The problem is, that the people of Bath, are more astute, and know when they are being ripped off. Even though this area of Avon is far more affluent than North wales, profit margins will be smaller, as prices are higher for second hand antiques or household junk.
@@peterlewis3540 interesting to see in last night's programme, he was fondling a small netska rat, and said he was born under the sign of the rat. when he grinned, the resemblance was very plain to see!!!
I bought a drapers counter from a men’s outfitters that closed about 45 years ago, to store my tools in. About 8 or so years ago I no longer wanted it and after writing up the provenance of where I got it offered it to various high profile antique dealers and the sock manufacturers who supplied it to the dealers in the first place. My asking price was £300 which I had researched and thought was fair to shift it quickly. Several of these dealers were very disparaging and snobby and tried to offer silly money for it. Drew Prichard on the other hand replied straight away, telling me he had rarely seen either a display cabinet or indeed many other items with such good provenance and snapped my hand off at my asking price. He sent an associate down to collect it promptly. I had great pleasure in replying to the other dealers telling them that I had sold it for my asking price.

He was driven out of Conwy and barred from numerous pubs around the area because of his drunken behaviour. Seems he conned the TV crew who didn't do their research, he also rips off those he buys from (unless the seller gets a bit extra off screen)

Always comes across as slimy and remind me of the old fella in Steptoe &Son - trust him as far as I could throw him - besides that his sidekick T was always the star of the show imo
His wealth has not come from 'antiques" its come from the tv programmes. You need the cash to buy 'antiques' and that came from the tv programmes. Just the same as Dick and Angel in France. They needed thousands to refurbish that chateau, it all came from the tv programmes.
Never liked this man who was always very aggressive and always seemed to rip off the sellers. It is no surprise that the couple separated as he appeared to be very selfish and egotistical.
Many years ago ( about the 80s ) on daytime Radio 2, a very famous DJ ( can't remember who )was asking listeners to find peoples names that suited their profession...... ones like Butcher, carpenter are obvious but he had to scrupulously check one particular name out before he could broadcast it. It was in antiques dealer called Robin Bastard . It was a genuine business with a sign above the shop with that name. It is probably fair to say that all "antiques" are a rip off and every dealer and every shop tries to buy cheap and inflates the selling price .
He is a conman. He robs schools and charities of valuable items by offering them very small value for money offers. He was ok and fair when he first started on tv but then he started being greedy
Don't bother travelling to Conwy to see his shop. He closed it. It's now a restaurant. But DO travel to Conwy to visit an outstanding medieval walled town with wonderful shopping. But no Drew.
The biggest mystery was after anyone watching the 1st series seeing how much he RIPPED people off, how did anyone ever welcome this absolute robber into their shops after that? Any antique dealer who gets £75 for an item and sees the show and it’s valued at £500 quid, how can anyone not see that as a robbery?

So easy for jealous critics to say he was ripping people off. Just imagine how much staff he had to pay? The staff had been with him for years so he must have been a good employer to work for? His own costs travelling with Tee and the van itself and fuel, overnight accommodation. Employers responsibilities such as sick pay, National Insurances on each member, taxes and Holiday Pay. The Business rates for the Buildings. Bank Charges. Maintenance of the Properties, Electricity, gas, water, phone charges, tools etc for the workshops, Accountancy and more. Not forgetting there is 20% Vat on Sales. Also taking into consideration he might buy an item and not sell it for months? After all that, he needs to make a profit. It is so easy for those who have never had the balls to try and run a business to come up with daft statements such as he is ripping people off. Try it? You will soon regret?
