I can’t respect a player who won’t or can’t own their mistake. It was a grub act on Wallace. No one follows through with their arm like that when spoiling. Wanted to take his head off, tried to and succeeded. Own it!!!!

Don’t know him from Adam, and i don’t seek to excuse anything he did on the field but I was out on the piss one night with a mate many years ago and we ran into Grinter in a bar. We didn’t recognise him straight away; he was just a bloke to us and we got into a shout with him. He was a top feller. We talked about footy and he never let on he was an AFL footballer. Wasn’t till much later in the night someone told us it was Rod Grinter. Really good bloke. Unpretentious and friendly. Good company.

i remember as a young kid meeting and getting Rod Grinters autograph at a milk bar in Bayswater. I still have it to this day. Another time playing North Melb at the MCG, he ripped off his collar and threw it on the ground. I had my eyes set on it as soon as the siren went but some other prick beat me to it. Thanks for giving your heart and soul to the Melbourne Football Club Rocket. Regards DF.

Its a hit but that was expected of players back then. Definitely crude but rod was likely patted on the back for it. Cant expect to reconcile it with todays rules. Scary game in the 80s. Scott turner hit on garry O'Donnell in 95 semi as fierce and changed the game. As a tiger we loved that action. Different times

Bloke is a grub, king hit Wallace and still isn't contrite about it. Says a ton about what type of person he is.

A bad habit of round arm tackles give me a fuckin break! The man they call balls should've had the balls to own up to that Wallace hit!

I was a Richmond supporter when Richmond was a power house , I convert to Melbourne in the 80s when we lost by a few goals it was like a win. And my tears of happiness after some years when made the finals is still my happiest time. The sorrows of that free kick and later the the road to grand final , even you lost is a memory I cherish

Actually it is Grinter thats obsessed with the rough stuff - or rather the dirty sniping cowardly stuff.
It’s laughable how Mr Grinter can sit there trying to justify his acts on the ground based on a quirky way of tackling.
Closed fists aimed at a players face or head is not a tackle or a weird accidental coat hanger. It’s striking or as police refer to as assault.
To claim victimhood because Wallace took legal against Grinter and the Club 2 years later is again just laughable.
Would have been better if Grinter didnt agree to do this interview. Made him look weaker and more dishonest than what people already thought of him.

Were you watching the game through your brown eye?! King hit. A dog. And what he did to Fitzroy's Ashley Walker was downright dangerous.
It's like he's pleading to be liked and forgiven for what he did.

Scraping the bottom of the barrel. Met him down in Hobart in 2015 at the Salamanca markets at a local cafe. Tried to cut the line in front of me. Total flog.
