  • Back in 2013, fed up with snowy Chicago winters, tired of high prices, sick of the long grind... Mark and Kirsten Raccuia left the US in search of a more affordable life overseas. Today, they’ve cut their budget in half and live in one of Mexico’s top retirement destinations: Puerto Vallarta.

    Mexico did give surprise difficulties for its expats several years ago - they just started not routinely giving 180 days to tourists which really threw a lot of expats game plans off. That seems to have passed but was an unpredictability. Now their cost of residency through the roof for some of us. However so many good traits that you bring forth especially travel time and closer to family. Thank you

    Congratulations on your move. I am retired and my wife will retire in November. We have visited P.V. nine times in the last 22 years. We got married in Nuevo Vallarta on 12/3/22. We are planning another trip this December for our anniversary. We pay $2400 a month for a one bedroom apartment here just 10 minutes from Laguna Beach SoCal. We are thinking about P.V. but also Loreto BCS. Thanks for the info.

    Hi. My name is Kerry. I was wondering if u can help us. My hubby and I are seriously thinking about moving to pv from Florida. Would love to find a place like yours to rent with that fantastic view. Would prob buy eventually but rent 1st til we decide which area we like the best. We have a dog and 2 cats also. Would like furnished if possible. I am 55 and chad is 53 btw. We want to retire this year if possible. So looking for a more laid back lifestyle but need ocean view, walkable to beach and close to great restaurants. 2 br/2 bath would be enough to start with. If u have any suggestions that would be wonderful. Thank you. 😎

    18:14 Is it possible for a single person to get a rental for $300-400 USD? Im starting to learn Spanish and will be returning in 10 years but I will be on a tight budget.

    Looking to live in Puerto Vallarta but looking for an area flood free, clean and quiet areas, 15-20 minutes from the beach. Any suggestions?

    • @kirstenraccuia3952
      @kirstenraccuia3952 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Any area with hills will be flood free. But if you go for the flat areas like Versailles or Fluvial, they will flood. Try Centro or 5D in the hills.

    • @JaimeLopez-oh5uc
      @JaimeLopez-oh5uc 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      And I was told that those two flat areas are the best places to buy properties. I really need to make sure which areas are best to buy cus many people have different opinions. Is going to be tuff.

    • @kirstenraccuia3952
      @kirstenraccuia3952 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Those are good up and coming areas for investments but they also flood at times. I wouldn't buy until you live here for a while, through rainy season. @@JaimeLopez-oh5uc

      @@JaimeLopez-oh5uc- You were just informed that “those areas” you were instructed to buy in bcZ they were the best areas are FLOOD ZONES. And you wanted to avoid flood zones. Hence, don’t buy in those places.
