    The new Swedish assault rifles are based on AR15 and AR18 platforms (5,56 and 7,62).
    New sniper weapons and machine guns are also coming soon.

    It's light infantry/air assault, to some extent a bit specialized, e.g in case of a war one could potentially be used for distrupting the enemies rear, by ambushes/assaults, field work/mines, or by directing fire from artillery, aircraft and helicopters against important targets, so long foot patrols for infiltration makes it a physically demanding MOS. One of the primary purposes would be to force the opponent to commit resources deep within their grouping for security, thus easying the pressure on other friendly frontline units. At K3 Rangers there is a company that is special operations capable, 323rd Squadron in the 32nd Intelligence Battalion. K3 would also be the conventional muscle for SOG.

    New kit is going to be delievered the next few years, the nordic countries got together and ordered the same stuff as far as clothing and uniforms goes, will still have the M90 camo for Sweden. Same with helmets, at least in a first batch, but I believe that was Norway, Sweden and Finland. For weapon systems Finland and Sweden has cooperated for a new service rifle, a DMR and a sniper rifle, from finnish SAKO.

    Cheers i just found you and subbed im from Sweden and grew up next to an coastal ranger base lol. You should do reaction to Swedish Jaeger unit training youd call it ranger soldiers school. Its 8 or nine episodes i believe. You get a lot of insight into one of the toughest swedish landbased trainings.

    If the Swedish Rangers are of the "Hunter" kind (direct translation of "Jagare") then they are special forces. You have the Marine/Amfibie version they train in the archipelago. Then you have in-land forest style rangers. Then there are the Paratroopers. They are not regular army but special forces yes. Should be more trained than the Marines. So US Rangers and perhaps Marine Force Recon etc would be closer in equivalence.
    The new rifles that Sweden will use are made by "SAKO" in Finland, they will use the same weapons platform. Metal receivers designed for more arctic environments and based on AR platform.
    See if they will live up to and function like the AK5 did.

    • @onetwo968
      @onetwo968 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They are not special forces, "Jägare" definitely have attendance in special forces, but you're not by being "Jägare" by itself. They are part of the army, but are specialized in various areas as mentioned above. Special forces or "specialförband" however is an entirely different thing on top of that.

    The Swedish AK5 handgun will be replaced with a new weapon. Since the Leopard that Sweden has has improved considerably. It's called Tank 122. Right now, the largest NATO exercise is underway and it started in January and will last until April.

    Sweden like a lot of other Nordic countries try to focus on a small core of professionals formations and other elite units as the based of their armed forces along side conscripted personal that make up the majority of overall personal in uniform. They all want larger military sizes but due to their economies and population sizes it makes it harder for them to levy them for a long amount time unless in major conflict or rather the defense of their said nation.
    These formations most likely expeditionary style units/their own things for said stated missions.

    By looking at the comments, I'm sick of the disrespect.
    I'm sick of the lack of respect due to people saying who's better than the other. US Marine Infantry has a lot of similarities in a lot of ways. Look at our history. The Marine Corps is a light infantry force with the highest of physical standards equivalent to SOCOM(arguably), just like the Swedish Rangers and / or US Army Rangers, we're just bigger in numbers. Rangers are smaller based on their mission orientation. US Marines is a larger light Infantry force because they kill all and destroy all. Basically, it's a straight occupying light infantry force. Therefore, standards and perception will be different based upon outside opinions. US Marines capture an objective with little to no intel. With that said, there is no battle lost by US Marines except in WW2 when Japan took the Phillipines, and that was because an Army General told Marines to stand down and surrender because they ran out of ammo and supplies. That's it!! With that said, when US Marines entered battle, there was no stopping until the mission was done and won, till this day. We're just different. Simply put, the disrespect about Marines irritates me. Ask a Navy Seal, Army Ranger(in any country), or anyone from NATO who wouldn't want US Marines to fight alongside them. OORAH!! I love all my brothers from country and from across the pond.

    Hello, Thank you for your reaction/comments/questions.
    You see some Rangers in the beginning but most swedish soldiers you see in this are part of the mech.inf unit on the island Gotland.
    @4:36 Its the NLAW.
    @4:45 Here is a link to the first video of a series where you get to follow Swedish ranger/jaeger soldiers, their "bootcamp" you can say. The series follow them through these 271 days (8.8 month) of the basics and the videos you find in the Swedish defense force youtube channel. unfortunately the first 6 "chapters" have no autotranslate but maybe someone can help you fix a subtitle fore those. link: th-cam.com/video/Mp9sRxfIY_I/w-d-xo.html You will get a good insight to the basics. After that comes more advanced traning for those that choose to continue in the army but that is not covered by that serie.
    @5:03 to the end of video the US marines are in frame.
    @5:40 USMC soldiers step out on to that field. If you look at the background there are forest areas. Swedish soldier, not just rangers, take the long way in concealment if not cover. eg 10 meter at least in from the field moving through the forest. Better late than late. Plan timetable taking into the account the environment, weather, time of day, own and enemy sensors and own water, food and weight carried among other things
    @6:00 If one need to pass an open field a squad of 8 - 10 soldiers tries, to at least, use a square of 100x100 meter for stread in width and depth. And never ever stop, standing up, doing so, just saying.😉

      Well, I disagree, them Marines are probably green. Besides, it's training, so I'm sure any discrepancies were addressed afterward. That is why you train. In any case, I'm sure if the s**t hit the fan, the Swedish Rangers would definitely like for the US Marines to back them up. Just ask the US Army😉. When they were in deep s**t countless times in country they called in the Marines😏. Oorah!!

      @znail4675 No doubt, Swedish Rangers are awesome. They're compared more like Marine Reconnaissance/Force Reconnaissance than regular Marine Infantry.
