I was at this concert with my then girlfriend. I was 23 and she was 19. We drove up from San Diego.... It was not only a GREAT concert, but an awesome experience. What I wouldn't give to go back to those days.... I had the hots for the bass player.... 😍
Man, you are a lucky dude. First, to have a 19 year old is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for most of us, if at all. Second, a Go-Go's concert is another. Two together? What are the odds? And you could drool over KV and not get yelled at? About as close heaven on earth I've ever heard of.
👽 can relate. My girlfriend and I used to listen to the Go-Gos back in 1990. She was 18 and I was 25. By the way, I can relate in more ways than one. Hats off to "Hustler's Barely Legal"...LOL!😊😊😊 Incidentally, BEAUTY AND THE BEAT AND TALK SHOW WERE OUR FAVOURITE ALBUMS...
Those fabulous girls that are the go gos , such talent , these guys started out knowing nothing about playing instruments, and learned and grew to be super stars , Belinda is still giving us music pleasure with her tours
Proud to say..I WAS THERE! Even though they hated each other, Charlotte was deep into a Heroin habit, and Gina was coked to the gills, they sounded great. No Auto-Tune, no computers, just some talented chicks playin' live!
Charlotte was never there after around '82ish and probably before. She could function in controlled environments like a studio but anywhere else she was either high doing "the heroin lean" or consumed with her next fix. This may have been the biggest contributing factor to a quick demise, as well as blocking out Jane from singing lead ONCE IN A WHILE (which only added to the strain placed on BC's voice). Getting rid of Canzoneri could not have possibly helped, and the overall drug use clouded their thinking.
Awesome post - LA! Thanks so much. Very pro delivery at this point - it's a little dumbed down - wish it was a little more punky (louder drums) and raw - but it's what it is - at the Greek - but very very cool that this footage is at our fingertips. Cheers.
They are on FIRE at this show! Probably had some knock down drag out brawl before hitting the stage, but put all that aside for us. True professionals. Too bad this was the beginning of the end. At least the first time. How many times have they broke up and got back together 😂
Belinda looks so good-easy to see why people really dug herShe has star written all over her!As well as "The 80's"I need to fire up the ol time machine and head back for a couple yearsReal Coke-I mean blowNot getting yourself spied on everywhere you goActually interacting face to face with peoplegoing to a pay phonepot that didn't make you feel like you were trippin
I love the 80s flashy trashy fashions they didn't take everything so seriously it was so fabulous
Charlotte is unbelievable! Love her!

Those days were better
I still have the hots for the bass player!! Something about her.

@@doyleperkins4916 did you go to one of the gogos shows in 1990?
The drums and bass are awesome on this song I can feel them in my chest
Yep, and they are locked together tight as a nut on a bolt. That's what makes them so powerful.
Yeah, it's the first thing I noticed about their sound was that their drummer was super-legit. They weren't just a cute bimbo band.
It was pre recorded. Watch her hit the drums . No sound. That's why is so good
Nothing like a little classic Go-Go's to perk up my afternoon.
Thanks
One of there best songs.

LA Baby!!!! , Go Go's forever Badass!!!

Los Angeles.

As was I. A great show indeed!
And you forgot Belinda was most likely high on coke! Perhaps this is why this gig is so good!! WHY WHY DID YOU SPLIT SO EARLY GIRLS!!!!
JJ Thomas I agree with you. They were so fucking Badass. Saw them at the Garden in 82 an Radio City in 84. Live them still.

Is this true? When I knew Charlotte, early 80s, she was so wholesome.
They really were a tight, good-playing band live. And the harmonies are dead-on in tune.
Awesome song that I seem to recall did not get a lot of play back then. It is absolutely one of their very best tunes.
This was so good live at The Greek Theatre! It's such a true L.A. song.
Melodic, simple, and haunting...MY FAVOURITE AMONG THOUSANDS OF SONGS UPON FIRST HEARING BACK IN 1982.
I was there..Greek Theater, Los Angeles
Great band!
Iconic.
Thank you for the video.
Thsnkyou for posting, a Fav of mine.
O.M.G....ME WANT !!!!!

i want to hear someone cover this and rock out
I was there..Belinda and Jane hating each other, Charlette strung out on Heroin..Good times!
Which one was which
@@denniszuniga7442Belinda is the lead singer, Jane is the brunette guitarist and Charlotte is the blonde guitarist.
This band came and went like a comet in the night sky

So California 😆
God broke the mold ...fucking Belinda is fire
0:44 Jane seemed to step off the stage and then quickly return to the stage. Did she accidentally slip her foot?😊
I used to think Belinda was hot one, but as I've gotten older, Jane is.
Char looks wasted.
She was always wasted after 82ish if not earlier.
