Quick Review here on the Makita Bump N Feed Trimmer Head with some instructions on how to load it. If anything would jam or break inside there are two tabs to pop open the trimmer head to remove the issue. I typically soak my trimmer line in water to make it last longer. Check out the Amazon links above to purchase.

Te screw size is M10-1.25 Left Hand thread. The head will only work with left turning trimmers.

I have the Australian version Brushless 18v DUX18 that utilises a line trimmer head and a pole-saw attachment. I use the line trimmer head a lot more than the pole-saw.
The only negative for me is when 'bumping' to feed more line. Because the 'button' is plastic I suggest only bumping on soft surface (dirt) as concrete path etc will damage it.
Some other line trimmers have a metal bumper button which is much less prone to damage.
Having said that, these are easy to refill which is some compensation. 😁

So far I haven't had any trouble with bumping them on hard ground, but probably a lot of the time I'm using it out in the woods away from sidewalks and such. Yes they are very easy to refill, which is nice.
