Who pays for the premium to the insurance companies? Will it increase the cost of tickets? This minister is just providing excuses for the airlines. Sounds like all talk and no concrete plan. We wait to see
"General Managers, Deputy General Manager, Assistant General Managers, Senior Managers, Deputy Senior Managers, Assistant Senior Managers, Managers, etc.... That's still bloody wasteful! And most of these crazy positions can be rolled together, go fully computerised and reduce these wastages! What a country!

Why is FAAN focusing on master plans for 5 metropolitan cities instead of starting with one to gauge progress and assess impact? While the idea of a hub is great, establishing an airport hub is no small feat. It requires sustainability and functionality. The issue with Nigeria's infrastructure is that it's not functioning optimally. I suggest FAAN focus on Abuja or Lagos for the hub.
How has Nigeria been passing IASA audits with all these missing “important “ equipment?

In addition to earlier comments, I would like to congratulate Seun for his thoroughness in asking relevant questions which is a clear indication that he does his home work before inviting his guest to the studio. The audience stay from the beginning of the program to end because of the quality of the discussion. It makes a lot of sense for the media to always bring in guests that have something to offer in terms of information and education as opposed to so call some self imposed analysts that show up in the studio and join their antagonistic host who turn the studio to a war platform or comedy stage. The only way for the media to assist the general public to hold elected and appointed official accountable is by inviting them to discussion such as this. However before they do so, they must do their homework so that the discussion will not turn against them as we have have seen in some other stations around the country. A good journalist will ask questions of the guest and allow he or she to answer and not the host telling the guest how to answer the questions or trying to pass judgment on the response given by the guest. It is the job of the audience to assess the host and the guest. Good job Seun.

Nigerians call for cost cutting in running the government, but the amount the Minister just indicated in tickets alone between Lagos and Abuja appears to mean nothing to those who have taken this issue as regional and political. If the Minister was not a listening leader he called to told his staff to forget about any relocation to Lagos. It was an operational decision fully reviewed by the staff and the leadership. When it comes to operational matters such as the Minister pointed out Nigerians should take sentiments out of it. How they feel Infact does not really matter when it comes to operational convenience and cost. saving. If the Minister has request N500m to acquire commuter planes for the employee to fly between Abuja and Lagos daily, the public would have considered it a waste. In fact the opposition parties would have been the first to attack the government.
Has anyone undercover that these aviation ministers, have done nothing yet?

Honorable minister, can we have one international airport in Edo or Delta State? When you take statistics on the numbers of travellers on every international flights to Nigeria, you'll agree with me that majority of the passengers are from Edo and Delta extractions. Say for example, an international airport in Edo State will simply serve the good people of Delta, Ondo and Kogi without having to go through major stress before getting home. Please put this in your plan and we will appreciate you.
Tell government to develop your state small at least(roads, infrastructure and all that)before foreign investors would care enough to want to invest in your state to fund the project
Thank you Seun. But u skipped something very important. I was waiting to hear about the Nigeria Air Project. How far with the aircraft that was launched as Nigeria Air? Although, it has been alleged to be a national scam, we still need update on that project from the present government because government is a continum.
It is to say that passengers have no where to sit at the Airport. Passengers have to be standing roaming about in the Airport. What is the honorable minister is doing for passengers comfortability.

Most of them walk around with no chair and table and at the end of the month they are paid salaries and nobody dare reprimand them because they are children of the elites. There are chairs and tables in Lagos so they come to Lagos where they will know what working responsibly is.

This guy is liar, Nigeria have radar coverage, the equipment was procured by Obasanjo administration. What he could said is to update the equipment not saying on Tv that he is procuring an entire radar coverage of Nigeria airspace from scratch as if Nigeria airspace never had radar coverage. This man turn around to claim he bought the equipments, watch in future he will claim he did it. All he saying here, this man will not do them. This man is very ignorant. Festus Kayomo you cannot set up a natural carrier. Nigeria as it is currently constituted cannot set a new national carrier. At least you need 100 to 200 billion dollars for purchase or leasing of aircraft. Even if set up national carrier, it will be a loss making venture. Make air peace national carrier cos America national carrier are airlines incorporated in America such as Delta airline and United Airline. You have Airpeace with lot of planes, yet you cannot mske Air peace national carrier, rather you prefer to set up new a national carrier like your predecessor. Anyway I know you can never deliver.

This may end up being another drain pipe to suck nigeria money. We had Nigeria Airways with national air carriers in the past used for jamboree to party at Europe and all over the world then, and it failed because of high level of corruption and bad management. I think the nigeria airport authority should focus on providing enabling environment and good management to encourage indigenous airlines thrive. FAAN doesn't have to manage her own aircrafts because Ethiopia has. Ethiopia has Rule of law or capital consequences embedded in their system. There are stiff penalties when any offense is committed in Ethiopia. That's not the case in nigeria. Not even a wise decision for any government to own and manage a business outfit.
Like the Radar thing for detection, nigerian corruption culture will not allow them to maintain and update the softwares because there is nothing much to share around. That means the cost of radar softwares update may end up being the cost of new Radar to fit their desired purpose😟

So this Festus Kayemo has got some common sense remaining in his brain. Even though it’s for the Zoo, it s a good move to take FAAN back to Lagos. North doesn’t contibute significant GDP to the economy. Their forced move to make northern Nigeria economically friendly and viable has always been destroyed by their people with the like of Boko Haram and ministry of destruction of innovation. They may start bombing flights in Abuja and north just to discontinue innovation. Therefore it’s a great move to relocate aviation ministry back to Lagos……to save Nigerians.
