Mr. Diresta, I have been following you for about 13 years. The big works you do in that small shop in the basement. It wouldn't fit in this big shop. With love from Turkey. ❤
As someone who works with pallets every day and sees the character and possibilities of the wood it was great to see you turn one into a work of usable art. Great Job.
So many fabulous tips, left me open mouthed about how so many difficulties that have vexed me now have remedies. Thank you so much for providing these super handy techniques for my work.
Man you're the best. I also fear the complexity of chair building but you just go at it on a mission. That's the biggest take away we all need, forget the fear and tackle the task. Love your work, love your channel thanks for what you guys do!
Years ago, I found your channel after watching one of Pask's earliest Scrapwood Challenges. I'm very glad that I did. You make incredible things Jimmy 👍
Two of my favorite makers in one vid ❤❤❤ Just today I made a firewoodshed from old wood I had laying around for a friend with little money. He provided food and drink and was very pleased with the results and so was I, I brought just enough wood.
Great chair. Looks good, comfortable, with no worries about resting a boot on one of the chair rungs or sitting down with a tool in a back pocket. I really appreciate your attitude toward the joinery - instead of fussing with trying to make it look professionally done, just make it work. And, the video has enough detail for us regular folks to give it a go too.
I've made several things from pallets. Crap wood to work with but fun to create with them. If you're fortunate enough to acquire some decent ones made with from some decent pine then you can make some awesome things. I just use a reciprocating saw to take them apart. Your chair is sweet! Even learned a couple things! And remember, you know the owner so you do you and how you want it. 😊
Rad Jimmy! I am not really a builder, so your videos are like 90's screen savers in the background in my photo studio - slightly better that a flying toasters! But do really love your material. You inspire me. Cheers, Steve
A great classic form. I'm also a fan, I have several like this in my house. Been waiting for this one since you were talking about it on the podcast. Really like how it looks. The nail holes, cracks, and spalting give some nice character. Thanks for sharing!
Just seen Pasks Table, it's incredible! I absolutely love the Chair you made, this simple and classic design is my favorite. The used and weathered Wood makes it even more awesome!
People often talk about haters, but I rarely see any. Unless it’s dishonest clickbait like “I made this $1200 coffee table from pallets” - but they deserve all the crap they’re given.
Great video! I loved the pacing of the video with the voiceover as I watched the chair come together. My favorite part was how simple you made the tapered legs on the sled.
I've never built a chair for the exact reasons you describe. So much joinery and time required. Your screws will probably do the trick just fine. I had an idea though. Rather than screws, how about drill and peg it, with glue of course. Seems more traditional somehow.
Mr. Diresta, sizi yaklaşık 13 yıl takip etmekteyim. O bodrum katında küçük dükkan da yaptığınız büyük işler. Bu büyük dükkana sığmaz. Türkiye'den sevgilerimle . ❤
I have a couple similar chairs. One has curved gussets and is substantially stronger than the one without. Might be worth adding since you’re counting on screws only.
Damn Jimmy, you are incredibly talented. I love the way you improvise to achieve what you need. Rather than making jig after jig to accomplish the various cuts, you come up with a quick and efficient way to do it. Damn you are creative! Thanks for the vid
biscuits, dominoes, or dowels, then glue and screw, or sorta like Laura did, glued, then run the dominoes (or dowels) from the outside in and instead of 2 plugs over screws, it 2 and a dowel or 2. I need furniture for my house, (really a computer chair and beds is all I currently have because Bachelor with Cats) and I think a combo like this would suffice. Though the pallet wood I had went into making a 15 x 12 shed (they were REALLY big pallets of oak and Southern Yellow Pine) I have access to some decent stuff.
❤❤ Jimmy! TRASH to CASH lives again! As always: Great Build! Loved this Video, always learning from you -Thank You! I had to buy your Neon Signs! What a Great Idea, Beautiful Item(s) & a very Special Opportunity for your Fans! Have a Wonderful Thanxgiving Jimmy!
Hi Jimmy, watching your video, all the way from Denmark 👍😊. You're TH-cam videos, are really inspiring 🙂 and inspires me a lot, and makes me want to get into making wood working projects to 😁 Beautiful chair 👍👍
The concept of Jimmy Diresta being intimadated by joinery is like being intimidated by a Labrador puppy! Jimmy just scowls at woodwork and it gives in.
Now that was a really awesome chair build Jimmy! Maybe next time you could just use dowels for the areas that you want to join. Have a very happy Turkey Day! 👍👍🦃🦃🔨🔨
I've been watching your channel for 14 years now. How time flies man. As I am from Germany, I've not seen your show back then , it was pure algorithmic coincidence. Thanks for all ,you have been a inspiration, although now I think you're a savage and a chicken for not attempting real joinery!
Jimmy, I have to say be careful on where you use pallets from. Many get reused for a wide variety of things. I needed a piece of hardwood to make some metal shaping forms from so I grabbed an oak pallet at the local hardware store. Well.. a few days later I’ve got horrible itchy burn like lesions wherever the sawdust from that had landed on me. My Dr had never seen anything like it. Best guess was it was some chemical had leeched into the wood and led to this. It took weeks to get over and was quite painful.
If that’s what you can do with scrap wood, I (for one) would love to see what you could do with quality timber and joinery - my challenge is now to get enough thumbs up to sway your decision… thank you, as always, for sharing.
Jimmy, I'd give you shit for your avoidance of proper chair joinery, but you give yourself so much shit already. At least you own it. I'll grant you that. Well done.

Nice! This one feels like 'the old vids' from the NY workshop. Enjoyed it, thank you!
Да, тоже вспомнил старые ролики из середины и конца десятых годов. 👍
So many fabulous tips, left me open mouthed about how so many difficulties that have vexed me now have remedies. Thank you so much for providing these super handy techniques for my work.
You are the perfect inspiration for the world to discover their own potential. Never change. You are making a difference. Thanks
Your narrated content is enjoyable. Thanks for sharing it.

You make it look easy, as always. Love watching you work and the commentary is great.
Beautiful chair. Love the nail holes, rust stains, and cracks. I’m probably late, but congrats on 2 million subscribers.
a sketch, a palette, and mainly some freestyle woodwork .... absolutely love it!

Always enjoy watching you build things. What a great conversion from pallet to chair. Thank you!

That sketch you made in the beginning of the video was amazing. Great video. Thank you.
I'd like to see a book of his sketches. 👍
@@saginawdanI show on Patreon sometimes
Very nice! I need to find pallets with that kind of wood around these parts

This build is one of my favorites, quick, cool, could be done in my garage with my tools. Love it.
Another great transformation with so many tips and tricks to learn from Jimmy. Thanks for sharing
Nice chair Jimmy! Perfect for the workshop. Who would think you'd fine such a nice grain pattern in a pallet? Love it.
My favorite chair style! Thanks, Jimmy! 😊
Hello Jimmy beautiful Chair beautifully made good job well done
Rad Jimmy!
I am not really a builder,

But do really love your material.
You inspire me.
Cheers,

I believe that your style of building things is the main reason for the Diresta phenomenon that people love, only you can get away with it
I use pallets to make stuff, this is one of the best pallet builds I’ve seen. Top work Jimmy.
The vice grip trick is great!! Nice form and great character in the wood.
A great classic form. I'm also a fan, I have several like this in my house. Been waiting for this one since you were talking about it on the podcast. Really like how it looks. The nail holes, cracks, and spalting give some nice character. Thanks for sharing!
No One's Gonna Know... I think I snorted at that one. Nice callback Jimmy! lol
Just seen Pasks Table, it's incredible! I absolutely love the Chair you made, this simple and classic design is my favorite. The used and weathered Wood makes it even more awesome!
Nice project! Don’t let haters give you a hard time about joinery. They are likely the ones that get everything from IKEA 😂.
People often talk about haters, but I rarely see any. Unless it’s dishonest clickbait like “I made this $1200 coffee table from pallets” - but they deserve all the crap they’re given.
A great classic form.
Incredible. Great work Jimmy, that looks amazing.
Great video! I loved the pacing of the video with the voiceover as I watched the chair come together. My favorite part was how simple you made the tapered legs on the sled.
Nice one, with a lot of character!
Instead of the screws, long, visible dowels may be an idea.
I've never built a chair for the exact reasons you describe. So much joinery and time required. Your screws will probably do the trick just fine. I had an idea though. Rather than screws, how about drill and peg it, with glue of course. Seems more traditional somehow.
Great looking chair man, the spalting really popped with finish.

If it looks like a chair, it is a chair! #ClassicDiresta
Hey Jimmy! That chair has so much character. Awesome content.
I have a couple similar chairs. One has curved gussets and is substantially stronger than the one without. Might be worth adding since you’re counting on screws only.
His ability to just visualize something... and then make it..... Just Un-Matched.... so freakin much talent! Diresta is a Gem!
When an artist’s soul gets decades of practical skills development overlayed you get a jimmydiresta.
I'm from Brazil and I really admire your work. Congratulations
Admiring all your free styling techniques. No numbers. (or so it appears) Nice.
Reminds me of the mirror made from NYPD barriers that were abandoned and definitely not stolen. One of my favourite videos.
You are so inspirational. Amazing work!
This makes me want to put together a wood shop again. Life happens sometimes and a once enjoyable craft has been moved to the back burner.
This chair is a beauty!
haa thanks jimmy... thats really cheered me up... no fuss.. bosh.. done. xx much love
Damn Jimmy, you are incredibly talented. I love the way you improvise to achieve what you need. Rather than making jig after jig to accomplish the various cuts, you come up with a quick and efficient way to do it. Damn you are creative! Thanks for the vid
Stunning chair, Jimmy! Really beautiful work!!! 😃
About the joinery, you can always use dowels. 😉
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

One chair to be proud of Jimmy.

The power of simplicity
Awesome content
Love all the hard work
Happy turkey day, blessings to the family. Where’s your brother and nephew?
I think there might be a future in making stuff from pallet wood. We could call it improvecycle or something.
Well done.
Thank you!
Well done!

Russellville!?!?! That’s where we live! I had no idea!!!
very nice result! quite a bit a work on junk wood, I'd be a bit worried of the slanted grain of the rear legs near the floor though...
19:43 Ha!! Screw the joinery! That's hilarious, cuz you DID, for the most part, screw the joinery. I see what ya done there!
"No one's gonna know...their gonna know" I don't know if anyone picked up on that reference!
That pose at the end though
Love this!
Of course he can he's jimmy diresta
Of course you can make it! You’re jimmy diresta
Such a great video
Nice job
Good to see ya🙂👍👍👍👍👍
So cool.👍👍👍👍
Jimmy, I'd give you shit for your avoidance of proper chair joinery, but you give yourself so much shit already. At least you own it. I'll grant you that. Well done.

Огонь. Привет с Украины. Ваше творчество божественно .
