A lot of guys talking smack about the "Keyboard Guy" like he just joined for the first time during this festival, true he may not have really done a good job, but he's been a silent member of the band since 2007. All the best live performances by the band Venganza(2009), The Black Parade is Dead(2008), Valencia(2011) he was present, adding that ethereal layer to the Danger days album and other performances. Give him some credit too.!!!
I don't really think that James ruined the performance, but I do agree that his mic was really loud at times and it unbalanced things at times since Gee is the lead singer.
What I like about this video: The way Gerard sings with an accent in Mama, When his terrible singing actually sounds cute, The way the drummer stares at Gerard when he moans to Destroya, The people in the pit who looks like they're trying to summon Satan, The garbage man, The two men making out (in red) at 34:15, The way Gerard keeps singing when he makes a mistake in Famous Last Words. no, it was actually loud, but the microphone only picked up gee's voice. if you were there and record it with your own phone it will sound loud, but since this was on live tv, they only recorded what the mics got
i was there and all the shows that were broadcasted on TV have almost 0 crowd noise compared to how loud it actually was. The other stages were pretty close to this one, so if they turned up the crowd, you probably would have heard the other bands playing at the same time aswell. They probably just broadcasted directly from the soundboard because of that.
When gee yells, "GET UP GERMANY" all I can think is, "I really can't right now bc the rest of my family is sleeping and it's hard enough headbanging silently."

A great performance overall again by My Chemical Romance.... But yes I have to agree with the general consensus that the mixers/soundboard guys did a horrible job turning James's mic up way too high. Gerard is the lead singer. His mic should be louder than everyone else. Ugh morons. But as always, this band delivers. From Ray's leads to Gerard's showmanship, to Mikey and Frank's contributions as well. This band was complete I tell you. Miss em dearly.
i think this is the concert i watched on TV when they aired it live. i was 13 back then and we were on vacation and i basically forced everyone to leave me alone for the whole duration of the thing. i was so happy. i'm 21 now and still sad that was the closest i ever got to seeing them live but i'm so glad i found this. probably gonna watch it a million times now just reminiscing.

He's played in Reggie and the Full Effect and The Get Up Kids, the latter being one of those bands that heavily inspired bands that we all listen to daily. He's also recorded with New Found Glory and a bunch of other bands. There's no reason to trash on him.

Ray Toro is on of the best guitarists of the last decade. I hope instead of bands dying of drugs and alcohol that they just continue to make music and reappear every few years to remind us they can still rock it no matter of age.
