Great statement! Everyone should indeed care about this. I've donated $125. Which is nothing, I've been using FLOSS for about 20 years. $125 is nothing in those terms.

Patent trolls started a long time ago. A decade of patent trolls proves that the government is not on the people's side. If you get together now you can stop this before it gets to late. The people should never be afraid of the government. The government should be afraid of the people.

This better be thrown out in court. The repercussions otherwise could be huge, not just for the FOSS community but potentially for any image distribution platform.

You want to LEARN about the ROTHCHILD family? Check out "THE CREATURE FROM JEKYLL ISLAND" by G. Edward Griffin. The Rothchilds are in there. VERY INTERESTING.

In legal terms, if someone would agree to Troll's terms, took the money and signed the contract. Would he also be signing away the license and patent of software, would that be admissible in court - I mean can someone even sign over an open source license because the mere license can't actually be legally changed and therefore they can't actually take it, I mean they can actually take it right now because it's actually free and they can develop it under your license for free :) , but what I mean to ask what does the agreement ask for in return for letting you pay him $50000, all I heard you would get to continue. I understand if he was to win and the Judge rules that Shotwell is infringing on his patent the Judge would sign Shotwell to Qmage, but what would happen if you actually signed his agreement, would you be signing away the App, and are you even allowed by law to do this since you already copyrighted it under whatever license you did, can't change the license now.

9:08 What really? What kind of bs is that? It should be as easy as "hey someone wants to use your name are you okay with this?" Yes/No.
Its crazy that you have to raise money and prepare for a lawsuit...

Patent laws last too long anyway. US law originally only protected for 10-15 years, to i courage innovation while protecting it as well. Corps. have lobbied for these slothful protectionist policies
