    Mr. Ogawa has tremendously fluidity of notes in his playing. Beautiful interpretation. It is like saying which is your favorite color of a '61 Jaguar E-type. They are all beautiful, just a preference!

      @@shin-i-chikozima Awesome composers! Haven't delved to deep into Bach and never listened to Bruckner. What are some of your favourite pieces by them? I love Bach's Mass in B Minor though.
      Oh, I figured! Yoshimatsu is so underrated, in my opinion.

I’ve been researching her background to become better acquainted with her. How fortunate London is to have her residing and teaching there. How fortunate WE are to enjoy her gift(s) as an artist.       @@31Alden I've only heard her playing pieces by Debussy, but I believe she's made several recordings of works by other composers. Her playing of the "Arabesque No.1" is sublime, certainly to my untutored ears.

      I remember being utterly transfixed the first time I heard this piece. I was walking along a quiet street when I heard someone playing it on a piano in one of the houses. I had to stop and listen until they'd finished, even though I was supposed to be working at the time.

      @@davidharris2844 Transfixed … transformed by pianist Noriko Ogawa’s rendition of a favorite Debussy piece. My late father used to play this on the baby grand piano he purchased as a teenager in high school, the same baby grand I learned piano on.
      I love your story … being transfixed by this stunning piece trickling out of a house you were passing on the street. Even as you were supposed to be working! Wouldn’t Monsieur Debussy be both surprised AND thrilled by your response to one of his compositions. How lovely.

      It must have been lovely hearing your father playing this, a good memory. Not quite the same, but I have fond memories of my father playing "On the Sunny Side of the Street" and other similar tunes. Alas, I never learned to play the piano.

    Although Monet paintings are extraordinarily beautiful I think you need no paintings morbpoctures to fill your mind of images while listening to Debussy.
    He crafted such beautiful pieces that they themselves can create really vivid images in your mind!

    Amazing interpretation of this one of my favourite piano pieces. Even though I would have liked if some scales would have been played a tad quicker, to keep up the tension that I feel in this piece a bit more, I still get goose bumps while listening, as I have nothing to really complain about here.

    Por qué Debussy odiaba que lo identificaran con el movimiento impresionista parece que escapa al entendimiento, pero creo que sólo era mala voluntad de su parte hacia las "etiquetas" de su tiempo. Lo irónico de la historia es que terminó siendo el compositor más asociado con el arte de Monet. Para mí, combinar esta música con estas imágenes es lo más cercano que encuentro a la felicidad.       Me alegro de que hayas disfrutado del video Ricardo. Creo que probablemente tengas razón sobre la aversión de Debussy a que su música esté vinculada al impresionismo; tienes la sensación de que él quería que fuera apreciado como una cosa separada y por derecho propio. Sin embargo, me pregunto si no todos, hasta cierto punto, estamos subliminalmente influenciados por los tiempos en los que vivimos.

      It's called "The Seine near Giverny" and was painted in 1885.

      Glad you enjoyed the video. I'm afraid I don't know the individual names of the paintings, but they are all by Claude Monet and you should be able to find the information online.

      Hi and thanks for your kind comment. I remember hearing this for the first time as a teenager; I was walking along a quiet street and someone was playing it on a piano in one of the houses. It was so lovely I just had to stop and listen until they had finished; anybody looking at me must have thought I was loitering with intent.

      Arabesque no1 , Clair de lune, Reverie and La fille aux cheveux de lin are my favorites, Debussy’s music is on another level

      I could actually see that, yeah! Sort of keeps it flowing and doesn't ground it too much.
      I adore Arabesque though and think it is perfect as is.

      @@Ziad3195 it's an amazing piece. I think the last note makes the ending very final. Whereas if removed it's more like a candle going out but the smoke gently drifts away into the world and this creation continues in silence
