I like how people are like "Some of these are Mexico's urban legends"
Like bro, we were once Mexico.
Spain was the first European country to claim and control the area of Texas. France held a short-lived colony. Mexico controlled the territory until 1836 when Texas won its independence, becoming an independent Republic. In 1845, Texas joined the union as the 28th state.
Texas was never part of Mexico, mexico just controlled it. Texas OFFICIALLY became part of u.s.a. only lol so no, texas was not once mexico. It just happens that alot of mexicans are in texas

Hola
¿Como están?
It's like all Texas urban legends are like in Spanish
La llorona:
La ya-ro-na
La llorona is a Mexican urban legend
I know huh. La llorona and El Chupacabra were both Mexican-ish. Im Hispanic and those are classics to me . I can just hear "EL CHUPACABRA EL CHUPACABRA" and "ay mis hijos" when someone mentions them haha.
Well,Spanish is a widely spoken language here, especially since we are next to Mexico.
They also featured la llorona in the Colombian urban legends
That's because their true origins are in Latin America. Texas has an abundance of Latino descendants. They pass on their urban legends that they learned from their family in Texas. Now Texas has claimed these legends even though they only appear and make sense in their country of origin.
My parents use to scare me with "El Cucuy will get you for being mean". I don't know why they would be mad, all I said to my aunt is I wish I had a moustache like hers. Oh well.

" Bexar " county is pronounced like the animal "Bear". I'm not orginally from Texas so I had no Idea how to pronounce it either 😂
It's kinda like the road I live by, which has a French pronouncement
Jamie Taylor she was right, it’s pronounced as bear.. born and raised in San Antonio,Tx bexar county.
Jamie Taylor lol bexar is a county not a city and I live in bexar county BRUH, born and raised here in San Antonio... I think I would know how to pronounce my own county.
Jamie Taylor call bexar county sheriffs non emergency line.. they are going to answer the way it’s actually pronounced like the animal you derp lol 😂🤣
what?
i’m from texas and i have heard of the lady of white rock (we call it that instead of the lady of white rock). i was volunteering one time there to pick up trash and i kind of separated from the group. i had my back to the lake and when i bent down to pick up a piece of trash i heard someone say my name loud and clear right over my shoulder. my parents were a great distance away from me, and as i looked behind my shoulder i saw a flash of white float towards the lake then disappear. this actually happened i’m not doing this for clout. this legend is a little different than the one in the video but i just wanted to let y’all know. this version of the legend says that one girl killed herself by drowning herself in white rock lake. it is said that you can see her at sunset or at night.
Ok I'm Mexican and umm I know the lechusa thing and there is ways to escape it the lechusa is an owl of course and will start making noises but all u have to do is just cuss it out and pour some salt around that's why my family don't trust owls the scariest thing is they will stock u for a while before they sing

Texas has bipolar weather
@Ms. V lmao top is 45 one day then 70 to 80 another i hate livin here
Yup, as a native of Texas from Fort Worth, we can see everything from snow to T-Shirt and shorts weather all during Winter. Blame us being wedged between 2 great mountain ranges, the Rockies and Appalachians which tends to funnel cold Canadian air from up north, and bring warm Gulf Coast air from the south. Well, that is why it's called Tornado alley, hot and cold air mixing like that is bound to create the largest Tornado/Twister/Cyclone prone area on earth.
This has been your daily science fact of the day, we now return you to your scheduled programming.

Hey I am in San antonio tx.
I live in Texas and remember when I first heard about the South Texas Headless Horseman in sixth grade. We were in theatre and we’re going to do a play about him and learned the legend. To this day it remains as one of Texas’s most famous Urban Legends
Puppet Master I heard about the headless head man to but I live in Britain

My uncle claims that he's seen Lechuza when he was a kid. He told me this when I was maybe eight, so I got really freaked out after he told me, though I don't think he did and he just said it to scare me.
BUT u never know! He could :0
P
you forgot the San Antonio ghost tracks According to legend a fatal school bus crash on those tracks occurred in the early 20th century. A bus carrying kids stalled on the tracks and they sat there waiting for a train to come along, which killed them all.
The spirits of those children now wait around for people come to park their cars on the same tracks so they can save said people from the same fate that killed them and if you pour baby power on your back window you can see the children hand prints on your car
Been there before bc I live near there. Very cool
That one was on fact or faked and they proved it was real. They put flour on the back bumper of their car and there where hand prints in I once the car had moved on its own
My dad once parked there and I remember me and my sister screaming because we thought he just told us the story 😂
there's actually several urban legends involving areas like the San Antonio ghost tracks. there's even one not far from me, near Toronto, Ontario
It was in the first one I like it I want to see

Hey I’m from Indiana and would love to see more legends from there 🐬☀️⭐️
Bro # 1 sent chills down my spin bc Im from the valley and never knew about this
La Llorona is a Spanish urban legend, she was actually a beautiful peasant woman whom a noble man fell in love with, though his father disapproved. They married in secret and he built her a lavish house in the village she lived in. Eventually they had 2 sons. The noble man was constantly leaving and would bring back gifts for his wife and sons, though as time went on he showed less and less affection to her, eventually not coming back at all. One day when she was walking the boys by the river she noticed the familiar carriage, and it was the nobleman with a new bride. he spoke fondly to the boys and completely ignored her shortly after he drove off filled with rage she threw both of her sons into the water grief-stricken by what she had just done she threw herself in after them now she wonders looking for her children for eternity. The legend says if a child encounters La Llorona that she mistook them for her own child and when seeing that they're not will murder them as well.
I heard of this from Snarled
@@turtlebombcatattack1650 La llorona will kill the child
@@turtlebombcatattack1650, she will first think she has found her own children. Then, when she takes a closer look, she will realize they are not hers. Then, she will kill them in a fit of renewed grief and rage.

BFKAnthony817 hah have you ever been in the netherlands XD
@Amber XD Nah, I would love to though! I like learning other Germanic languages, as they are sister languages to English as Anglo-Saxons came over from Europe to England about 1500 years ago or so. So the Netherlands would be super awesome to visit for me. Dutch is pretty close to core English when you remove all the other Latin and French words. :)
There's a legend of if u go to a abandoned place in Austin Texas and sleep and wake up at exactly 3:45 AM u will wake up at your own house sleeping in your own nice bed! It happened to my big bro Anthony J.
Hi Texan here with a hometown rumor, there’s a mansion that was turned into an art museum after a husband killed his wife (reasons unknown) and blamed the gardener who got arrested, he killed her in their upstairs bedroom and if you visit the mansion, no one is allowed upstairs

you got the story of La Llorona a bit wrong. first its pronounced La Yorona. the story itself dates back to the Aztecs. it was a woman who was a widow with children that fell in love with a man who was better off than her. she hoped he would provide a better life for her and her children. but he had no desire to be tied down to a widow with another mans children. she went mad and drowned her children in the river. after she immediately realized what she had done and started running up and down the banks screaming for her children. when her village found out what she had done they sentenced her to the same fate, and threw her in the river to drown as well. since then she is seen and heard along waterways and lagoons searching for her children. she is also said to drag children and anyone else foolish enough to go looking for her to a watery grave. she is an omen of death. her scream is so bloodcurdling it can drive a person insane, and her apparition is enough to do worse. theres no horse involved with her. I don't know where the hell you got that. also she is a Mexican legend. she may have been seen in el paso, but shes not a Texan legend.
now that we have that out of the way, why is it that you guys keep doing part 2's of states but I cant get one single list of my Missouri legends????
Jennifer really? I’ve never heard it quite like that, basically the same story but told a little different. In the version I was always told was that she fell in love with a man and had children with him and was happy and then one day he left the village for work and didn’t come back for a long time, he finally came back one day while she was by the river with her children and he had a wealthy woman (from his social class) with him and he said goodbye to the children while ignoring her. Furious and heart broken she threw and drowned her children, was basically how my mom always told me lol (I’m Mexican)
@@SmileBaby143 the exact details of the story vary a lot from all over Mexico and the border states. this was the most common interpretation that I have read, and also pretty exact with what some family from mexico told me. well theyre not blood, theyre friends that have become family. the woman, ill call her Rosa, said that when her father was younger, it was either before she was born or when she was a baby, he was out with some friends and heard La Llorona scream. He was never the same afterwards. I think one of the guys with him committed suicide shortly after because of it. When Rosa and I talkabout it you can see the fear in her eyes. But one thing I am adamant about, is that in all the versions and interpretations of the story there has never once been any mention of horses. not a single one.
Your mother is as right as anyone else. since no one knows the exact details theres no one that is wrong, but theres no one that is right either. the basics are all the same but the exacts are never the same.
Jennifer yeah, and I believe it too. I always go to visit my grandma once a year in her village, and when I say village I mean it’s small. We have to drive 40mins to the nearest hospital/ Clinc if something happens and the nearest city with cell phone signal is 1 hour and 30 mins away. We do have internet and tv dish, but the internet is very slow. There’s parties and stuff every summer but I remember once night all the dogs started barking out of no where and I heard someone, so I got out of the bathroom and went straight to my moms room, I’m pretty sure she heard something too but we didn’t talk about it and just drank some hot tea and watched some novellas lmfao.
Your right am from Mexico so I knew this
