    This is what Le Mans and Group C is about: maintaining a fast and relatively relaxed pace and the 956/962 was really, really good at it.

      @@vinniehuish3987 Modern sports prototypes can reach close to 340KM, that's still fast. Again, I just like all racecars. Why is that such a problem to you? Like seriously...Has the toxic masculinity gotten so bad in the car community, that now I can't enjoy all racecars old or new, without some asshole laughing at me or making fun of me for it? Seriously man have a sense of honor...don't be a asshole.

      Your comment should have 10,000 likes. I agree. Cars are so technical now that they don't even need drivers. Give me a car with a clutch and gear shifter. I love watching classic cars racing. I'm old enough to remember watching these cars and Cobras and E types and bird cage Maseratis on TV.

    Ich weiß nicht genau warum, aber diese Art Rennautos waren immer die geilsten für mich. Das Charisma ist nicht zu überbieten. Auch wenn heute alles fortschrittlicher ist, es kommt heute bei mir vergleichsweise viel weniger Stimmung auf, als bei diesen Rennwagen.

    If the car was sentient it would be telling stories to the driver how "back in my day" the Mulsanne straight used to be not parted into three short ones by the chicanes.

      He was getting 8,100 rpm on the stretch between Mulsanne Corner and Indianapolis. That’s pretty close to as high as you want to go in that car.

      I guess you dont know how these cars are. That door is closed as good as it can. I dont think you understand how rigorous the safety checks at le mans classic are. Anyway fuck talking about safety and enjoy the insane downforce with ground effects and 800 hp

      @@americanpride9733 Both but especially top speed. And the today's F1 cars can reach more than 370 km/h in Monza, you can take the Charles Leclerc's pole as an example. The top speed a LMP1 car could reach 2019 was only 350 km/h.
      I also think that WEC should return to the Green Hell

      Nicolas Figueiredo Its too dangerous for cars of that speed. And the LMP1 cars would change plenty if the chicanes were dropped, going for a much lower downforce setup/build

      @@americanpride9733 Well, I think the the Porsche 919 Evo it's a good example in modern days of security and speed. I also don't see the sportcars return to setup with too much lower downforce since the average speed in corners count too much in a fast lap

      @@TheOpinel15 Pourtant c'est LA groupe C par excellence, elle est là depuis le début de cette aire (956 début 80) et a couru jusqu'a la fin, même quand les groupe C se faisaient "remercier" par les 3,5 litres (Peugeot 905, Toyota TS010, Jaguar XJR-14, etc...). C'est une Légende et a quasiment tout gagné au fil de ses évolutions... 😉‼️💯🔥🏁🏎️🤓

      It has five gears. 1st is dog-leg left and back and isn't used once rolling.

      It wasn’t. With a modded seat, the driver could stay in the car for double shifts. I’m not saying it didn’t get uncomfortable after a while but I think it was better than it seems.

    It would run in a 2:15 lap
    Or better,,
    Over 200 mph AVERAGE for the 8 miles..
    160 back in 1970-1971....

      Your not wrong but it's been done at a large expense which limited private teams from fielding them, they sound like crap, they were so expensive only 2 manufactures competed, they are boring to watch, and they killed the class. I'd rather have 10 962/956 on track than 2 porsche only 919s.

      The 919 would not run a 2:15 lap lol... Even testing this out on Assetto Corsa where the conditions and car is better than real life, you don't hit that target.

    RPM limit @ 7.000? LOL, they used to shift up at 8 and a half in the 80s. This race is just a catwalk...a beautiful one, nonetheless.
