Oh my gosh, Yana!!!! Don't you ever run out of wonderful ideas!!!????? Your cards are amazing and I LOVE the way you 'voice-over' the commentary and instructions! Your voice is clear and so cheerful, inspirational and encouraging!! (one of the very popular card designers on TH-cam has pretty cards too but seems to be condescending with her commentary) You are - by far- my favorite card maker on TH-cam!! Thanks for sharing your ideas!!! Can't wait to watch all of the instructional videos that go with some of these cards!!!
Yana, this video is a game changer for me. There are many inspirational and stimulating videos out there, but this video has been one I’ve come back to over the last week more than any other video. Love feeling like I don’t have to buy more to inject new creativity into my card making. I do love being excited to buy new stuff too don’t get me wrong, but this week I’ve actually squealed out loud with delight with what I’ve created-Without new product. Woohoooooo 😁🌸🌼😊
Great series, Yana! I love seeing your creativity add what (to me) are unexpected artistic details to cards! Ideas for other possible things to explore - One stamp set used 5 ways, making masculine cards from what might be considered traditional "girlie" stamp sets, different ways to use a simple basic shape die (like a circle) on cards, Embossing on cards (folders, using a die, stylus, chipboard shape maybe, etc?) your current favorite technique or card making supply and why? You always spark my creativity, thank you for what you bring to our hobby, Yana!!!
This is a most informative and useful video and I will return to it again and again. So many good..., no GREAT, ideas and tips useful for just about any stamps I currently own. While I'm sure you're ready to get home, the extra time you're there likely led to the making of this video and is a HUGE benefit to your fans and followers. Count me as one of them! Thanks so much.
Love all of these...all so different yet same principle. I would love to see you do a video of one stamp set 5 different ways, or three or whatever number you like. It is so inspiring to see one stamp set used differently each time. Thanks for this inspiration!
Creating a background is some what intimidating for me but you make it look so easy and fun to create! And what great ways to make different backgrounds! I would like to see 5 ways to use embossing-either heat or dry! As always, I love your work! You’re so talented Yana!
Hey Yana....2nd time I've watched this as it is one of the best educational tutorials I have seen! It is for this reason that I love your Channel the most. Even though it is great to see a simple process video, I definitely prefer crafty channels where I learn how to create cards that are balanced and harmonious, how to apply color theory when choosing colors, to learn various techniques and color mediums, and any tips/tricks to help me achieve a well designed card the most efficient way. You are my mentor, dear and I truly thank you and appreciate everything you share. You are a wonderful teacher...if you can get through this old and thick skull of mine LOL, imagine what you can do for the younger crafter! Until next time...take care!
HI Yana, I always love your cards with background stamping. Thanks for reminding me about all the gorgeous creations you have made using this technique. I'd forgotten just how many cards you'd made using this technique and just how stunning they all are. Thank you for being a constant inspiration to me 💖
These are all so beautiful Yana. I can't think of anything new that I could suggest for you to do. You seem to have more ideas than I do. LOL I remember most of these cards and I always loved the surf board background and enjoyed seeing it at that time. OH...I would love to see you use the Gansai Tambi's on a background sometime. I am always looking for new ideas using them on backgrounds. TFS!
Hello Happy almost St. Patrick’s Day!!! I haven’t been in the mood to make cards for about 2 weeks now, but after seeing these background stamps “ WOW, “ I LOVE IT 😍 thanks for the inspiration
Hi Yana loved all your background cards my personal favourite was the sunshine card super cool 👍 thank you so much for sharing look forward to watching your next tutorial all the best Lin in South Wales uk 💞
As always, you are an amazing example of how yo use creativity in card-making. I love to stamp images in a row, then fussy cut them, creating a pocket border for pages in my albums, or 3D embellishments, especially using vellum. Often I am asked where I purchase these items, and they are almost always stamped images. I love the colors and versatility! Your cards are spectacular!! Hugs-Raquel
Very informative video. I really like all of your color combinations, very pretty. I will refer back to this video & useit for inspiration. I'm sure I have lots of stamps that will work & some great, new patterns will be born! I would like to see your ideas for coverplate/background dies. They are beautiful and pricey, so if there are new ways to use them, that would be helpful. Looking forward to your Spellbinders kit cards.
My Lord, Yana, your creative mind just astounds me, seriously, and I think you should write a book. My biggest struggle is coming up with my own designs, and this part is the most time consuming for me. Are there 5 steps or things you ask yourself before beginning a card? How do you come up with a balanced composition. I know about the 'rule of thirds' but I'm sure there are other factors to consider as well to help design a balanced piece. Does it get any easier when designing cards after you've been creating them for a few years? I keep at it because of the health benefits but I have to admit I do find it challenging and often frustrating but the good news is that I refuse to give up LOL! Thanks for another educational tutorial Yana and, until next time....
Agree that Yana has an amazingly creative brain! Nancy, Yana has another video and blog post which I found really helpful, that you might want to check out - it's called something like "perfect card making formula" or something similar. It goes through some design ideas and layouts that Yana returns to again and again, which can be adapted to suit whichever stamps or dies you have.
@@katherines9945 I just read your comment now, Katherine. I'm heading over to Yana's blog now but wanted to say thank you for sharing your comment. Take care and happy crafting!
I love this video and summary of some of your beautiful cards - they are so inspiring! I’d love to see you create a video with 5 ways to use washi tape on a card.
Maybe a video where you coordinate stamp colors. I like how you use yellows greys & pinks on your cards. I would never thought of combining pink & yellow together. Some how it doesn't fit together to me lol tfs
I just took a class on color theory because I struggle with this as well. Sometimes it's a hit, but often my color combos are a miss. I try to stick to true and tried combos for good results
I love this had a stamp backgrounds. I like to do this but we always end up with too much in the center or not enough in the center so this is a good video. I have lots of scraps pattern paper scraps and just grabs I wish to do a series on that thank you I love your voice and I love your videos
Thank you, Terese! I'm so glad you've found this video useful! I do plan to make one about utilizing scraps, but I'll need to film something for it as I dont think I have enough existing content for it.
@@Yana.Smakula I always love to know what people reach for the most because I feel like I get stuck in one set! Maybe you could do 5 sentiment sets and 5 graphic sets!
I rarely make envelopes myself. If I do I usually use my scoring board (large scoring boards typically come with a scoring guide to make envelope) or envelope punch board from We R Memory Keepers (it's super easy to make and makes envelopes of any size)

Thanks for sharing Yana. Id like to see which kind of inks are best for stamping, what brand of dye inks.
Five most used stamp sets!
oooh, this could be a great one. Although it will probably mostly feature sentiment sets :)

Do you ever think of doing a design class? I would take it :)
Just a beginner here, do you also make the envelopes for your cards? If so how?
I rarely make envelopes myself. If I do I usually use my scoring board (large scoring boards typically come with a scoring guide to make envelope) or envelope punch board from We R Memory Keepers (it's super easy to make and makes envelopes of any size)
Yana, on one of the last cards where you embossed a criss-cross pattern, did you stamp first and then emboss?
Carol, yes. I stamped flowers first and then embossed the pattern. Here's a video th-cam.com/video/MuOs7MAzToo/w-d-xo.html
