I just finished installing a new passenger side assembly per your instructions. Perfect! Thanks so much for taking the time to put this video together. The level of detail and camera shots were perfect. I paid $40 on eBay for the part and it took me about 90 minutes to complete the job.
In the middle of the video, you show how to move 2 screws from the old regulator to the new one. I once replaced a regulator and DID NOT move those screws. It made it SO much harder to position the new regulator without having those 2 screws to guide me. Thanks for showing that!
Thanks for the video! I went to a Honda dealership and they quoted me over $800 for parts and labor to replace the regulator. Instead, I bought a regulator off of Amazon for $60 and spent under an hour installing it.

Great Video. I've watched half a dozen. This is the best by far! Part that helped the most is trying to remember how to hook the regulator back into the door. That thing is so flexible--bolts could go almost anywhere. Thanks for taking the time.
Really helpful video, Dennis! My wife's driver-side regulator blew out and the shop wants $327 to fix it. I'm going to buy the part online for less than $100 and do it myself. THANK YOU! One minor quibble (and please take this in the spirit in which it's meant): sometimes in the video you'll say "take this" or "this thing" and the camera isn't close enough or pointed at what you're referring to. You might consider instead saying "take this "clip" or put "this wire". Just being more specific about each part can help overall comprehension for those of us who are intimidated about working on our cars. Regardless, if you lived close by I'd gladly buy you a beer for this one! You really saved us some dough.

I watched several videos. This door was exactly like mine. Getting it out was a trick, the motor had broken off of the regulator and the coil had come off as well. When I unplugged the motor it fell to the bottom of the door. No big deal, but it was a different scenario while getting the window unscrewed from the bar.
Instead of taking the speaker out you could’ve just pulled the moisture barrier down more on the right side then there’s a big hole if you drop something you can get your hand in there
Hello! I know you posted this video 3 years ago, and I'm really hoping you still catch the thread on this. I have an 04' coupe, and both my passenger and driver side window motors are burned out. My mechanic wants 900 to fix them and I dont have that kind of money, so I gotta do it myself, lol. My question is, is this process still doable with my windows stuck rolled up? If not, am I able to move my windows down for the purpose of accessing some of those bolts? It looks like a fairly simple process I think I can handle, although I will make sure I have somebody watching those windows despite the amount of tape I intend to use :D Great video, I understood 99% of the process, great job! try this, undo all the bolts that r shown in the video , and hopefully the window will drop so you can take the moter out, nothing to lose. let me know what happens
@@meganlockard3806 Too be honest with you, I thought my car needed a new motor and regulator. Turns out that I wasn't case. My window came off from the regulator arms. All I was put them back together, and wa-la! I'm going to get my refund after returning their items tomorrow morning.
Ok I bought a used Honda Accord and the passenger window skips about 3 inches from the top and won’t go the rest the way up. I’m going to have to replace the driver side because there is no guts in that side. But everything is there for the passenger and works besides going the rest the way up. I’ve saved your video for the installation of driver side. Any ideas what they did wrong on passenger side? Please help 🤔
Your motor might b going bad. Or there's something blocking it in side the door from going all the way up. I'm guessing motor is going bad. Sorry can't be of more help
So i have the new actuator installed but my window slidebar wont move to the bottom like yours do i need to reconnect power and lower it with a switch cause i cant access the second screw hole to secure my window glass to the slidebar
I would give it a shot.you don't have to put the door panel on. Just hook th wires up then try it . If that won't work let me know and will try something else. Let me know how it turned out
@@dennismelling5175It worked. In my case there was no way in advance to lower the regulator bar because the entire assembly broke. HOWEVER if you are doing this repair and cannot access the screws because the window reg slide bar wont lower all you have to do is BEFORE you lower you window glass RECONNECT the main terminal on the door start your car and lower the slide then you can proceed to ith the repair!
+Joe McGinty i had the same problem .I solved it.Check my comment above.I bought the window power regulator including the motor from O'Reilly Auto Parts for $109 including sales tax(livetime warranty).
Recommend not to use basis painters tape. It is NOT used for that and the glass can fall into the door and chip or break. One can even use better tape. When I replaced the unit assembly on my Honda Accord, I used wooden door shims without any issues. The job went pretty quick with the proper tools and supplies.
Hello Dennis. I loved the video, worked like a charm. But when I put everything back together, the inside door handle will not open the door, and the power locks on the passenger side no longer move the pin up or down (however, the driver's side is locked/unlocked with the passenger side switch, so it works.) I have the metal rod hooked into the plastic piece on the door handle, and when you move the door handle it pulls the rod, but will not open the door. I am at a loss sir, any help would be appreciated.
it's a little hard for me to diagnose because I'm not there however can you open the door from the outside when the door shut, if so, what you need to do is take the door panel off and follow the rod from beginning to end and make sure that no pieces broke or for some reason the rod came out of the other side. try that
as for your door lock I want you to try and make sure that the wiring harness is in tight pull it out and push it back in also with the door panel off and the wires connected see if you can lock or unlock. what you do is lean the door panel against the door with the wires connected and see if the power lock Works in it just might be tied up. this will be a long shot but see if there's a separate fuse for the passenger side power lock door I doubt it but check anyways. when you try to lock and unlock the door does it make any noise
Did does open with the outside door handle and it also makes noise when trying to do the power locks from either the driver side or the passenger side you just don't get any results
Daniel Meadows wish I was there to help you out, there's something tying it up I wish I was there so I could check it out, for some reason there's got to be a a way to trace it. if it's making noise for the power locks then you know it's getting power. as for the door it should open what I would do is trying to pull on the rod with your hand and see why it's not opening. so try tracing it down with the door panel off. it's got to be something simple let me know what you find out
Does anyone kno how to fix the window not aligning when going up? Both tracts have the window between the gaskets. I have a 1/4 inch of space on the top right and it sags towards side mirror.
What ended up being the problem? I'm having the same issue. Feels like there is too much play in the window and everything is tightened down. Yet it doesn't close all the way.
@@agtjamesb007 the window want sitting right on the bottom of the tract. I kept messing around without it and finally got it to sit right. You’ll get it.
Hey Denis After i replaced the window power regulator on the passenger side of the car ,Dashboard Warning Lights went on(including check engine light srs,tsl ...) and now i can only lock the car mechanically but my window power regulator works fine but the dashboard warning light are constantly on .I checked the fuses and and the connectors to the power window modulator and they were fine.Did you have the same problem?I removed the door panel again and check all the connection again.
I solved the problem.it was was blown fuse on the passenger side for back up and clock. It is interesting that it did not worked initially when i changed the fuse. The car resets the computer codes after 5 minutes of driving.

Sounds like a power issue and your motor/regulator is close to dying. You're likely getting an early warning that the motor is on it's way to failing.
