i have been watching you two for a few years now, so I watched the 2min video on the page before watching this and already backed it, your videos have made me a better DM so now i can add even more of your stuff into my games. thank you.

It's hard to believe that this is your first book. You've been influencing my DMing techniques for years now. And I love that this book seems to be my favorite TYPE of supplemental book, which is a book that is easy to pick apart and use as a toolkit of ideas, resources, and systems.
Jim, Pruitt, as soon as I found out you guys started a Kickstarter, I backed it. You guys have been at this for so long and have been a much needed voice of sensibility and relatability in the larger D&D community. My pledge to your Kickstarter is my way of saying “Thank you, and keep it up!”
I’m so happy for you guys and Emma! Your content has been invaluable for years and it’s nothing short of fantasy to have access to a book from all your great minds! And it’s already fully funded! Here’s to you!
I love the pitch for this book. Rather than presenting your homebrew setting for other people to learn, this set of guides allows groups to create their own setting on the same themes. This is how settings should be presented. Once again, Web DM presents practical guides to get you playing right away. Love it.
Congrats on the launch! It is the journey. What is likely the most successful fantasy story of all time is based on a journey. I can feel Thundarr the Barbarian, Taarna the Taarakian, and more with this toolkit.

Super excited about the Psion being an all day workhorse. Really can set them apart from just another kind of caster. I would love to see WebDM Plays do some streams featuring class/subclasses from this book.

Believe it or not. I have been listening to you for the past year (while living in Japan) and designed my world which is a combination of He-man, sci-fi time travel through soul magic, and Numenera. This book of yours will fit in perfectly! Thus I thank you for the passion and your hard work gentlemen! :D I am buying your book with pleasure!
I don't always agree with you guys, but I have to say that I tend to enjoy your perspective and ideas much more than I do most of the other D&D TH-camrs. You two always seem to have given things a lot more careful thought than the rest ever do. Not sure if I'll be able to get in on the Kickstarter, but if I can, I will. This seems like a pretty worthy addition to any group's arsenal.
Can safely say im more than satisfied and happy with wierd wastelands. Ive insfused it with elements from numenera that has completely transformed the storm kings thunder campaign i had been working on. Ive had a chance to play using thw character options and wow, what you've done with the subclasses is superb! Great video!! 3 comments; 1. Super excited for this book! I have been working on a Western game for a bit and Wilderness exploration has been on my mid a lot 2. So happy that this video really feels like you have re-found your place after Travis left/ probably Covid fatigue. (Completly understandable when you loose a party member and someone new joins the table it takes a bit to readjust) 3. A Stinger!!!! Please keep the Stinger, it just makes every video.
As an aspiring DM, the pillar of play that I've always wanted to focus is exploration. Which the setting I imagined up was a high magic setting that focused on transmutation, and their downfall was caused by overextending and making a super Tarrasque that ended them.
Our goal with Worlds of Web DM series is to shore up the Exploration pillar in many ways. For Weird Wastelands, wilderness exploration, travel, and resource management are what we think fits the most. For others, we'll look at other aspects that need support!
Back in the days of 3rd edition and 3.5 I bought a lot of random splat books and the like based almost entirely on whether or not one of the dozen prestige classes in those books jumped out at me. Now in the days of 5th edition, I look at my D&D shelves and I take note of which 3.5 books are still useful in 5e as encounter and exploration inspiration and aids. Just about all the prestige classes are only useful for brain storming thematic reflavors of existing 5e classes. About 1 in every 500 feats might be translatable from 3.5 to 5e. Maybe. What is useful in 5e are the monster lore books with lair maps like draconomomicon, libre mortis, and lords of madness, the various monster manuals, and the environment theme books. Stormwrack, Frostburn, and Sandstorm are among my most useful older books for those times when I have to throw a bunch of curve balls at my players. If the party boards a ship or joins a merchant caravan and I say "You travel for six weeks and nothing happens." then I've failed. I am thrilled that the WebDM team is putting together a tool box book that will stand tall alongside the most useful wilderness encounter and exploration books on my shelf.
i checked out the free preview of the book and its pretty solid so far. The magicore (magic-eating manticore) was really neat and felt like a real monster vs just a bag of hitpoints like most 5e monsters.
