Fun fact, the processor bits are not directly related to the graphics or the specific things the system can do, it is simply the amount of binary numbers it can process at the same time.
I hope that true 4-bit actually exists, because I would be intrigued to realize how pixelated-looking and robotic-sounding would a 4-bit game be, though the closest thing I could see or hear as 4-bit are either Atari 2600, SG-1000, or Game Boy, all of which are actually 8-bit in a technical sense, just not in the arbitrary way that gamers typically define it, so... Yeah!
The SNES sound chip primarily uses samples. Meaning almost every noise it produces is pre-recorded from an actual instrument and the main issue with voices on the SNES is cartridge space.
They look like koopa troopas with their shells replaced with dragon wings and changed their colour to purple and orange so I definitely agree they look goofy
hi, retromantra, great video, i for one think that the gba port is the best, yes, you could argue about the screen crunch, and the colors, but the colors were meant to appear like that so they could appear normally on a gba screen, and you can play as luigi! and he has different physics! not often you see that.
@tomasrabelobelchiordemelo3422 Because it's the same hack called New Super Mario All-Stars HD made by the same person. He has made HD remakes of all SMB games in that hack.
the tic80 might have a 4 bit display coloring but has an 8bit engine and an color pallet that can't be executed with 8 bit alone. Also the GBA has a 16bit screen and an compressed audio which I don't know the value, but it has a 32 bit microprocessor for some reason, since it is called a 16 bit handheld. Also the Wii didn't have the power of displaying HD. At least you're not calling Mario Wonder 128 bit.
Besides the fact that nubiaowen started an arg in the comments, and that tic 80 probably isn’t actually 4 bit, all of the versions showcased here look nice
Por que o de gba tá tão branco?? Eu já zerei essa versão (em emulador, óbvio, ta achando que eu vou comprar um gameboy advance hoje em dia?) e eu tenho certeza que não é assim

4-bit looks as if all the work was put into Mario's sprite, and sounds as if you were playing on a SNES with a busted sound chip. 8-bit is literally just the same game if it were on the NES. The colours are a little different compared to 4-bit, but the sound so much better. 16-bit is just the original game. Fantastic music and graphics. I never actually knew the Advance games were 32-bit but that's pretty cool. It's an awesome port, even though the voices do sometimes get annoying after a while. HD is basically the original game with Wii graphics and star coins. The music is even catchier and I like the little dance the dinos make. They also look more Yoshi-like.

What makes that first part 4-bit?
EDIT: TIC-80 is not 4-bit. 'x-bit' doesn't even apply since it's an emulator. If it did, it'd probably be 32-bit.
