    My parents originally met each other whist both working there over 70 years ago. As a young man I remember it being a wonderful place, but sadly now those days are gone.

    Almost brings an east end boy to tears.Day trips to saufend on the steam train. after a sunny say on the beach by the gasworks pier if you could get a deckchair,tea tray form the basement take aways opposite, on to the kursall and a ride on the green pier train
    If I was a good boy fish and chips and allowed to stay late for the lights
    How did Southend let it all go

    Everyone eyes in front engaging with the world around them ,not staring at mobile phones , no obesity and small children having a great time.

    Loved Southend right up until about 6 yrs ago. Its all changed, u got peoele all in sea washing feet ceremonies 😱 , youngsters hanging about with knives , its scarey now. 🙏
