SCENTHUSIASM: Q&A The Perfect Fragrance?

- Talking about questions that arose this week: Is there such a thing as someone's perfect fragrance? Do we want perfumes as life partners, or as good friends? What happens when your favourite fragrance is discontinued? Is it justified to buy a "dupe" - and how we found out this week that a bunch of charlatans were pretending to fake most of the world's indie brands but were actually faking the fakery. We talk about how to survive trade shows, and smell Revlon's Moon Drops and I tell the story of how Guy de la Bedoyere inspired our 7 Crimes of Passion series and in which neither or us could remember all seven. Then we mention our next crowdfunding project and finish on how "get rich quick" schemes don't really exist, especially in perfumery and writing, and why we need to have hobbies for enjoyment and not for making money. The last 30 seconds is probably the best bit.
"Fumoir" by Profumi and "Al Oudh"' by Artisan Parfumeur, absolutely great and perfect. Unfortunately they stopped making Al Oudh :(
This happens. It hurts.
Think the other Crimes of Passion scent you forgot is called Goddess of Love & Perfume. Great video. I'm looking forward to your next crowd funder and to trying Le Bain de McBain
Yes! We remembered for the second film. 😂
There might not have been loads of perfume creation talk, but this video made me smile almost immediately. Thank you for engaging and uplifting content.
Thank you. 😁 I'll post part 2.
Hi madam Sara, very good discussion. I think that people will always try to copy, no matter what and that should not be a deterrence for the original creator. There is a very famous incense brand by name Satya Nagchampa. There are so many copies available in market, however, none as successful like the real one.
True, I think you're right. We just have to keep going!
Haven't seen that table so clean in a while! 😄 Incredibly fickle, this hobby. Preferences can change so often that anything perfect is unlikely to remain so for long. "Variable" or "floating" perfection perhaps? In either case, 'twattery' officially going into the vocab! 😆
Arthur's friend Francisco has joined us and is tidy.

Hello! First thank you for the practical information you offer! Second, I am trying to recreate in a perfume Quince flower fragrance and any suggestion you have to use as a combination of essential oils is very much appreciated.
hi there :) love your channel from ITALY!! i have some problems to dissolve labdnanum absolute and tolù balsam. how do I diluited them as they re really dense and sticky? thank you guys for your answers :)
Melt them a bit, then get out as much as you can into a beaker. It will dissolve pretty easily in ethanol. 😊
Put your closed container of absolute in container with hot water for a few moments. It will be come much more mobile
This is the first time I've seen your hair not in a ponytail - ever. :) Le Bain de McBain is a brilliant name for a perfume.
It's a shame that someone out there is stealing the names of your products trying to make a buck... I hope they don't last long. I tried to buy some discontinued things (both perfume and not) from a website that was brokering items that were hard to find, with no success, but at least they seemed legit and I got a full refund.
It's all gone! Cut off, disappeared!
@@SarahMcCartney4160 Do you mean the hair, the website, or both?
👉Thank You, another fine episode! 👈✨️
Thank you. Arthur thinks we have the best chats when I'm absolutely knackered.
