Have you never been invited by a professor to audition even if he never heard you play, cause you spent the night in the conservatory? Happens every day!

Oh my god, YES! Thank you so much for this video! So true, especially everything you said about Berlin guys. I have lived through every scenario you mentioned. Also, I found it super idealistic and unrealistic how well Arabs and Jews and Israelis were getting along. That being said, I loved the miniseries.

As an Israeli Jew... Also need to understand that the Orthodox part represent a sect in the Jewish Orthodox world which considered to be very conservative. What's cool about Jeff - he came from this specific community. I watched the series with a friend who is from this community but also have a villain drug dealer lifestyle, and his name is Moishe too :D
    He loved it.
Another thing about the Berlin part - The msuic at the club was soft elevator sound compare to the music in a Berlin club.

To be honest, clubbing scenes in movies almost always suck. Berlin calling being the exception 😅

Wow! that's so sad. as a Chasidic Jew from NY myself, I can tell you they got the Jewish part totally wrong as well. I assumed they couldn't figure out Brooklyn cause it was made in Berlin, but if they got it all wrong that's just sad.

First time watching your video, and I find you so funny and easy going! Just a thing worth mentioning, when Israeli comedians tell Holocaust jokes in their skits, it's really not in order to make you feel bad or anything. Jews are used to laugh at the saddest and most triggering things, without filter. It's just how humor among Jews and Israelis work. I'm a granddaughter of Holocaust survivors, and these jokes pass right by me because I'm used to that kind of humor (which occasionally can be even a bit funny, believe it or not). However, Germans are really offended and triggered by Holocaust jokes (much more than Jews, believe it or not) so we should consider it as well. Again, take to mind it's just how it rolls in our neighborhood, it's really nothing against you guys.

They laugh about it because they know it's all lies, lies, and more lies, just as they've been ordained to do by their father, the liar and murderer from the beginning, being the eternal genocidaires that they are.

I think there's several different, sometimes mutually exclusive, subsections of the population in Germany. I don't believe an orthodox person would mingle with the "secular people" nor that much with the lgbt.
As an israeli living in Germany i'm met every day with some form of memory of the holocaust, be it simply because im surrounded by Germans or because i have a really dark sense of humor. I think Israelis who go to Germany, especially for the first time, crack a ton of holocauustjokes, it's just the way we are, even outside Germany, our ancestors died for this perk (and other reasons)
I think taking an israeli for a tour and showing them the memorials is pretty canon.
I do agree that all the german characters in the show were just eye candy

uhhmmm i'm a german raised living in germany and I'd say we really like talking about the holocaust and nazis. also the music people are barely 20, I'm 31 myself and can relate to you on a cynical level, but I'd like to believe like them exist.

Yea the holocaust chat was soooooooooo unrealistic. I had to cringe the whole time. Germans more tend to be the exact opposite. Some even are totally akward around jews, being cringly over polite, trying so hard not to say anything wrong. But otherwise I liked the series, and especially appreciated Jeff. Absolutely in love with his character. :D

    3:00 I disagree
as an Israeli I can tell you Germans have a talent to make you feel uncomfortable about this whole jew / israeli / holocaust thing just because they feel bad about it and they are looking for some kind of approval

Really fun video! But I'd like to make one thijng clear, I'm German and we do talk about the holocaust, at least in my environment. I can imagine though that it's no big expat topic, I mean, yall don't really have anything to do with it.
