What's weird about this is that this episode, being number 100, was marketed as "Bart's biggest prank yet" despite that he never actually pulled any intentional foils, just that the dog letting loose in the air ducts and getting Skinner fired.

Fox's marketing was really bad and manipulative, like for the Malibu Stacy episode, it was marketed around something stupid, Bart being devious with the new doll, even though Bart was not even the focus at all in that episode. It's the oldschool way of promoting with the practice of "we have to keep the stakes high, so make up something enticing and that'll draw them in" and then you get a really thought out episode for a completely different reason. The logic is that the ends justify the means. If you can market it, you got gold.
