- Wonder Woman. Potentially the greatest and most memorable female superhero of all time. A a member of the Trinity along side Batman and Superman and being a leader of the DC universe she will be no stranger to unpopular opinions whether they be positive or negative.

My extreme hot take is that most of her relationships are heavy-handed and I like her single doesn’t matter who she’s with if it’s a superhero or a normal person like Steve Trevor
I totally agree on the WonderBat take. It's definitely a more interesting relationship than Batman and Catwoman's. Also, I grew up with the Justice League series, so I've always kinda shipped it 😂
Nah. Batman only has one true love and that is Selina Kyle. No one else.
My hottake is that Justice League War's WW and SM pairing just worked and I hated how they weren't properly explored, but treated like a bad idea conceptually. Returning Superman back to his safe space.
They both love humanity but feel like outsiders, Wonder Woman had a lot more energy and vigor which Superman kind of balanced out with his level head, but he wasn't being a stick in the mud either. They looked like they would make work, fun. Honestly, seeing that power couple going on high scale crazy adventures together would be so refreshing because they could face some of DC's craziest heavy hitters together. It just sounds like a lot of fun. Also would be a break from Batman's grounded stories.
Thanks for including me! I absolutely agree with your "hot take". It was great in the Justice League animated series how they both wanted it, but Batman said they shouldn't. It's a shame it didn' work out, that is a ship I am 100% on board with. Can't wait for the next unpopular opinions video.
Not a fun of shipping Batman and Wonder Woman though i liked their underlying sexual tension in the DCAU. The problem with the pairing is that Bruce very clearly has a type. He likes dark and borderline (sometimes not so borderline) criminal women
The most recent Amazon's event was boring to a ridiculous point. I believe it was called War of The Amazons but we barely see battle between them and then Chaos shows up but it's stopped thanks to the sacrifice of two characters who'se names doesn't matter the disaster was avoided.
Nobody knows what to do with these characters, that's why a new warrior is introduced every 6 months
Oh! Diana as the daughter of Ares would create huge tension! Craving war while hoping for peace! Her Zeus lineage doesn't seem to add much. Unless Hera gets jealous of Zeus' infidelity...
I would agree Wonder Woman's best romance is Batman (Steve Trevor has never been interesting) but I will always have a soft spot for BatCat. I understand the problems, but when it's written well it's great. But as someone who grew up with the DCAU, definitely 100% Wonderbat for the win.
I have two hot takes on Wonder Woman, but they kinda connect so maybe just one in two parts? A big problem for Wonder Woman is that, unlike most of the other heroes, she doesn't have a main city to call home, which makes it harder to write. She's had a few in the past, but nothing that truly sticks. That also makes it harder to write Wonder Woman sidekicks, since Robin lives in the same city as Batman and so does Speedy, but Wonder Girl not so much (at least as far as I know).
I wonder what the next hot takes video will be. Teen Titans would be awesome, but Green Lantern, Nightwing, Aquaman, or Red Hood would be cool.
I've always loved wonder woman but she desperately needs her own comic like the killing joke or all star superman. Getting into her comics is difficult because there's never been a truly amazing run for people to start on or for people to recommend. Another negative is her weak rouges gallery. The only ones people know are cheetah and ares. If she had a better rouges gallery to be utilised in her comics this would only elevate her stories and bring more attention to them
There is, both George ruckas runs, but yea i agree she needs some iconic events such as Batman had with knightfall and ect. I also disagree with rouges gallery part, her rouges gallery is my second fav behind batman, love dr psycho cheetah (barbara minerva) circe and ares ^^.
Tbh yh, giving it a second thought her rouges aren't that bad, I especially love circe
Her rogues aren't bad but there's so few of them that are memorable that it'd be hard to make movies without using up all of her interesting ones
Have you even tried looking up good runs for her? And an unknown rogues gallery isn’t a “bad” one at all

I completely agree about the WonderBat ship being the best, alternate relationship for Batman and Wonder Woman respectively.
The justice league animated series cartoon really sold me with the idea of them as a couple and I could really see some chemistry between them in the DCEU.
And, like you said, if they had a kid, that child would be a force to be reckoned with. Not only would they have all of the power of a demigod, but the kid would get combat training from Wonder Woman (whom Bruce has said is the greatest fighter in the world) the resources, detective training, and equipment of Batman.
I dont think Wonder Woman's Rogue's gallery is that weak, she's just had so many mid writers writing for her solo book. Veronica Cale is also a noteworthy villain of her's, her own Lex Luthor type character. There's been a number of characters who've been revamped into the interesting characters we know them as today thanks to a talented writer retooling them.

Wonder Woman is my 2nd favorite superhero (after Superman). Grant Morrison's Earth 1 version is my favorite modern take on Wonder Woman. I love how it uses some of the original sci-fi elements William Moulton Marston
Mcreated. It felt more respectful of the original purpose and feel of the character. George Perez's version is my 2nd favorite and I love what he did with the mythological elements but I don't like how he left out the sci-fi elements. The current Wonder Woman series by Tom King is pretty good. I don't like the new Trinity character so far, but other than that the story is interesting.
My hot Take would be that I don't think people are telling the truth when she ties them up with her golden lasso. If some goddess from Themyscira had that glowing lasso wrapped around me, I don't think my first thoughts would be to rat out my fellow criminals and divulge the address to our secret layer 🤣🤣🤣. So they definattley got that wrong. And they even made it worse in The Flash movie!!!! That scene was so cheesy and totally not necessary.
Tbh about her not commandinh other olympians even though shes the daughter of zeus ares, hephaestus, hermes, athena, apollo and more are also his kids but neither do they so seems more in like with how it usually works there
A hot take of mine is i think its kinda weird how hera isnt one of her main enemies considering how hera usually reacts to zeus's kids from other women and shes the wife of zeus
Yes in a fight Superman would win but if it’s them trying to kill each other Wonder Woman wins we saw in that comic with max wellore was controlling him
And making him try to kill WW she still held her own but when she needed to figure out how to stop him with out killing him she cut his throat and stopped him and she wasn’t even trying to kill him

Wonder Woman being able to fly has always been weird to me, I think she’s cooler as just a pure on the ground warrior, unless the power is earned like she gets Hermes’ flying boots or something

Batman and superman are perfect foils. One is strong; The other is smart. One is brooding; The other is optimistic. Light and dark yada yada yada. I hate to say it but there is no room for Wonder Woman in that dichotomy. I feel like she is just as much of a paragon as superman, but just as contemplative and introspective as Batman. In that respect, she represents an interesting middle ground, but when these essential traits aren't kept in mind when writing her, it's easy for her to feel like the token woman. Classic lazy three man band: Hero, lancer, and girl.

Wonder Woman shouldn't be a demigod. In my head-canon, she's the daughter of Hercules and Hippolyta. Every few generations an Amazon Champion is selected to rekindle the a signal tower in Tartarus, whose gates the Amazons are charged to guard. When Hyppolita as Champion embarks on the quest, Ares interferes, causing a titan to nearly escape. Hercules, now a God, intervenes on behalf of Zeus to aid her. They reconcile and as a result Diana is born. Diana competes to become the next Champion after her mother steps down. Wonder Woman's powers are a function of her role as Champion. I think this makes for a more nuanced character and leaves a space to showcase her fighting skills and not just her power. It also gives her a learning arc to be able to fully utilize her abilities. And importantly it gives a background for why she's so competitive, stubborn and hates to lose. If she's born a demigod, then no Amazon would've been able to match her. Also Amazons are immortal only on Themyscira. They start aging when they leave the island. (Hence exile is effectively a death sentence.) Diana willingly leaving to avert a crisis on Man's world is her giving up her immortality, which shows her selfless side.
Also WonderBat is my favorite pairing. They really play off well against each other. They have a lot of core traits in common, they're both avid martial artists and take an almost academic interest in it. They're both from a ruling elite but have had to earn their position. And they deeply understand the concept of "noblesse oblige", going above and beyond take responsibility even when they don't have to. Diana prefers to wear her intentions on her sleeve while Bruce tends to obscure them but they generally are the same intentions. Also, Bruce has this innate trust which is only comparable to trust in Clark and Alfred. Thematically too, it makes a great pairing as Diana stands for Truth and Bruce stands for Justice. And you need to have truth to have Justice. Alas, the mental and storyline gymnastics and contortions DC goes to keep these two apart is just....🙄

Ares doesn't really need to be Diana's dad considering he's Hippolyta's father and therefore Diana's grandfather anyway.

I 100% agree with Wonder Woman not flying. It just doesn't feel right. When I imagine the trinity, Batman is a spy, Superman is a knight and Wonder Woman is a warrior. WW should be ferocious, always. On the ground, with the people, duking it out like she's one of them. You can picture her punching and kicking and stabbing while Superman flies and Batman sneaks around. Batman is meant to be the hero who operates in the Dark. Superman is an inspiration in the light and Wonder Woman mixes the two and fights in the light if day. On the ground. Like a human

Justice League made me a Wonderbat supporter. I’m glad I’m running into others who agree.
I like what WW represents but god I can't think of a single iconic storyline. It's to the point where when I think of her place in the trinity, I can't imagine anyone else taking her place and don't want anyone to take her place, but I struggle to justify it in relation to Superman and Batman.
I think the Batman ship is a kind of lazy way to make her interesting by linking her to a man, which feels like it goes against the strength of her independence.
