It senses movement. I'm pretty sure it works quite well in the dark but you'd need to test that

It is a sense and spray. Only sprays when it senses movement, but won't spray continuously. Does it sense you?

It depends on how often it goes off. If it's in a busy area it will spray every 20mins.
