The good days besides Vietnam,,. I was only 1 but it look more innocent to me .,, I wish this generation was still around 70's and 80's.Also I may add "The days before retribution inflicted on you for what political party you choose, family and friends despise you if not on the same side" I don't recall these days back then!!

Great video. Wish it played music from 1975 the way the music blasted from the boardwalk onto the beach. It would have made it fun!

This is the Seaside I remember, I’m probably somewhere here. Great footage, but sad seeing the Big Wheel getting taken down, really miss those days. Great job Henry.

Currently vacationing at Seaside Heights July 2021, great to see these old clips and sights of years gone by, especially the parts of the boardwalk that were destroyed by hurricane Sandy and the fire the following year. I miss the old section with the carousel! 🎠 Also so funny to see the cartons of cigarettes as wheel prizes. You’d never see that today! 😂 Thank you for sharing your home movies! 😍

I was 14 in 1975 and we had a bungalow in Midway beach. Anyone remember the ROTOR? THE RIDE where you get in this circular room that spins around and the floor drops out and because of the centrifical force of the spinning you stick to the walls. We used to get upside down in it spinning around stuck to the wall upside down.

Great video so many memories I grew up in that town in the '60s through the late 90s I played on that boardwalk I worked on that boardwalk and I visited that boardwalk. My aunt and uncle had three stands on the boardwalk I remember going to the skillo halls with my aunt on many a cold winter nights in the mid 60s it was so Smokey in there you couldn't even see each other 5 ft away sometimes nobody cared back then, everybody was having fun. I got out on high School in 76 by then me and my buddy we were already working the Swiss Bob I was running the shooting gallery there at the arcade and when I wasn't there I was hanging around and working my aunt and uncle stands I think the '70s were the best days for that boardwalk and I truly appreciate you sharing those moments your home videos with us thank you.

the haunted house clip there reminded me of the great adventure tragedy at its haunted house. I actually knew someone that knew 1 or 2 of the people that were in that.

I spent summers in Lavallette during the 1960s, just a short walk along the beach to Seaside Heights. Spent a lot of time walking the boards at Seaside, but rarely went on any of the rides, played any games, or went swimming (Lavallette had a better beach). It was all about meeting girls, eating food (best pizza in the world), and just taking in the unique sights, sounds and even the smells of Seaside Heights. Yes, the aroma of Italian sausages and onions sizzling on a griddle was intoxicating. Too bad your 8mm film was silent. I could almost hear the deafening sound of the arcade wheels as the pointers clicked over the nails around the edge. Hard to believe that most of those arcade games paid the winners with cartons of cigarettes. "Those were the days, my friend", and we hoped they would never end... but they did.
Hopefully there's a whole new generation of kids making their own memories on the boardwalk in Seaside Heights. Just like I did back in the day. Thanks for sharing this walk down memory lane, Henry. The 8mm format definitely added something to the nostalgic impact of this film.

It was Boardwalk pizza and not even the best in new jersey not even close. Sawmill had giant slices for $.50 with a coke. Budweiser if you were of age for a little more. Also not all the stands had cigarrettes only the few that were dedicated cigarrette stands.

My uncle and my dad would play the cigarette wheels and we would all play the grocery wheels. My brother and myself would play the record and the candy wheels. My brother won himself a nice electric guitar at one of the appliance wheels. The guitar and my brother are long gone now. 😢
