This 100% information I already knew, or don't care, but still loved your vid. You have a great voice for narration, and an ability to present the information in a clear way.
That’s funny the notification made me think I had a hater 😆 but then of course read the rest. Thank you for saying that, it’s so great to hear that it’s working! Seriously thank you! 😊
That was pretty good. Long time Player on 76 I've never seen anybody approach material farming the way that you are and that says a lot. I hope you keep it up. Subscribing and looking forward to the next location.
For fungus I usually go to that underground tunnel below the main highway road that leads to Watoga, but I legitimately didn't know about the potential around this location. Super informative ! And from a fellow Day 1 Wastelander too? Instant sub 👍
Love this idea for a series, love the graphics and layout of the video, very useful plus making me fall In love with different locations. Keep it up mate
Oh that’s so great to hear! So much overlooked beauty in the world of 76, and that’s definitely my motivation for videos like this. Glad to have you here.
awesome! you got me to like n sub, excellent informative, and friendly really good im no noob and dont struggle for resources but your relaxed delivery makes it a great watch for new and old players
I’ve been playing over a year and never knew about the brain fungus or fern flowers here. As den mother in my group, I’m always feeding the herb members when they run out of brain bombs. Brain bombs and steeped fern flower tea was so difficult to find ingredients for that I often didn’t share the few I could make. Hopefully now I can make more.
For brain fungus make a base on the southeast edge of sparse sundew grove theres about 20 brain fungus in the riverbed as well as a few cranberries, several pitcher plants and an oil deposit all in the same area
I've been playing the game since the beta testing. I always think I know it all for collecting scrap. This video shows me there's always a place I haven't known of to get resources. Thanks!
In all fairness, this location was full of bones well before the Mothman totems appeared, back before Wastelanders. It used to be, if memory serves me right, the spawn location of a rather ill tempered Radtoad or Mirelurk.
Ya know that all sounds familiar! Of course floaters were added with Wastelanders. I was about to agree with you fully but I’m looking at the official 76 guidebook now and it says “platforms lead down to a waterlogged maw bottom, where there’s evidence of a cultist altar.” So I guess there was always some form of a cultist altar. They definitely upgraded the location in some form over time!
@@RevivalDan By the way, have you ever seen the concept art for the Free States outfits? We’ve received a number of them without the Free States iconography, but part of me hopes if the map ever expands eastwards through the mire that we see more of their bunkers and members. Could even throw in a crashed Zetan ship as a dungeon like the Gleaming Depths with two “agents” trying to steer curious wastelanders away with claims of light passing through swamp gas and mutant infestations.
@hiddendesire3076 I have not seen those outfits but I really like all of what you’re suggesting. My guess is that they’ll expand the map in the top right corner of the map so that they can use both Mire and Savage divide landscape to do what they wish. Out of anywhere outside the map only that corner near the Mire’s Eye has some shacks and other half built things beyond the border, which the devs left out there. But I agree, they seemed to abandon the Free States concept all together.
So, a question totally off the subject with using a stimpak diffuser for the medic tadpole badge. Do I have to be near friendly allies or do I have to actually be on a team? 🤔 Thank you in advance 😁
Ya know I actually don’t quite know that one. But if I were you I would go to a public event, briefly join a team and use the stimpack diffuser there. That should work I imagine.
I think you are wrong about the brain fungus at Big Maw being the best location for it. My pick is the Sparse Sundew Grove - it has WAY more than 10 clusters - brain fungus can be found all through it and in the creek beds all around it, and there are very few enemies there to slow you down. I think you might have been fooled by them being a bit more spread out, so on mapping software it doesn't look like such an impressive concentration, but this place is my go-to every time for mass amounts of brain fungus - and it isn't dark there so the fungus is very easy to find as it stands out.
That’s fair and you might be right! I’ve realized that the cluster setting in Mappalachia can really influence “which cluster has the highest number.” You sound confident so I will check it out later to see. Either way I think both places are excellent for brain fungus and I definitely didn’t consider the grove. I am curious to see if you are current! 😁😁 I think if we scaled the cluster range to lowest setting then increased the scale and took note of all the changes/densest clusters, then something more definitive could be said.
@@RevivalDan travel to harpers tunnel north and cross the street north-west. It starts right there with 40-50 pieces (with double perk) and walk in Berkely direction for more. The other is the tunnel under the street near bogtown!
What I meant to say was more carry weight via the Strength boost Steeped Fern Flower Tea. There is no herbivore carry weight buff. But what I do is I consume a fresh herbivore serum and then I can take any carnivore buff for the next hour and it will work. So I do that with Smoked Mirelurk Filets. It’s only worth doing if you have a lot of flux for the herbivore serums
Ya know I actually thought bone was needed to make fuel, but I was somewhat mistaken. Players use the bone to craft Cutting Fluid which is then scrapped for oil which is used for fuel.
Also it's worth noting that the floater sacs are now needed to craft the legendary 2-star armor mods of fire/cold/venom resistance. You need 10 of one type to craft one armor mod (e.g. 10 fire floater sacs to craft the +25 resistance-to-fire armor mod).
I knew about the majority of brain fungus clusters around Big Maw, and when passing by, I usually take the opportunity to collect. But my favorite place to farm Brain Fungus is heading down the hill east-southeastern of the Berkeley train station (south of Big Maw). Because we frequently have to go to train stations to drop legendaries we don't want (and sell stuff to use our daily allowance of 1400 caps), when I'm around that train station (specially after Moonshine Jamboree), I collect the 5 or 6 fungi on the west side of the station (near the barn), then head down the hill east-southeastern passing through an electric tower towards that cluster of ponds/bogs before reaching the road near Harpers Ferry, where you can get a good amount of brain fungi, but as usual you can also collect a few mutated ferns..
That’s a great spot too! And that’s definitely the way to go, farming on the fly while at events, knowing what’s around you in the area. That pond you’re referring to is excellent too, and when I did a route for how to farm 300 brain fungus (unreleased video) I included it at the end of my route. So I went around Big Maw then followed the brain fungus clusters towards the train station, then got the few at the substation, then finally at the pond.
Also, you didn't mention that, climbing up the hill from Big Maw, heading west (maybe a little northwest) before the top (still in the 'forest'), one finds another interesting unmarked location: a circle of mushrooms, imitating that natural phenomenon whereby mushrooms grow forming a wide, almost perfect circle.
You’re right I didn’t mention it. I meant to! I do have it featured though, right at the beginning. And it’s blended into the videos thumbnail too. I kind of see it as a metaphor for the loot surrounding Big Maw. And that ring is an unmarked location called “Fairy Ring” (in the official guide).
This is the quality 76 content I need. Looking forward to the rest of this series!
That means a lot thank you!

Thank you, my Fungus farming has now gotten an excellent boost.
This is exactly the kind of 76 content we need. You got my sub.
Please make more of these videos. Unique and valuable presentation.
The response has been excellent! so I’m already thinking many more episodes 😁
BRAVO! This was a work of art! You got my sub!

The cinematography of this video is amazing! I usually farm my brain fungus in wendigo cave, but I’m gonna try this spot!
Bethesda makes it easy! But thank you it’s so great to hear. 😁
Thank you for making this. I have been looking for Brain fungus for so long. I'll be Looking forward to the rest of this series!
Extremely well impressive edited video, notch above most other Fallout 76 video you see.

Well made video. I always go to the Windigo cave for brain fungus, but this is a nice option.
Informative and very well made video.
Gladly subbed.
Thanks! 🦋
First video of yours I’ve seen, just found your channel - but more of this series would rule. Excellent work.
Thank you! Glad to have you here. Definitely more videos like this one on the way 😊
well done!
liked and subbed to see more of the series!

Im glad I could help out your group. The cranberry bog is my place for mutated fern flower. There’s always a cluster by the random groups of trees
This was great... I overlooked Big Maw for farming. New go-to for Brain fungus. Cheers!
So glad you found it helpful! Big Maw is definitely overlooked 😁
whitespring service entrance lots of bones and brain fungus
@@notwokevikingrules401 thx, I'll check it out.
The presentation is so wonderful bro I can't wait for future installments. Hope these are more easy than hard to make.
Hey, great so to hear you’re a fan! They do take a while to make but they are fun. I am finishing up the next installment now actually 😁
@RevivalDan looking forward to it. Its unique content and not more rehashed atomic shop updates and news articles. It feels like you enjoy doing it.
Just watched both of your Rare Items videos - You've got a sub. Very helpful and informative. Looking forward to more of this excellent series. 👍
Keep up the good work, thanks for introducing this area and any other great tips in Fallout 76

@ Perhaps the prior cultists worshipped a different creature prior to the mothman cultists. Either way, agreed, nice upgrade.
Ah yes, maybe the firstborn of the wood.

I farm Brain Fungus from an unnamed cave in Cranberry Bog under the highway. Very few enemies and loads of fungus.
Indeed that’s another great place for brain fungus. And the Kerwood Mine but it’s a rather tricky dungeon

woah hell yes this is sweet
Where does White spring wait for Bone Scrap?
Oddly, I don’t think I ever went there even though I’ve got years in 76
That’s interesting, yeah I can’t recall any quest that would take players there.
There’re at least two more places with 100 brain fungus
Interiors or exteriors? Kerwood Mine is also great, but confusing.

Ah yes! sometimes I do a route that veers down into that cluster, the one west of Harper’s near the pond area.
What do you make as erbivore to increase carry weight ?

Oh very cool. Do you mean by the river? That’s such a gorgeous spot
Why would i need bone scrap when i use a flamer?
Ya know I actually thought bone was needed to make fuel, but I was somewhat mistaken. Players use the bone to craft Cutting Fluid which is then scrapped for oil which is used for fuel.
@revivaldan hey your still correct technically
Do yourself a favor and go to the wendigo cave instead if you are looking for brain fungus.
There’s really no wrong way to farm it. One less loading screen at Big Maw.
Wow
Bro if u want brain fungus just go to wendigo cave 😭😭
One less loading screen at Big Maw but yes wendigo cave is another great source.
Great video with some great information. Deserves alot more likes.
Couple things I didn't know here too which is handy. Thankyou
what's so special about brainfungus?
It’s needed for Brain Bombs which is the best INT booster. So if you ever want to stock up on a LOT of Brain Bombs this would be a great way.
1 of the thing you need to make Brain bombs and berry Mentats
