Why can a black man put his arm in the air and there is no backlash but if a White person did that you would be called a Nazi and rightly protested against. I was just wondering what people thought about that.
Have you been robbed? As a cyclist, I have seen a ton of black drivers racing from one light to the other while dismissing me on my bike. One of the ran over my toes, another broke my rear wheel and drove away, another did an illegal turn in front of me then chased me to the next intersection cuz he thought I was at fault. One afternoon, a black teenager jumped out in front of my bike to scare me, then his friend punched me in the face to steal my cellphone. I, with broken glasses, begged them to return the phone. Asked people for help. No one came to my rescue. I just got my degree from Johns Hopkins and am ready to leave forever. I am happy I was not killed in this city.

Kevin Lam do u even live here man over 300 murders is 2017 you know how hard it is to live with being in a city where people die just because of their race or people just don't like them how bout you come here and see what it feels like
Refering to statistics, 80% of all homicides in Baltimore is comitted in only 20% of the city. Thats typical a result of underdeveloped and neglect parts of the city.
Praying for you Brother. When one realizes the power of his mind, and opportunity, and to the wisdom of educated prosperity, they are therefore free to grow to their potential. When we seek the voice that opposes the process to access, we limit the prospects to the best of ourselves. Find your voice that adds to the democracy of participation and contribution, we have suffer enough voluntary disfranchisement. A lot of these guys making babies but not raising, nurturing, protecting and teaching them like they should. Easier to just stand outside Central Booking and blame police, guards and jails for their failures. And thereineth lies the problem.
Everybody that has something negative to say... You grow up here in B-More or visit for a week... Don't avoid the inner city when you do... THEN TALK!!!
Cherry Hill and Murphy Homes...do something with your life nake better choices. Your fault if you don't blame whatever you want. You choose to stay somewhere where there isnt anything.
He is right, the prison system is medieval. All the low-skilled jobs, and manufacturing, went away. Still, there is no training, no supervision, no clear path for those who do want to succeed. It's bad.
The number one thing that people don't seem to understand, is that life isn't equal, opportunity isn't equal (as a whole it is a fundamental concept that affects everyone to some extent). As much as people want to champion hard work and education, that's only part of it, what we want as the ideal. We as humans prefer to associate by people that look like us, i.e. by race, and subconsciously (or consciously) judge people on race. It in particular makes it hard to understand the problems black communities face, because you're simply not black. Generation after generation are stuck in these poor communities riddled with crime because they lack the exposure and resources, which in turn means less job opportunity, as the cycle compounds on itself. You have kids that don't have access to a decent educational facility, parents that don't know the importance, and an environment that fosters violence and snuffs out anyone trying to improve. The kicker is that it's not entirely the fault of a poor community being poor, and people don't get that. They're forgotten and forsaken (that's why they're angry), and oddly enough, receive the least amount of funding for anything, so they can't grow. It's a fact of existence for black people, that somewhere down the line, failure or success is going to be determined by someone caring or not about your skin color. I don't condone violence, but it's the only way they had left to get attention to be helped; they essentially have to make their situation worse before they receive any help. It's the way the America and media works, blame the poor people on being poor instead of figuring out why they are that way.
Tired of seeing white people in the comments saying "get a job" "go to college".. Your ancestors caused this whole culture. Black people were deprived of their human rights for 300 years & you think its a coincidence that they make up the largest percentage of the prison population? The largest percentage of people living in poverty in the US? You think you can just sing about freedom and pop fire works every 4th of July and that the damage that centuries of slavery, segregation, systematic oppression, housing discrimination, and racism inflicted on African Americans are just gonna vanish? After all that, black people were supposed to just "catch up"... And be on par with the your society.. And thrive in a system that works against them TO THIS DAY? Do your research before you come on here and type your judgmental and ignorant comments. If you're out right racist its one thing, .. but if you actually have a good heart you should at least try to understand why things are the way they are before you say certain things.
Junior Sanchez it’s the employers being racist. Saying “black people don’t work hard in the employers view” is the employer judging the person based on skin color and not giving the real person a chance. Just looking at their race and saying we can’t hire u. That’s racism it doesn’t matter if it’s from experience or not.
I'm happy that he doesn't consider himself a "regular citizen" of Baltimore. Most of us aren't convicted of domestic violence,or have tattoos on our faces.
How do you justify “people fear what they don’t understand” with getting mugged at gun point on their way to work or home? A guy could get robbed in the parking garage in broad daylight for goodness sakes.
yea its this guy his fault that whites built ghettos and purposely put colored people in the ghetto. its his fault that whites put gun and liquorstores in the ghetto. its his fault that whites take every opportunity away from people in the ghettos to make something of themselves. its his fault... forget who caused it, the ones who participate in it its all their fault. smh
A city that keeps the same electing the same criminals year after year has no right to complain about sky-rocking murder rate and flight of honest, hard working, taxing paying citizens.

Am a black man living in murder capital Baltimore city I have seen 14 murders and 6 were friends I have seen live kidnappings I have seen a guy get killed with a shovel I have seen a woman get her face blew off at a broken phone booth.i have been hit in the foot by a stray bullet I have been stabbed I have been robbed across the street from a police station. It's bad in Baltimore so bad I have seen a rat rob a cat of his food in a alley.if you don't have to come to the hood of b/more don't come to the ghettos of Baltimore
💯
marching with blm in retaliation to the police is the opposite of what this city needs. police brutality affects 1 out of a million, gangs affect probably 1 out of 3 people here.
I’m from zone 18 and even at a young age I saw a man get jumped and shoot it’s a crazy place in bmore I’m just tryna make it out and be a successful basketball ball player and I want to be a good man god pls keep me here 🙏🏽😔
Prayers he makes it out💯 I'm 34 from Baltimore an it's just so sad here.💔
Same here and from BMore and the same exact age
So - this guy is angry at how inmates are treated, but assaulted his wife (sorry 'mother of my children')... give me a break. Is she not 'human' too? Logic seems to be nowhere - it's like listening to a 5yo. How sad.
"Who Taught You To Hate Yourself" -Malcolm X
I pray you find your peace my brother. stay strong
He Look Like a Darker KID CUDI to me
Hell yea😂😂😂
I told him that 😆
i see alot of people hating on this man. no need for all that.
Rest In Peace my friend,it was a pleasure meeting you and hearing your story. Much love
You gotta act like a regular citizen before we treat you like one.
Get a real job, pay taxes, raise your kids, stop making excuses that anybody is standing in your way.
First Name When was it said that he didn't have a job, pay taxes or raise his kids?
MultiMagniGladii When he implied he speaks for the supposedly "oppressed."
First Name You have no evidence, only an assumption. What exactly are you basing this off of?
MultiMagniGladii His implication of speaking for a whole class of people is evident in his content.
As for the real causes of the problems said class of people face: Personal experience, statistics, and common sense.
First Name And not poverty?
Oh you've been to jail every year since you're 11? Have you tried...maybe NOT committing crimes and see if that helps?
Well to start people need to stop having kids that they can't afford.
Kevin Lam Correct answer!!
+Kevin Lam But health care in Africa is non existent..So kids die very young, therefore parents have more kids in hope of some living longer
+xJoe16 So you're telling me that people in Africa bring children into the world KNOWINGLY that they will die? Well that's just retarded and selfish.
Kevin Lam do u even live here man over 300 murders is 2017 you know how hard it is to live with being in a city where people die just because of their race or people just don't like them how bout you come here and see what it feels like
My mans look like a Dark Skin Kid Cudi
If you look at the demographics of Baltimore, you’ll understand why there’s so much crime and poverty there.
I love Baltimore , it's a bitter-sweet feelin stayin here ,but I love it
Wishing you well, that you build on your sense of inspiration and live it every day.
"It begins with bridging the gap..." No, it begins with not committing crimes year after year I'm sorry...
Nice plan, say crime should stop and it happens
>People think it's a gang but it isn't
Says the spokesman who had been in jail every year since he was 11
Much love to everyone in Baltimore ik y’all are struggling always keep ya heads up well make change
Living Righteously should make you feel whole Brother!!! Stop making excuses and do what you know is correct!!!
People talking about prison like the talking about going to Harvard university LOL
It's sad, change your your mind set. Renew your mind. Some people don't want to change.
lovely video! Thanks. :D
Refering to statistics, 80% of all homicides in Baltimore is comitted in only 20% of the city. Thats typical a result of underdeveloped and neglect parts of the city.
why did they call this video "gang life in baltimore"? weird title. the man barely talks about gangs, just mentions affiliation w BGF
Praying for you Brother. When one realizes the power of his mind, and opportunity, and to the wisdom of educated prosperity, they are therefore free to grow to their potential. When we seek the voice that opposes the process to access, we limit the prospects to the best of ourselves. No man is and island, and we must share the individual burdens of progress without the misrepresentation of community genocide. Find your voice that adds to the democracy of participation and contribution, we have suffer enough voluntary disfranchisement. We have Love for you, but I plead you, make a choice that enriches the man in the mirror because many are called, and few are chosen. We need you…”NOW”…..make that choice Brother…the rest of your life is waiting someone different like you…..Be Blessed
flavar4u2 me I thank u since this I've been doing way better I'm training to b a minister now no denomination str8 spiritual im on it I'm bringing nothing but solid men with me
From 1:50 to 2:10 Matt says the very foundation on why every hood is terrible and the people crazy.. I've listen to his saying from 1:50 to 2:10 several times and even favoruitet this video bc of it. Tru words man, true words!
this man just identified every black boy/man in the community.
I remember being in the bookings with this brother he was a solid dude real cool
That city is hopeless, beyond fixing.
Not true. Its slowly getting better. They are doing a lot of construction in the city so it's on the up and up. They just need to clean up the ghettos.
Press on and keep believing in yourself. Also, ignore ignorance!
The media does everything but help go figure
SHOUTOUT FROM ORLANDO, FL 💪
If you want to be treated like a regular citizen may be you should act like one!!
je co --exactly
If the housing isn't up to code, tear it down!
No it's a way of living out here with Baltimore being so small you just want to feel free and it starts at a young age being in school all day from 7am to 315pm then you start getting older and don't want to be "soft" I get it man all I can say is your number one priority is yourself I'm latino but I know about this life out here and seen friends suffer end up with wrong choices praying.for you brother pray for me as well I need it too
A lot of these guys making babies but not raising, nurturing, protecting and teaching them like they should. Easier to just stand outside Central Booking and blame police, guards and jails for their failures. And thereineth lies the problem.
I never knew the exact area i came from was this bad, it was normal to me growing up.
Destyn same I was just thinking we can’t be that bad
Born and raised in the city...grew up at 18 and moved to another state because of the horror
It's bad.
I love Baltimore I used to live there
But he said he's not in a gang? 🙄
I understand about dumbing down to fit in
The number one thing that people don't seem to understand, is that life isn't equal, opportunity isn't equal (as a whole it is a fundamental concept that affects everyone to some extent).
This is just a video for racist internet tough guys to laugh and talk about.
Arky Bald Knobber ^Perfect example.
zGriM3y who cares
iRushYou u are right
iRushYou yep that sounds about white
zGriM3y--. Why?
Great video. very informative. wow! great content........................
Great story and I have huge support for that man, but this is the wrong title. Good job, NYT
Cynthia G. PLEASE GET OVER IT.MOVE ON.
derrie page i'll get over and it once we have equality thanks.
I'd be real interested to see a copy of his resume, criminal history and know the amount of children he has.
brandon k I've held multiple jobs so I have a variety of skills, just finished a training school, 2children by the same woman, no felonies
Tarzan u sound dumb asf n its people like u that have men out here resorting to crime to put food on tha table
@Tarzanits sad they do though these folks are human just like us
Junior Sanchez it’s the employers being racist.
I was locked up with this dude in Columbia MD. Ran spades w him
Hold on my bother. It'll get better. Pray on!
thats not a gang. bro a gang beats up there own members thats a family,
Typical ,everyone else's fault but yours.hmm
yea its this guy his fault that whites built ghettos and purposely put colored people in the ghetto. its his fault that whites put gun and liquorstores in the ghetto. its his fault that whites take every opportunity away from people in the ghettos to make something of themselves. its his fault... forget who caused it, the ones who participate in it its all their fault. smh
Rompa Stompa shutup
Death Rager u understand
Bigot are we? Smh
A city that keeps the same electing the same criminals year after year has no right to complain about sky-rocking murder rate and flight of honest, hard working, taxing paying citizens.
You're right, I'll just relax and enjoy the murder.
