@@acrombb2 how was that a filler it's the arc where goku and chichi get married, and the whole mountain being on fire and burning ok king's castle was the whole point why chichi was going to see master roshi, so if it wasn't for the mountain being on fire goku and chichi might not have needed to meet at all, and since the mountain was on fire again and the kamehameha solution roshi did wasn't working they had to final another solution which makes what happened canon

The funny thing is, you could just as easily interpret this as Goku looking at a flashback without context
gohan knows what adult goku looks like he met him before the start of z and tails are a recessive trait in half breed saiyans. they didn’t remove trunks or gotens tails they were born without them.
