Sounds awesome!! I'm also looking for a pair of speakers but for budget and space reasons i'm forced to go bookshelf. There's a few good offers for the Mites online. I wanted to delay the .1 part of the system. Is a sub strictly necessary or they're still enjoyable without it?

You will never regret theses Totem! Honestly, it's hard to perfectly balance a sub so the crossover between the Mite and my Dynamo 1000 isn't noticeable. Having that extra musical punch of a string attack from a bass in Jazz is far more enjoyable!

For me, I liked the Mite the most because the frequency response of them is more flat than the Rainmakers that are too bright with their aluminium tweeter. The port of the Rainmakers is too small for the woofer so there's a lot of bass distortion at the same volume level compared to the Mite. Overall, the Mite is a better choice!

The depth/width of the stage imo is better on the Mite, but the fact that the Rainmakers are brighter might fool some people about their resolution. I might be a fanboy of the Mite, but the experience I had with the Rainmaker is very negative!
@ I have them, I feel them bright, all depends in equipment and music, but is almost all the time, they sound very good in big rooms, but my space is limited.
@ The Rainmaker might sound a little bit bright, but all depends in pre amps, DAC and records, I have them with the Krell KAV-300i and Burson Audio Swing DAC and the sinergy is amazing, sounds phenomenal to me.

@@slaving300 that's true, but there's a major breathing issue on the Rainmakers' woofer. The port hole is not big enough. I agree that I might had bright setup which was more appropriated for the Mite!
@ Check the last video in my channel, I put them in a medium size room, the bass is really good in that room, they need space to breathe; mi cellphone is not good recording, it tends to record sound brighter, give me your opinion, thanks.

For me, yes. Mites are more refined speakers than the Rainmakers
