For this outstanding package we teamed up with the ever impressive Alex Hutchings and our good friends over at Toontrack to bring you this incredible 5 track download made entirely with Toontrack’s products!
Alex is already a world renowned guitarist and musician and watching these performances, it's easy to see why! Alex's versatility and ability to perform such incredible solo improvisations over a whole range of backing tracks and styles is second to none.
In this exceptional package Alex effortlessly jams over some Blues, Funk, Jazz, Country and Rock style tracks bringing out a tonne of licks that are to die for!
Alex was given free reign over Toontrack's entire catalogue of software to create these tracks, so he naturally took full advantage of the opportunity and let it rip in the studio - and what a result!!! When creating each track nothing but Toontrack software was used and we have shared exactly which presets Alex used for the rhythm and lead guitars as well as the presets kits used for the drums in the download package too! So if you want to sound JUST like Alex you can plug in, load up the presets and replicate each track yourself whilst learning and mastering Alex's incredible solos with the included TAB/Notation and backing tracks!
For those that are wondering (and because we get asked a lot) Alex tunes his guitar in straight fourths. This allows for more symmetry in the chord/scale shapes and lends itself better to visualising your way around the neck when improvising and composing. Because of this, Alex's strings are tuned to EADGCF but don't fret (pun intended), we have also included the solos/lines transposed into standard EADGBE tuning as well.
As ever, we have accurately transcribed every note and included the TAB/notation in the download, full backing tracks, audio solos and track notes.

One of the most versatile guitarists on the planet, he's bloody brilliant at everything! And a smashing guy to boot.
In nearly 60 years of playing all kinds of guitars, amps, and styles, I see this young man as the top of the heap of all of the expressive, melodic and versatile (all styles) of the many guitar players I've ever seen, played with or listened to. He's built, clearly, on all that has come before him, and then put his own unique signature on it. Speed, multi-technique, incredible melodic expression, and perfect timing are incredibly difficult to master - most really good guitarists have mastered one, or 2, but VERY, VERY few have mastered all of these things. Fascinating that he tunes his guitar in "straight fourths" - and I can see how this would improve the symmetry of soloing - I'm going to try it. Thanks for posting this. He is just...excellence personified, and elegance of movement in motion.

I love this dude! A virtuoso who can shred, but who still puts feeling and restraint in his playing. He doesn't use an Uzi for every measure of the song. The Uzi is there when he needs it though. : )

A7 / C#7 / D9 / B7(i like to add the #5)
Bmin7 (move the root from 7 - 9 - 10 - 11 each beat) / E9 - E7b9 / E7
A7 / F#7 / B7 / E7
Really not sure what he plays for the C#7 but it sounds to be based around there. Remember this is just a basic structure, Alex uses many embellishments and inversions which are up to the discretion of the player. Criticisms or corrections welcome!
