- This cute Footage was filmed at the Chester Zoo in England which shows the one month old female Elephant calf from the Chester Zoo in England having fun climbing all over mom. Even after mum gets up and the little one falls to the ground, it still carries on climbing over moms feet.

I agree all creatures are precious. But humans don't have the ability to 'save' or 'make extinct' any species as we would like ourselves to believe. In different variations these creatures have existed since the beginning. An ice age couldn't kill the wooly mammoth - it exists today as the elephant. An ice age couldn't kill dinosaurs, they exist today as birds and reptiles. Colonial hunting couldn't kill the Indian rhinoceros or the Asian tigers, today India has brought them back from the brink of so-called extinction. And one type of human never wiped out another type of human, neanderthal DNA is found in most people from Europe

@@tashaanderson2128 Wooly mammoths arn't the elephants we see today, they're extinct. Their species split into two separate species, the Asian elephant and wooly mammoth. Not quite sure how the African elephant came about but Asian elephants and Mammoths are related, however considered different species.
Also, you said humans don't have the ability to save a species but then say India has brought back species from the brink of extinction?

@Gurpreet Singh The UK is planning to pass an Animal Welfare Bill that will allow the elephants already here to live out their lives, but will then stop any more breeding or introduction of animals from other zoos. At last the government has listened to the wildlife organisations that have long since recommended this action, as their lives in captivity are far removed from that in the wild. Unfortunately this legislation won’t apply to this little calf, but it’s a very positive step.
That is a wonderful sentiment and there are amazing organisations out there. Wildlife SOS in India are constantly in need of money when an elephant needs rescuing, you can sponsor one with them and also with Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Four Paws had an appeal for the removal of Kavaan from a zoo in Islamabad to his beautiful new home in Cambodia. Animals Asia are very good on tourist education, mainly stopping people supporting riding centres. Unfortunately many of these rescued elephants won’t be released back into the wild as they are often elderly, with health problems, but their lives are utterly transformed. For true conservation look at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya. They rescue calves for a variety of reasons and after many years of TLC they head back into the African bush. The Trust have had enormous success after a lot of initial set backs and can now boast of over 30 wild born calves from ex orphans. They have a large list of those that can be adopted and the young ones can be visited at their Nairobi nursery. Of course everyone has been struggling during the pandemic as conservation/rescue is very expensive. There are a lot of videos on TH-cam of the above.

Awful crowded zoo. These elephants should freely live on a large reserve preferably in Africa. This baby will never know what it feels like to be an elephant unless she lives in a herd migrating across a great reserve.

Humans are smart, intelligent and emotional creatures too and know that the elephants require stimulation and they will provide them as necessary...
