  • HBO originally aired a special back in 1983 for the Comedy Store's 11th anniversary. There were short, various clips of comics such as Jim Carey, Sandra Bernhardt, and Mike Binder. I have uploaded Jim Carey's and Mike Binder's spots.

    Imagine he had to make those impressions for years in clubs, shows, live tv... Gotta respect the hard work and passion he went from nothing and became the greatest comedian in Hollywood. A true inspiration.

    I remember when Jim was on "In Living Color", before I (or even most people) knew who he was. He was always one of my favorite cast members from the start, and I started to see why, as he became more and more successful. His greatness at his craft stood out like a sore thumb among his contemporaries even then.

      Tho it's funny how some of the bits age. Like I don't really remember anymore how Landon used to smile, and while I loved My Three Sons I barely remember it. But the others are as clear as a bell. I guess we all have our favourites.

    A lot of his comedy comes from pain...his dad being an alcoholic ne'er do well...the family living in their station wagon...young Jim trying to bring comic relief.

    Here's a guy who definitely paid his dues to get to where he is today. I had vaguely heard about him before he exploded in popularity on In Living Color, especially with that movie he did with Lauren Hutton and Cleavon Little called Once Bitten, as well as an appearance he made on The Tonight Show. He's come a long way from those days in the 80's.

    I recorded this off HBO when it first aired. Got the whole show. Pretty good except for Jimmy Walker and Elaine Boozler.
    Still have it on the original VHS tape I recorded it on today.

    A legend who wasn't on SNL. Very few like him these days. Loved watching ILC with him. What an amazing career 💗

      The problem is, he stopped training his expressions some day. Just guessing it was when he started with his movies. He showed 1000 times more skills in this show then he did in any movie.

      Lorne Michaels wasn't running SNL when he auditioned in 1981, and didn't personally audition for him when he tried a second time later in the '80s.

      The Wayne’s brothers exposed his talent in Hollywood. Their show In Living Color wouldn’t have been as good as it was without him. He got the perfect opportunity to hone his craft and made it to movies. He was able to show that he could be the biggest clown and also embody others like Andy Kauffman better than anyone else could.

FYI: The last two impressions he does in the fishing hat (the characters he doesn't identify) are meant to Peter Fonda followed by Katherine Hepburn.
